Bags? We don’t leave bags out. The foxes would destroy them. The bin van mechanically picks up the wheelie bins and violently shakes the rubbish out of them. My son finds it a delight!

Yeah we have bins for general waste, fairly quietly shaken into the truck by the automatic grappler, boxes for cardboard, also quiet, linen sack for plastic and tin, then the dreaded glass box, crash bang wallop, everyone’s awake.

@@Man-From-Another-Place interesting, if I want to get rid of bottles and cans, I have to walk to the nearest waste collection point that takes glass and aluminium (only about 200 meters away from my place), and throw it in there myself (unless I put it in the general waste, but that's bad). Also, it's forbidden to do that on a Sunday or in the evening.
