Simply PROPAGANDA and no doubt it would have been equally at home in 1930s GERMANY. And you call yourselves liberals ??? I'd call it a SMOKE SCREEN for FASCISM. America has a 5th COLUMN within and they are a Real and Present Danger to your Freedoms. To clarify .. FASCISM as used here. It is the BEHAVIOUR and INTENT that defines any ideology: NOT the pretty label they hide behind, albeit in this case LIBERALS. You are witnessing all the hall marks of FASCISM being practiced.

As Trump sees his poll numbers beginning to suggest that he has no path to victory in November .. short of martial law, theft, voter suppression, etc. ... he grows steadily more desperate and dysfunctional. I believe that the answer lies in a wholesale restructuring of our political system that would end political contributions from anyone who does not live in the district in which a candidate is running. No more PACS, Corporative contributions, etc. Make our politicians accountable to their future/present human constituents, and let's see what kind of government we can create. And construct/mandate an electoral system in which public servants come to believe that their tenure in office depends upon our opinion of the job they're doing. Make them believe that our well being, and their career, are inextricably entwined. In short, make it clear that we want nothing less than Representative Democracy.

Ashley, that by no means goes against you, just against this cognitive dissonance that exists in our western cultures. When we move to a different country, we call ourselves expats, we do it for whatever reason. When people from non-western countries do it, we call them migrants and think “they better have a damned good reason to come here“. We are hypocrits, aren't we?

@Maatkara10004 жыл бұрын
@Rohan Grin no it is not. Masks do NOT stop the virus from entering you, they stop your viruses from coming out. If you are wearing a mask but the other person doesn't, you are still getting infected. Wearing the mask has to be done by everyone. Think about the one person you see. If that was the only person not wearing mask, which wouldn't be that bad, what are the chances of you seeing him in the exact same shop you buy from at that exact same time? Very few. For you to encounter a person without a mask every time you go to town, there has to be enough people not wearing masks for the probabiblities to work the way they are doing. Now, think of all the negationists in America. Think about how an infected negationist spreads the virus to, let's say, 20 people around him. What are the chances of all those 20 to not meet anyone while not wearing a mask for the next month? Very few. Each of those 20 will spread thr virus to some other 5 people (that is, if each of those 20 wears a mask religiously), and those 5 to some other 5 each (again, if they wear masks). Do you see how the virus moves? In just three steps, 500 people have gotten infected. Knowing this, calculate what are the chances of someone around you getting infected, and multiply that by 10 for every maskless person you AND they encounter. See where I am going?

It's also frustrating living in a state that took COVID seriously, but we can't close our borders to other states. I live in New Mexico, and it wasn't perfect, but the state acted strong and early. @seanpierce45664 жыл бұрын
As a Texan, I couldn't possibly agree more with your opinion of Texans. I'm a Senior Manager of a restaurant that's stayed open the entire pandemic, not without casualties - another branch store has half its managers out from Covid and THEY'RE STILL OPEN. I'm serious when I say my customers are belittling it by comparing it with the Flu: although the flu might have a higher mortality rate untreated, it can be treated and its spread is easily prevented. Covid is not so easily stopped and currently has no vaccine and almost no way to treat its symptoms and we've quadrupled the deaths from the 2018-2019 flu season. And yet they believe otherwise. And our governor has literally stated he "doesn't plan on closing again" and he means it! Mandatory masks in public was his 'last resort to keep from lockdown' and, not only has it not slowed down the spread in Texas, he also hasn't gone through with his threat and shut down. At all. Stay away from Texans. Seriously. I wish I could but I don't get unemployment if I quit and my company ain't offering Furlough or partial/full Unemployment benefits. So here I am working with all my poor employees who also have to work to get by. We hate it. All of us.

The US itself is the laughing stock. It allows people with heavy weaponry entire government buildings to protest. It allows its kids to be slaughtered in mass shootings but does nothing about gun control. It won't provide healthcare for its citizens. The US is a toxic basketcase, we pity it.

You shouldn’t be. I came to America from Britain and the freedoms and quality of life Americans enjoy is unparalleled. I come from a poor town in northern England and this great nation offers me opportunity and lndevidual Liberty I would never have in Europe. Never take for granted what you have.

@Edward Mason Cullen it's not a hoax, it's just another Chinese flu pandemic. We had it in 1958,1968, and more recently 2010

@@SportPhilosophies The country is large, and you might've been lucky. Don't condescend. If America had such unparalleled liberty as the mythologists have always claimed, we probably wouldn't be at each other's throats about every, single thing or, otherwise, in an alcoholized daze, distracted by stupid spectacle. Frankly, the comparison to a "poor town in northern England" is silly and pointless. We left poor England behind nearly 250 years ago.

As someone who was born and raised in the US, we need serious help! It saddens me to see people of other countries care more about the citizens of the US then the majority of the people in the government and Americans themselves.

Every voter in the U.S. needs to watch this. It didn’t have to be this way. The U.S. used to have competent leadership. We will again.

@@emperorlee1406 I unfortunately identify with that. We're getting very close to regression into lynchings and true mob violence. These people cry about the Black Lives Matter Protests (for the wrong reasons), I wonder whether or not they've ever been tarred and feathered.

Emperor Lee i wish we had other options. Either we vote for two parties that have been corrupt for a long time, or we throw away our vote on some worthless party. There are many great and awsome aspects to my country, but out BS political system is nothing but a hinderance. :/
@nicolasmonty36924 жыл бұрын
@@tappedoutawhitebeltstory1967 Another option besides voting for two parties or some worthless party is just to avoid the polls altogether until there is a more compliant person running. I know its not the best option but still government overall is not too good these days. For me I just avoid the polls because politics in the US these days is to complicated and a little messed up these days.

I hope they understand that for the people who genuinely understand the heaviness of the virus, this hurts a lot. My mother is a single mother and had to file for the unemployment benefits. They want to open up schools during this despite the deaths going higher as well.

Can I ask you a question as a European (not as an insult but genuine curiosity) do you believe Biden will be better than trump or live up to Obama (since he was his Vice President)?
@stormfalcon12323 жыл бұрын
@@georgeoust I know I'm late, but I still want to answer. I don't know if Biden will be able to live up to Obama. Even if he wanted to pass laws that could make a huge difference in the way the country works, the people are so polarized that nothing will be done. So, I don't know if Biden could do as well as Obama did. But I do believe, due to the Democrats taking the majority of the Senate and the House of Representatives, that the government might work slightly more in Biden's favor. And when the 2022 Senate and House elections come, I hope that there will be more Democrats, or maybe open-minded Republicans, voted in that will help tip the scales and help enact more effective laws.
