Hey Chris!!! The part where you’re at The Zocalo and behind is the cathedral, if you notice on the church towers especially on the right tower, the cross on the very top fell during the earthquake in Sept 19, 2017. I see they haven’t replaced it. I know, because I was there during the quake and took a picture before and after….

Every air bnb we stayed at, we were told to not drink it! However, generally speaking it is not good to drink tap water from any country if you're not accustomed to it! It can be a quick way to ruin a trip!

It is potable in a lot of areas, but for tourists why take the risk?
@TreyWitteried2 жыл бұрын
I vaguely remember being told it's potable if you boil it first, but it seems like most people just buy bottled water. I ended suffering from some pretty bad gastrointestinal distress shortly after getting a small amount of water from the shower in my mouth, which I thought I rinsed out pretty good, but microbes gonna microbe I guess. My farts smelled exactly like the wafts of sewer air in Centro for a few days afterward. Not exactly the souvenir I was planning on taking back to the states.

How is the COVID situation right now in CDMX? I’m scheduled to go there in about a week. I’ve heard things have gotten worse in recent weeks but have also heard that most of the new cases have been in unvaccinated young people who haven’t been wearing masks. I’m vaccinated and wear a mask when in public but I just wanted to see what it’s like right now from someone who recently visited or if you have any tips. Thanks
