I wanted to ask, 1) is it common for all logistics companies that own trucks to also engage in brokerage activities within the road transportation industry? 2) Conversely, 2.1)do all brokerage firms eventually aim to acquire their own fleet of trucks, 2.2) or is it typical for them to operate without owning any vehicles?

There are many brokerages or 3PL’s that don’t own trucks and won’t ever buy them. There are also a lot of carriers that own brokerages. They are very different businesses with different financing and risks, even though they both provide the same service of transportation.
