I had one for over 3 years before having the reversal surgery. Mine was placed a bit lower than yours, it was exactly where the waistband of my pants was. Made it quite uncomfortable. My hat is off to you and anyone else that has one and is able to be comfortable with it.

Mine is placed where my pants waistlines sat. I had to buy some new clothes. A little bummed about my worn in and comfy Levi's. Mine is permanent and at 3 months in I am slowly becoming more comfortable with it. Better than the alternative.

I Feeling Much Better..I did let you know I went to have Surgery to Remove the Colostomy bag and After Surgery I Woke up with a Illestomy Bag...I Fired that No Good Ass Surgeon and Reported him to the Medical Board...He was Talking about having a Third Surgery Now he wants to Remove the Illestomy Bag...I Reported Doctor Death to the State Medical Board and Starting Next Month January 2023..I have Appointments with a Colon Rectal Specialist..Dr.Nicholai Stephens in Houston Texas Needs his Medical License REVOKE...HE IS DOCTOR DEATH))...He is Doing Several Surgery's on his Patients to get Insurance Money... I'm Reporting him to the State Medical Board...He needs to be Arrested and His Medical License REVOKE.!!!!

Some people require a temporary ileostomy during colostomy reversal. I hope you were able to be educated on why that happened. Not sure if the surgeon did anything wrong. I would not publicly name and shame him.

​@Twinklez63 hi, recovery for me was just trying to get used to the restroom. Alot of my intestines were removed so I go more often at times. Other than that it'll just take time, wishing you a great recovery ❤❤

Hi Beautiful girl, I had my bladder and prostrate removed 8 weeks ago, have had a few problems with leaks and sleeping, isn't as easy as it used to be but I'm learning every day getting better and the main thing is the pain and effects of some serious drugs for pain are finished, Thank God 😊

I guess everyone is different but I am having surgery soon which may lead to me waking up with a stoma and I ordered samples to test against my skin because I am allergic to a lot of adhesives. I want to try and make sure I know which brands cause a reaction and which brands don’t before my surgery. Within a day of trying these samples, I barely notice it, its easy to forget that you have it on. I adapt super quick to things though. Everyone is different but the end result will be the same… you will soon forget that its there. Its also about mindset. The more you put energy into thinking about it, the more it will bother you. I am glad I tried these samples, it has lessened my fear of a stoma going forward.

I'm yet to adjust to ostomy life, when i touch it hurt, and i could feel when i poop. It been 1 month plus, i just cant wait to get it over with, I'm doing 6months.i barely get a good ostomy bag here in ghana, and it not always well secure, i mean it not airtight, i can smell it every minute

1 month is not long at all. Any surgery work can hurt for up to 6-8 weeks after. How were you by 6 months? Did you reverse it?

I am waiting for reversal for over 2 years .if any one thinks they want one you can have mine. Bags don't stick ,leaks and very expensive were I live to buy them Never mind if thing in this world get to the point .were we can't get bags .then what. I hate having one. Mine was supposed to be a 2 week thing but that's to covid19 I am still waiting for Sergey.

Unfortunately had mine for a month. I'm now 2days out of the hospital. Mine is unusual ' because of internal necrosis my stoma is teeny tiny & almost more of an "inny" & not an "outy". Not all ostomies are wonderful.0

Believe me I’ve had plenty of problems with mine, but overall I’m much happier than living in the hospital and ICU with Crohns. I almost died in 2016. So sorry you have had issues with yours! Praying things turn around for you! 💜

Stay positive, you'll adjust. I've had mine for 14 years because of rectal cancer. My rectum was removed, so I'll have mine forever. Remember stay positive, you will get use to it.

You can change the bag every day if you want, but that is very expensive. The bags cost approximately $15 - $30 apiece depending on your med ins. It's the barrier you can't change every day because it's stuck to your skin with adhesive. Changing it every day will cause skin problems. They don't stink, unless there is a problem with the set up, or you try to wear the same setup for longer than 2 or 3 days. The bags have charcoal filters on them. You can't buy these supplies without a prescription from your doctor.

Speak to stoma nurse they will provide you with the correct sprays and cream will sting a little when spraying especially when there's a open wound around it 🤬 I do now and then wipe around it with vaseline but make sure it's not greasy when putting your bag on otherwise it won't stick to your skin or seal around the stoma well hope this helps . As Mrs Amber mentioned in a previous video, she struggles with hydration. With Ileostomy, you can also sometimes find it difficult to absorb nutrients from your food. If you are loosing weight, you must go and see your doctor.
