The closest word to anghkooey that actually makes sense is the Greek word "Ακούει "which is pronounced almost identically to anghkooey. This Greek word loosely translates to "listen". The issue is the children speaking Greek doesn't really fit with the presumed location of Fromvile which is supposedly located in the continental US or Canada and these kids look like they were from 18 or early 19's hundreds or possibly even earlier and there were not many Greek immigrants in the US or Canada at that time to my knowledge. Another theory which also makes sense and would probably fit better with the From mythology is the Italian word "Ancora" which means "again". In French it is "encore". While not exactly the same one could see some relationship between anghkooey and Ancora or encore. If I remember in Cajun the word is "Ancor". The kids being French or cajun would also fit if we are to presume the mythology of From has native American connection especially in Canada where the French had a great deal of interactions with the native American tribes in Canada or northern US. In short, if you put the Greek twist to the word, then the kids are warning that whatever entity is in control is "listening". If you put the Italian or french twist, then the kids are saying that whatever is happening to them or the process to be exact is happening "again" or "repeating" itself.

I'm thinking they were reading a phrase that was obscured or reflected in that room they are trapped in. Kind of like in Planet of the Apes, when the astronaut realizes that the apes' sacred land, called "Calima", was just a dirty obscured sign "CAution LIve aniMAls" aboard the crashed ship.

I won't claim to know what the word anghkooey means, but I know that if Moses heard it, he might mistakenly thinking that you said "living" in both Egyptian and Hebrew. "Ankh" is Egyptian and "chawwah" is Hebrew.
