In my ultrasound a cyst found in my ryt kidney... it happened that I change my diet to lowcarb and plantbase diet. I have a regular ultrasound every 6months but after 2yrs my cyst was gone.

Same. Low carb and just recently plant based. I have fish though. I had five benign tumors and one gone. Next scan I am believing all gone. Amen.

So comforting to hear that. I just found out 3 weeks ago that I have a cyst on my rt kidney also and was wondering if there was anything I could do to aid healing it.

This is exactly what happened to me. With a ultrasound thy saw a small growth, I was checked every 6 months, the third time, the Dr,said I think thy going to operate, so going back to the Urologist he said we operating the very next week. Well thy took out my whole kidney and tested the cysts and the lab test showed it was a aggressive cancer cysts . A year later I was told my other kidney has a disease. And then had to change my diet and low protein, and so much more. Very difficult to keep up with tat boring diet. Your explanations are excellent. Thank you so much. I understand so much more watching your videos.

Oh my goodness . I’m so sorry for what you’re going through . I have mildly complex renal cysts for which I have to get a CT scan for soon . I have pain and hoping it’s mostly fluid filled and not containing cancer . Are they telling you that there is a good chance you might need a kidney transplant ?

@@DanceArtistM hi, I’ll write a more thorough response later but can you tell me how you found out it was kidney cysts ? And what Bosniak category was it determined ? Also , did you concurrently have any kidney stones at the same time ?

I have 3 bosniak 2f cyst in my left kidney I am 33 and I had 3 quarters of My leftit removed when I was 12 months old due to a tumour Thay tould me for 30 year I had polycystic kidneys and now The doctors say that got it wrong now I got 3 bosniak 2f cyst I want it taking out but I don’t no if thay will I’d like to go private if not could any one tell me if I can I have 3 kids and I’m worried of it turning cancerous one day I’ve had these for a about 4 years the bonsniak 2f cyst thay have out me under McMillan hospital I hope that take this out pls if any one can help with some advice would mean a lot thank u

Ive had a simple kidney cyst for a long time. It is occasionally a real pain, like my kids, not always hurting but ive had it so long that ive put it on my family tree, again like my kids.

Thanks, doctor and Michelle! I’ve wanted an episode on this topic for a while now. I have 3 simple cysts. On the left kidney, I have two tiny ones the size of a pea. On my right, my cyst is the size of an avocado! I had an ablation done….IT GREW BACK! My EGFR is pretty good--around 85. But I leak protein…plenty of it. I’d love to know if the cyst is a reaction to my kidney damage that created my proteinuria or if they’re separate issues. Mine does cause me pain. Thank you again! Love you both!

First of, I am sorry to hear about your kidney cysts. In terms of protein in the urine, it is very important to get a renal biopsy if we cannot figure out the cause. The sooner we control the protein, the better off you will be.

@@SELFPrinciple Hello. I had an ultrasound last year because i was getting getting pain (Burning sensation under my Right Rib) The Ultrasound found that i had a small cyst on my Right kidney. Do you think (just your opinion) that the pain could be caused by the cyst?? Thank you for your Time

Thank you Doc for the information...it helps me so much and understand about what is simple kidney cysts . Nothing to worry about it . Just got the result of my Ultrasound and the findings of my Physician after reading the results is that I have a simple cysts at my left kidney.. God bless us all💕💕🙏🙏💕💕

I just want to ask for clarification with what you said that "all of these cyst they have a potential to convert to cancer". Does this include Simple Cyst or only Complex (PKD) that can convert to cancer? Thanks again.

Thank you Doctor had a MRI this morning for disc problems but they found a 4.6 cm cystic on my right lobe liver it was 1.8 from a CT in 2008 now they recommend an Ultrasound’ I have no pain at all in my liver but the MRI was done because of sciatic nerve pain and what was found that caused it is diffuse disc bulges in my spine’ I’m really concerned about the cyst found on my liver

Just fond I have cyst on my lift kidney with CT The radiologist recommended a mri my mother had one and it started out small and over time it grow she had to to have a kidney removed I go for mri in a few days hope all is well with this

Thomas Weimbs and Jacob Torres @ the University of California Santa Barbara disagree with you. According to their research the proliferation of cysts can often be prevented by using one or more of the following strategies: Fasting, ketogenic diet, citric acid, or ketone supplementation.

Good afternoon Doctor, Is it possible for a simple kidney cyst turn into a complex cyst? MRI 11/2022 Bilateral Simple Cyst. Ultrasound 9/2023 now diagnose previous right kidney cyst as complex 3.3x2.8x2.6 cm? Can that be possible?Thank you

I have several small cysts . One has a thin separation in it. They want me to go back in 1 year to get another mri . But they don’t care I have pain in my kidneys. My urine is in good numbers . They haven’t sent me to a urologist. Should I be concerned? Is there any blood work that should be done ?

I have 2 cysts in my kidney 25mm, my blood test shows kidney function is ok. But for a month now, it is causing pain every now and then. Doctor says it is ok, normal to have one. But with the pain, is it still normal?

Your thoughts on the Electrolyte packet you mix with water that contain salt? Great information, helping me with my kidney issues and decoding what my Dr is doing and deciphering the medical lingo when reviewing test results that the Dr does no always go over.

Is polycystic kidney disease diagnosed with a simple ultrasound ? I was diagnosed with PKD I had two cysts in my left kidney and three in the right, my kidneys are regular size and I’m asymptomatic should I demand further testing?

Sean / Michelle what's your take on Hydrolysed Collagen Peptides in terms of additional protein on top of a normal diet. I have considered taking 5 - 10g per day but still maintaining a c. 40 g max of protein per day, most of which is gained from plant-based with the exception of the occasional 50-60g of salmon for Omega 3's etc.

We briefly address collagen peptides in one of our Q&A episodes. We generally recommend for people to get from whole food sources vs powders since following a low protein diet can add up very quickly. But that can be different for every person! Especially if they are still sticking to their recommended total protein goal/day.

I have an mri with Eovist contrast to watch some masses in my liver. They note “Unchanged bilateral small renal cysts”. Does that mean it is a simple cyst and can those turn cancerous?

Yeah I think my dye hurt mine too. If you say you are allergic they can work around it. It's not worth it

Will intermittent fasting (eating between 12pm -8 pm) help slow down or reduce cyst in adpkd cases? Also is there any drugs and or lifestyle changes that can slow or reduce cysts?

Yes, intermittent fasting and keto help tremendously. You don’t have to eat a lot of protein but reduce carbs to 20%. Cysts feed on sugar and carbs turn into sugar so it is a must to reduce them. I am stage 4 PKD and did keto for 3 months and reversed it back to stage 3. It is a hard diet so I cheated but I am going back today because I’m worried I’m stage 4 or worse now.

Isn't it amazing how doctors just dismiss everything? I have a fatty liver from a liver test, he never mentioned it to me even after the test said I have NAFLD and also on a CT scan it said I have a renal cyst and they never mentioned it to me. Just showed up on the results. Terrific

I got a single kidney cyst im my MRT test , doctor said it’s nothing to consider! It’s stressful when doctors don’t seem to care but only when things get at it’s worse level 😢

Yes happens a lot, many don't know they are prediabetic because they don't check insulin resistance levels c -peptide test, or A1c test until you need dialysis or have a stroke.
