Ditto @Linda the Old Bird! I bought tree collard seeds from you, Sequoiah, two years ago; planted them, and I've been VERY pleased with the results. They have huge leaves and taste delicious, and everyone I've shared them with enjoy them too. This spring is the first time they've bloomed and I wasn't sure what to do. At first I cut off the flower heads and used them as broccoli. Well, that just made them laugh at me and kick production into overdrive. Hahaha! I haven't been able to keep up since. Lol!! Thank you for this very timely video. Much appreciated!

My cuttings seem to be doing well, hopefully they continue to do so. I’m so excited to get them in the ground soonish. I cut them each in half so I could give some to a local community garden and some friends. I’ve been talking them up to basically anyone who’ll listen lol. Most that I talk to haven’t heard of them but think they are super cool. I’ve been shouting out your website to some too. We need these in every neighborhood. 💜

A week ago I had never heard of tree collards. Today I ordered 4 cuttings from you and can't wait (but I will) until they arrive. I've also learned a lot from your videos. As an amateur prepper I like to find perennials in fruit and vegetables. Fortunately I like collards and heard they are also a great fertilizer.

Nice!! Thanks for another great video!! I see the value of buying the cuttings or rooted cuttings vs starting from seeds. All my starts are from seeds this year. Excited to learn as they grow and buy rooted cuttings when available again

I am so glad you shared this video! My tree collards started to bloom and I wasn't sure what to do. I did however cut about 50% of them back and left the rest. The flowers make an amazing addition to the landscape here in the desert of Arizona! Shalom

My parrot, an Australian grass keet, loooves the green seed pods. He laughs and throws kisses and dives right into his food bowl. Usually he's mad at me and tries to bite my face off.

So, you're telling me that I can plant other brassicas near the tree collards and get all kinds of cool other things? I'm getting excited! I love our tree collards. Between that and my swiss chard, I'm all set!

tree collards cross with some brassicas but not ALL of them.

@@projecttreecollard My wife and I were having fun imagining all the funny crosses, like a tree collard with huge cabbages growing all over them! LOL Ok, we went a little bit Dr. Seuss, but it was fun. I am, on a more serious note, looking forward to doing some experimenting to see what kind of interesting things we can discover hiding in the intense genetics put into these amazing plants by Our Father.

Thank you for the video! I just received my purple tree collard seeds feom you and I will plant them next August since fall is our best time to grow brassicas. I am looking forward to that. Truthfully, I will probably germinate a couple seeds soon (early January) because I am so eager to grow these! I am curious what characteristics they will have: if they are purple, have flat or curly leaves, etc.

Question : if we let them bloom, do they die after producing seeds?
@projecttreecollard Жыл бұрын
Not at all! Please watch the video again. Maybe I wasn't articulate enough...I was trying to show how they are perennial no matter what you do with the flowering.
