it wasnt up to the early church to "mark" sunday as the sabbath. we shoudlnt be following what man has "marked", we should be following what Yeshua has commanded and shown us to do

Jonah Sellers ... I don't know where he gets that anyway!! Where in the NT does it "mark" Sunday as The Lords Day?! The Lords Day is the Sabbath!! ( Matt.12:8) So strange how people want to change the Sabbath to Sunday or ANYDAY!!! God sanctified and made holy the 7th day!! It is HIS Sabbath day!! If they are Christians why don't they want to remember His Day & honor it??! I don't understand this!!

Jonah Sellers I’m pretty sure that God taught Adam and Eve the sabbath...and no, I don’t believe that they immediately sinned within their first week of creation...yeah, pretty sure they had the sabbath in practice for quite some time to where it actually became habit...God rested on the seventh day and probably spent all day in the presence of Adam and Eve 🤷‍♀️ they had it made

LVRider so you don’t have any type of logical thinking? If God rested on the 7th day and He walked in the garden with them, wouldn’t that mean they knew to rest as well on the 7th day? Or is it that God rested on the 7th day and taught them absolutely nothing about anything? They were ignorant and unknowing and that’s it because it wasn’t ever written in the Bible? Did ADam and Eve have bowel movements or did their poop waste miraculously disappear because it was written nowhere in the Bible that they ever took a dump? Don’t you think that God taught His creations beautiful things and that they had it MADE before they sinned? If so, then they must have known how to do amazing things - all of which we were not told about because it was actually irrelevant because they had it MADE! They had it so good that they never probably had to put anything to use except that they rested on the day that God rested.., God had to have taught them what it means to rest because that’s what He did and he told generations following in the 10 commandments to REMEMBER to keep the sabbath holy.,,they had to get that knowledge from somewhere..,🤷‍♀️ who do you think they got any know how from originally?...
@danakarloz5845
@danakarloz5845 5 жыл бұрын
And another thing, they probably knew how to do so many things, but because their eyes weren’t opened until they sinned against God they weren’t aware of what they had learned to do...it was what we call “second nature...” they were ashamed of things only because they had eaten from the tree of knowledge... they were naked all day but they didn’t KNOW that they were naked until they had sinned. Nothing they did as God’s creations were bad or shameful until they ate from that tree. For all we know they could have been taught to dig a deep enough hole to poop in, cover it up, and watch new trees form from it! They would have thought nothing of what they did because it wasn’t necessary to know anything more about it. God delighted in their works because they probably did everything that He taught them PERFECTLY. They were PERFECT until they disobeyed Him 😔 so everything they did was probably “GOLDEN “

Glad to see the comments from so many that understand the Biblical Sabbath is Saturday. Now that we have come to the understanding that Yeshua did NOT change God's Word, we sooooooooooooooo love observing Sabbath! How anyone would call it legalistic or a burden is beyond me! It's a God-given vacation!! And we will observe the 7th day Sabbath in the Millennial Kingdom!

According to Colossians 2:16 you are NOT suppose to IMPOSE meat, drink, holy days, new moons OR sabbath days., which are shadows, and false humility. I celebrate Sabbath on Sundays. There is nothing wrong with it. If you want to celebrate Sabbath on Saturday, go ahead! But NEW Testament churches observe the sabbath on the LORD's day! the first day of the week, BECAUSE we put HIM first! ♥

@@KatAmanti Dear lady - You quote Col 2:16 without including vs 17. Note that Paul tells you that the ceremonial Sabbaths are at issue, such as the seven annual biblical festivals, _not the 7th Day Sabbath._ Why do we know that this is a fact? Because the passage specifically states that the "sabbaths", in question are *_SHADOWS._* What is meant here? Shadows are the same thing as "types" of the true and these were established because of the broken law - the 10 commandments. The 7th Day Sabbath was established BEFORE the breaking of the Law. Therefore, it cannot be a shadow. Man had not sinned at creation. The ceremonial laws - which have always been shadows, or "types" of the work of Christ were implemented after the 7th day Sabbath was instituted. Therefore, Col 2:16,17 cannot be referring to the 7th Day Sabbath.

@@treefellonya Hebrews 1:1 in these last days God speaks unto us by his Son! Christ is superior to the law and the prophets! He is mediator and our Redeemer and fulfilling all righteousness on our behalf! The gospel is ABOVE the law! New Testament Christians, and the apostles broke bread 🥖 on the first day of the week, which is Sunday! ❤ Sunday is also Resurrection day, and Pentecost was on Sunday! This is why Christians celebrate Resurrection Day on Sunday because that’s the example of the apostles! Those who impose on believers that we must worship on Saturday aren’t following the example of Acts 20:7, the New Testament believers met the 1st day of the week! Also, John 20:1, 20:19, 20:26 (eighth day = first day)… and Pentecost was also on Sunday because it fell on the 50th day ( Penta: meaning 50 days) after the Jewish sabbath.,, The disciples kept Sunday to meet! Then in Acts 15:24 it says we gave no such commandment! No commandment in the NT regarding Sabbath to be on Saturday! There are no commands in the NT to meet on Sunday, either, but there are several examples of NT believers getting together on Sunday because of Resurrection Sunday and Pentecost Sunday! Also Romans 14:5 and Titus 3:9,10! Believers should not judge other believers meats, drinks, holy days, new moons or sabbath days. We should avoid contentions about the law! And also Colossians 2:16 let no man judge you or IMPOSE the sabbath days! WHERE in the NT does it say the apostles broke bread and fellowshipped on Saturday!!??? It doesn't! In fact, the new believers were excommunicated from the synagogue and even worse! Remember Stephen our 1st martyr, and before Saul's conversion he was arresting and taking women and children from their homes and throwing them in prison for believing in Jesus. To be clear: Jesus arose on Sunday, He appeared to them in the upper room on Sunday, He breathed on them and said receive ye the Holy Spirit, on Sunday. He ate bread and fish with them on a Sunday. Pentecost was on Sunday. Peter preached his first NT sermon on Sunday. Three thousand souls, were saved, baptized, and filled with the Holy Spirit on Sunday. AND there is NO place in the NEW Testament that says they assembled on the sabbath, to worship, they always assembled on the 1st day of the week. (Matt. 28:1-7; Mark 16:2, 9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1). (John 20:19) also Acts 20:9 and also 1 Corinthians 16:2! The Sabbath is gone. The New Covenant has a NEW Day! Jesus arose on Resurrection Sunday. NT Christians put God first so we celebrate 🎉 and worship on the first day of the week, which is Sunday! We should never argue about the law ❤Including meats, Drinks, Holy days, New moons and Sabbath days. It’s so sad 😞 that many base their salvation on a particular day! And then judge and impose their beliefs on those who follow New Testament examples ❤ The Apostles celebrated on Sunday! They broke bread 🥖 and worshipped together on Sunday which is the LORDS DAY! ❤For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me FREE from the Law of Sin and Death. This is long, I know, but I have family and friends, who are trying to keep the oldness of the letter by practicing Saturday Sabbaths. It's a false doctrine. Celebrate Jesus ♥ Celebrate Resurrection on a Sunday! ♥

@Bok Choy Are you trying to say we're judaizers? Following Torah, God's Instructions for His family, and what you have named "Levitical law", is what you do AFTER you get saved by faith and grace, as a response to God's goodness. Your neighbor's kid doesn't become part of your family by following your household rules. And by the same token neither did your kids. They were born into the family. And your kids don't get kicked out for not following them. Are you also going to quote that Yeshua "fulfilled" the law and mean that He actually abolished the Torah? Which part of Torah has been done away with? Do away with Torah and you do away with the definition of sin. Have you not read the NT? "Lawlessness" equals Torahlessness. No sin, no need for a savior. Want to go down that road? The judaizers were trying to convert gentiles to rabbinical Judaism to "become saved." But rabbinical Judaism is not Biblical, and following traditions of the rabbis doesn't get you saved.

@@KatAmanti Wow! You've studied under those antisemitic church fathers and current teachers well! I'll have to get back to you on the computer and not my phone. There's so much to respond to. Sorry sister but you are sorely sorely misinformed. As we all have been. You've given all the gentile excuses of why NOT to follow the actual Text of the Bible. God's word never changes. Yeshua is the Torah. The NT is not above the OT. The sanctity of the Shabbat was never transferred to Sunday. There was already a feast of Yehovah to commemorate the Resurrection and Pentecost, which is by the way from the Hebrew Scriptures. We will celebrate Sabbaths, new moons, and the Feasts of the LORD in the Millennial Kingdom, see Isaiah 66 and zechariah 14. And the Colossians and Galatians verses you quoted about observing the days actually mean the opposite of what you are trying to make them mean. You ARE putting someone down because I am observing God's Holy Days they He instructed us too.

Did you work the other 6 days? Do you wear fringed edges? Do you understand that the law, pointed to Christ and it was about him? Nearly every jot of the law is symbolic. The new testament church is told to walk in spirit which if you understand resting from works of the law unto salvation fully trusting Christ's finished work and resting in him. Jesus told us he was Lord of the Sabbath. We rest in Him spiritually and not in the letter of the law written on tablets of stone. "If you believed Moses you would believe me, because he wrote about me". Jesus proclaimed "It is finished" on the cross. He fulfilled the requirements of the law completely nullifying the death penalty that was on our head and died in our place. Like the bronze serpeant, look to Him and you will live! Praise our Lord and Saviour for what he has done!!

Jesus defended His disciples for breaking the Holy Sabbath day commandment law by reminding the Pharisees of how David broke the levitical priesthood law by eating the shew bread in the temple. So does that mean that 2 wrongs make a right? Not at all! In the same way that Moses suffered the hard hearted jew to put away their wives (which was not so from the beginning) ... Moses also suffered the stiffnecked jew to kill those that broke the Holy Sabbath day commandment law ... as well as kill an adulterer. Jesus died on a Friday, rested on the Saturday (Sabbath) and resurrected on the Sunday. Com on brothers and sisters! Come on! Even He rested on the Saturday! We need to keep the Sabbath (Saturday) as a Holy day because in Matthew 5:17 Jesus tell us that He didn't came to change a single thing of the law. The Sabbath was set for us, people say we don't need to obbey all the fourth commandment but why do they obbey all the other nine ones? I love all my brothers in Christ but let no one tell you not to follow what was said in the 10 commandments. And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them. Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them. But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them. God gave the Law to Moses for guiding the children of Israel. He didn’t give it to Adam, Noah, or even Abraham. He gave it to the Hebrews, the nation of Israel. Today however, God’s people are known as Christians (Acts 11:26) - those who are of Christ, His Son. We are not Hebrews, or Jewish, nor Israelites. Therefore, we are not obligated or subject to that law - their law - in any way. The Old Testament (Covenant) was given specifically for them. Why then, would anyone want to use and apply things from that old law, such as tithing, or priestly clothing, or anything else that is not commanded of the Christian?

The End of the Sabbath Law - What law of commandments separated Jews from Gentiles? The Law of Moses! One of those commandments was to observe the Sabbath. Ephesians 2:11-15 - Today we are dead to the Law of Moses. That is the same law that said, 'You shall not covet' and also said, 'Remember the Sabbath day; to keep it holy.' The entire Law of Moses was nailed to the cross. Romans 7:4-7 - The only reason that we are not to covet today is because the Law of Christ commands us! Romans 13:9, Hebrews 10:1, 9 - Those who appeal to the old law make make themselves a debtor to do the whole old law. Galatians 5:2-3

I met people who celebrated the Sabbath for God, and others who did not do it, also for God. THE...is a definite article used in the English language. It does not state in God's commandment "a" Sabbath day. Plain English tells us that it is not a indefinite article here and God has a particular day of the week as sabbath. The 4th Commandment is still as abiding to us as it has been since creation in the Garden of Eden. The first generation Christians kept the sabbath with Christ without the immense exactions the Pharisees and Sadducees had laid upon it. Man was to never suffer because of the Sabbath and never was to be more important than human compassion and needs of people. Jesus healed on the Sabbath and met peoples needs on the Sabbath. And Jesus stated that he was "Lord of the Sabbath Day" (The Lord's day) Matt.12:8 And that "the Sabbath was made for man" ("Mark 2:27-28) Amazing how some say the Sabbath day is of no importance and can chose as we wish which day. Then they make all kinds of points as why the first day should be kept as a Sabbath day with no Biblical authority or outright command in it to make it holy. When God only can make things holy. Keep holy the Sabbath day is what the Scriptures teach. An institution of man's making does not supercede God's Word ! And just because there were a couple of meetings on the 1st day of the week does not make it holy ! 2nd generations kept the true Sabbath also as Paul led them. (Acts 16:13, Acts 13:42-44) The Gentile church kept the true Sabbath as Paul led it !

Witness to this truth is verse 10 lacking the definite artical "the seventh is a sabbath of the LORD" the word is "Rest" in this context and has no definition of being a day. If it did "but the seventh day" wouldn't be necessary before "a sabbath". Simple Hebrew grammar. Could you give me the proof text of sabbath since creation? Book, chapter and verse please. Jewish Christians observed the Sabbath in the Book of Acts. In a period of transition, many of the Jews did not free themselves immediately from the Law. It was mentioned earlier that the conference in Acts 15 dealt with this very matter. Some Jewish converts were insisting that the Gentile converts had to submit to certain provisions of the Law, such as circumcision. But the apostles quickly showed that God had released men from the Law. "Now therefore why do you put God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?" (Acts 15:10).

All commands of the Decalogue are repeated in the New Testament, as was mentioned earlier, except for the fourth command concerning the Sabbath. The first commandment is referenced some 50 times either by direct statement or by inference; the second, 12 times; the third, 4 times; the fourth, none; the fifth, 6 times; the sixth, 6 times; the seventh, 12 times; the eighth, 6 times; the ninth, 4 times; and the tenth, 9 times. Does it not seem odd that if God wanted Christians to observe the Sabbath, he would have communicated that to the early church in some manner? Yes, the Sabbath is mentioned many times, but not once are Christians commanded to observe it. Yet, in the Old Testament there are many ways in which God expressed his desire for the Jews to keep this day.

I love and respect Mr. Piper immensely. I esteem him as one of the great theologians of the day. His teaching is spot on, however, I feel, with this one and only exception. I think it's time for the church to ask the congregations in a secret ballot, if they would rather "keep the Sabbath, or worship on The Lord's day" [that is a fairly framed question]. SAY NOTHING ELSE TO THEM, except 'to take that simple question to their Bible' and in, say 6 weeks or 6 months, submit their response AUTONOMOUSLY. Will there be splits? You better believe it. For that I am painfully sorry, but Jesus told us to keep his commands. "For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until EVERYTHING is accomplished." Matthew 5:18. The cross was by far the greatest of His accomplishments, but far from His last. Jesus would not have made such a bold, strong, all encompassing REQUIREMENT when he knew His day of finishing the work of salvation was close at hand. Inconvenient, yes. But were we called to convenience; to brush aside and rationalize away one of the first four most weighty of His commands? How much do you love Jesus?

The fact is, Jesus brought all of the laws from the Ten Commandments over into His new covenant, except one - keeping the Sabbath. Christians are not permitted to kill, to steal, to commit adultery, or to covet just as the Ten Commandments say. We must still worship God and only Him and we must still honor our parents. However, a Christian’s obedience must come from the heart, “You shall love the lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ this is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ there is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30,31). Christians are not under the Ten Commandments, a part of that Old Law. We are under the Law of Christ.

John Piper uses Rom 14:5 for his reason for him not having to keep the seventh day Sabbath holy, he may have quoted the wrong scripture :) In the NJKV it doesn't mention the Sabbath at all in the passage. But it does mention the word EAT 5 times in the immediate verses above and 3 times in the verses below. I believe from the context it is probably talking about fasting or not fasting. Rom 14:5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. Rom 14:6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. HE WHO EATS, EATS TO THE LORD, for he gives God thanks; and HE WHO DOES NOT EAT, TO THE LORD HE DOES NOT EAT, and gives God thanks.

Piper said the the early church chanced the sabbath to Sunday as the Lords day. My question is how can any human hand change the holy scripture? Revelation tells us not to add or delete anything from the bible. I don't see anything in the bible that would confirm Sunday as the seventh day. I go to church on Sunday, but I keep Saturday holy. The fourth commandment starts of by saying remember the sabbath day and keep it holy. Why would it start off with a reminder? The sabbath points to God as our creator. He made it holy for us. We are to give glory to God by taking that day to rest and give thanks for all he is and has done for us. It's a time to gather with friends, family, relax, serve, and enjoy Jesus' presence. Although we can do all of that any other day as well, the sabbath was set apart as holy. I do agree that love should be the base for us in the faith in regards to different point of views. Love should overtake all doctrine and traditions. Paul talked about that principle.

Exactly, That verse is not an excuse to break the 7th day Sabbath. Beloved please listen carefully There are two other ways to interpret this verse and neither one is breaking the Holiness of the Sabbath 7th day of the week: One is that this people were judge exactly for keeping all those commandments and Paul encouraged them because all those commandments were a shadow of Christ. The second one is that there is a huge difference between the 7th day of creation Sabbath and it Holiness and the ceremonial sabbaths that pointed to Christ. The problem many Sunday keepers have if that they do not see the difference between Gods eternal law ( ten commandments) and the book of the law written by Moses so they used Jesus as excuses to break the ten commandments. There were many ceremonial sabbaths but they were all different meaning those ceremonial sabbaths could fall on a Tuesday or Thursday or any other day of the week. In other words Paul maybe stating to not let other people judge you if you by believing in Jesus has stop not only the animal sacrifices ( book of the law) but also to practice of the the ceremonial sabbaths ( book of the law) Finally neither of these other interpretations gives a disciple of Jesus the right to break the 4th commandments by not keeping " The Sabbath " 7th day of the week holy. So I believe Sunday is under the new law | V Luke 23:54 It was Friday, and the sabbath was about to begin. Luke 23:56 then they went back home and prepared the spices and perfumes for the body. On the Sabbath they rested, as the Law commanded. 24:1 very early on SUNDAY morning the women went to the tomb, carrying the spices they had prepared. @@natzedw2112 Luke was written decades after Christ died. The best estimates place the date of writing at around 70 (AD/CE). The correct term for the author would be "Jesus follower" or "early Christian". That's fact, and the term applies to the very earliest followers he wrote of, too. It was around the 4th century that the church fathers started wanting to distinguish themselves from the Jews by arguing against the Saturday Sabbath. Most church historians consider this move part of the beginning of institutionalized anti-Semitism in Christianity, which Luther's later writings took to the extreme. Additionally, until the 1950s or 60s (I forget the exact date) the Catholic church used to fast (eat fish instead of meat) on a Friday, in recognition of the importance of the Sabbath starting Friday evening and culminating Sunday, the day of the resurrection. The are changes within the sabbath command. Compare the sabbath commandment of Ex 16:22-30 to Ex. 20:8. The information is different, but the commands involved in Ex. 16:22-30 (rest and no work v23, stay where you are v29b) are applicable to keep the sabbath holy as commanded in 20:8. In Ex 20:8, new information is added, as the Israelites were to "Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy" this is referring to Ex. 16:22-29. God gives a comparisonative reason to "work six day and rest on the seventh". This is modelled after God's six day's of creation work and ceasing on the seventh. Now compare these two sabbath commands (Ex. 16:22-29 & Ex. 20:8) to Deut 5:12-15 and you'll see a third change. God's work of creation has been omitted and replaced with God's work of delivering the Iraelites from Egyptian slavery. Then in Colossians 2:16 we have this seventh day sabbath rest being regarded as a shadow with Jesus Christ being the substance and reality of the sabbath-shadow....the 4th change! The sabbath that was kept had Israel redemption as the memorial (Deut 5:15a, 15b). This forshadowed the redemptional rest in Jesus Christ (the reality) from sin, death and have no been 'drawn near' to God. The sabbath of 'time' rest has changed to the person Jesus Christ. The 7th day sabbath-shadow is old testament/covenant, but for christian's this is reflected in Jesus Christ.

Exodus 20:8-10 says “but the seventh day is the sabbath of the lord thy god.” Text never said SUNDAY. Sunday is the first day of the week anyway, and the only reason the ppl celebrate the sabbath on Sunday is because the Catholic Church, (church of satan) changed it to Sunday.

Joe Citizen Paul never shaved his head. Pray for discernment son. Paul took no nazarite vow the young men he took were already in a vow and were going to end it. The water purification is before the head is shaved on the seventh day and the eight day two doves are offered. The Jews stopped Paul before the seventh day was completed and ran out of the Temple by force. Knowing Paul he was going to use the men under the vow to give him opportunity to preach the Gospel in the Temple to the Jews. James is an appeaser not a Judaizer. The people were stuck in their traditions. Plus a nazarite vow is a fast not a law but if you enter a vow with GOD you better take it seriously. The strict water purification was because most vows were broken because of contact with a dead body.

This video answers the question "what does it mean practically to keep the Sabbath holy" and is not a debate on which day of the roman calendar we follow that day falls on. The preacher here mentions that Monday is his day of rest, as likely most clergy spend the majority of their weekends attending to the needs of others. I have many friends in the medical and social services fields who have an employer who dictates which two days are their "weekends" and have been impressed to learn of how they deal with the unique circumstance of having their "weekend" definition move around throughout the year and subsequently how they keep a day holy unto the Lord each week. My brother is a chaplain for one of the largest government law enforcement agencies and worked with others to have a spiritual service on Wednesday evenings to capture a large majority of those who are required to work on Saturday and Sunday. I really enjoyed the two main points of this video: Take rest and dedicate the day to God and find ways to say to God: "I love You and I reverence You and I honor You in a special way on this day". I don't often make New Year's resolutions, but this year I intend to examine and improve how I am giving a day to God to get to know Him better, to see me how He sees me, and to worship Him, serve Him, and be a better disciple of His Son Jesus Christ. Praise God.

Clearly the 4th commandment specifies the correct day: the7th day. To address the question posed here, to turn your foot away from doing your own pleasure on the Sabbath (Isaiah 58:13) means that one makes a conscious decision to keep God's specified day holy. Among recreational activities that fit this mandate are Bible discussions with fellow believers (or others), walking, listening to sacred music, writing letters or phoning friends, hosting an apres church lunch (and take turns reciprocating), watching Christian programs with accompanying discussion, (or not), sleeping, visiting "shut ins", studying the Bible if you don't have time during the week, swimming, flying a kite (which some may dispute). Ideally being with other people is best: it is not good for Man (generic term) to be alone. The body is kinetic: must move. Interacting with Pharisaical people who see everything outside of church as evil makes the Sabbath a drag: not what God intended. "Call it a delight" (Same verse)

The Laws of the Mosaic Covenant are fulfilled in Christ - The Law and the Sabbath were pointing to Christ, it was a shadow of what was to come, and not the substance (Colossians 2:16-17). Jesus said that He came not to abolish the law but to fulfill the law (Matthew 5:17). In fulfilling the law, He completed the law. How did He do this? Jesus fulfilled the Law by obeying the law perfectly and by completing the sacrificial system. Jesus saves to the uttermost! In what way can we offer one more sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins? Jesus pronouncement, “It is finished,” signified the completion and fulfillment of the law.

@@SamuelForjoe before you discount or ignore the following scriptures, consider that ALL scripture is profitable for doctrine and reproof and correction. The law never made anyone righteous, it only condemned them. 1 Tim. 1.8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; 9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for the righteous, but for the wicked and rebellious, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the profane and unholy, for those who abuse their fathers and ill-treat their mothers, for murderers, 10 For whoremongers, for those who defile themselves with males, for kidnappers of well-born sons, for liars, for perjurers, and for whatever is contrary to sound doctrine; 11 This is according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was entrusted to me. Gal.5.4 For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God's grace. Gal.2.16 Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law." Gal.3.11 So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life." Acts 21.25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication. Gal.3.5 Does he therefore who gives you the Spirit and works miracles among you do these things by the works of the law or by obedience to faith? 6 Just as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness, 7 You must know therefore that those who trust in faith are the children of Abraham. 8 Because God knew in advance that the Gentiles would be declared righteous through faith, he first preached to Abraham, as it is said in the Holy Scripture, In you shall all the Gentiles be blessed. Gal.4.5 To redeem them who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts crying, Abba, Abon, O Father, our Father. 7 From now on you are not servants but sons; and if sons, then heirs of God through Jesus Christ. Rom.8.3-9 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. The law of love is a higher standard than the ten. The law says not to murder, the law of love says if you think evil in your heart towards a brother that you are guilty of murder. The law says do not commit adultery, the law of love says to not look at a woman with lust in your heart that you have committed adultery already in your heart. The law says don’t steal, the law of love says earn money that you would have enough to give to others. The law says to love your neighbor, the law of love says to love your enemies

@@fredc61 yes I agree with you. I dont think you really understood what I wrote. Paul says that if we follow one part of the law then we must follow the whole law. And so if we can not follow the whole law then dont even try to follow parts of it since Christ is the fulfillment of the law. I do not disagree with you. But Paul was speaking in regards to the Mosaic law. Not the Ten Commandments. For example, the Mosaic law allowed a man to divorce his wife through a certificate. Yet this was still displeasing to God for "God is One hating a divorce." That law has been done away with. But the sabbath is part of the ten commandments. I know your reasoning about how the letter of the law stated one thing but Christ said to internalize it. So yes, the law said do not murder but Christ said not to even think evil against your fellow man. The law said not to commit adultery but yet Christ said not to even desire your fellow man's wife in your heart. This can be applied to the sabbath law too where the law says to honor the sabbath day and keep it holy but in a sense Christ is saying that we should not just observe the sabbath just for the sake of observing the sabbath but that we should internalize it and make it personal and look forward to it and place it in our hearts. So for example, if law, that is, the ten commandments, are not in a person's heart then one person may say, "I really desire my fellow man's wife but the law says not to commit adultery. Ok. So then I'll just lust after her in my heart." And Christ says to not even do that. So too if the law of the sabbath is not in a person's heart he may say to himself, "I really want to go and do something strenuous on this day or carry sticks on this day but I cant because it's the sabbath." Bur Christ's principle would be that we shouldn't even think that way but rather say in our heart, "I cant wait for the sabbath so that I can honor it and show appreciation to God by submitting to His will of me honoring the sabbath." Perhaps you understand my viewpoint. I too am a man still conflicted with wether the sabbath should still be observed or not, however, I'd rather be on the safer side and not act presumptuously. Besides, I love honoring my God on the sabbath on Saturday at a time where sunday worship is pushed by the devil to disrespect our Creator.

Matthew 7:21-23 - English Standard Version (ESV) 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

You break one commandment you break them all. There is a reason why God said REMEMBER to keep the Sabbath day Holy. The Sabbath day is the Lord's day, and that he sanctified it. Nowhere in scripture has it ever been changed, so let no man change it. These pastors know that the Sabbath is the true day of worship, but refuse to keep it Holy, because it'll hurt them financially. Money is more important to them, then God's commandments.

I don't understand why they believe sunday is the sabbath when the catholic church clearly states that Saturday is the sabbath but through the power of the pope they "changed the sabbath day to sunday" This is blashpemy, a man claiming to have the divine power of God, so why does his actions have weight?

Jesus delivered us from the law as a mean of salvation. Jews wanted to be saved by keeping the law. Paul explains that it is impossible to be saved by the law. We are saved by grace through faith...not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8, 9), but if you keep reading, then it says: "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus TO DO GOOD WORKS, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (verse 10). We are not saved by works, but if we are saved by grace, then God wants us to walk in his laws. Listen to Titus 2:11-12 "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age". In other words, the Grace of God teaches us to keep the law. Hebrews 10:16 says that God is going to put his laws in our hearts and write it on our minds. The law of God is still valid. God did not do away with it. Even Jesus said he came to fulfill the Law, not to abolish it (Matthew 5:17). God indeed is interested in our hearts. But the only way to know whats in our hearts is in our outter performance. So we are to keep the Law not as a mean of salvation, but rather as a token of appreciation for what God has done in our lives. God bless you!

Brother Gerardo, Everything you just said I completely agree with God bless you. Now I attend a Seventh day adventist church with my dear brother. I really enjoy their doctrine, But one thing that seems to honestly quench my spirit is when they bring up the Sabbath day. Correct me if I'm wrong please, But I have somewhat to say here and It's this, The Sabbath day has nothing to do with salvation! I want to tell people about JESUS CHRIST, I want to tell them how to be SAVED. And I get so angry when I am sitting in this church with my brother and they bring up how churches are decieved by worshiping Sunday! I say so what, WORSHIP EVERYDAY! I do not understand why are we telling eachother that we are decieved by going to church on a Sunday? If the Sabbath is Saturday which I believe it is then why don't we worship Saturday, Then Worship Sunday, then worship Monday, Then worship Tuesday, Ect. I as a disciple of Jesus live as if It's Sabbath day EVERYDAY. Not that I rest everyday, For my rest is to do the will of God and Preach Jesus! My dear brother of mine told me today that he wasn't going to help me pay for this bible college that is on my heart if they go to church ON A SUNDAY. I don't know why I have so much rage in my heart about this but I pray that It's from the Spirit of God because I have been being tribulated by Satan also this season. But I feel like I need to speak on this to every Christian. What do you think?

Dear JesusLovesYou FollowerTahj . I am a Seven Day Adventist. For adventists, the 4th commandment of the Law of God is a big a serious issue. Sabbath is the 7nth day or the week, also called Saturday. Sunday is the first day of the week, it’s not a holy day, God never intended us to keep that, no matter how many preachers teach that today. We believe the sabbath is still God’s will for our lives. But some many people are going in a totally different direction. But you are right, the most important thing in our Christian lives is Christ, the Lord of the Sabbath. Sometimes we get so caught up with the sabbath, that we forget that the Lord of the Sabbath, Jesus Christ, is more important. You can worship God everyday, (and you should) but the day God set aside for us to get into a special relationship with him, is on the sabbath. Worship God, may Jesus always be the center of your life. May God bless you, and may you overcome any negative feelings for whatever happens in your life. Let no one steal your peace of mind. Be joyful always. Take care.

But is it really the Sabbath keeping Christians who have misunderstood the Sabbath? If God said the Sabbath is the SEVENTH DAY and He said its a SIGN to be kept forever then is it really a 'misunderstanding' to actually keep it? Is it possible the misunderstanding is coming from the Sunday Church who have not heeded Peter's advice in 2 Pet 3:15-17 and MISUNDERSTOOD Paul's HARD TO UNDERSTAND LETTERS. isn't it possible that unlearned teachers who don't actually hold God's Word high enough have ignored what God said and TWISTED PAUL'S LETTERS TO THE ERROR OF LAWLESSNESS? Is it really considered 'lawlessness' to obey God's Law?

John the apostle said “I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,”- Revelation 1:10 (KJV) The question is, which day is the Lord's day? “If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:”- Isaiah 58:13 (KJV) It is Right there, God calls the Sabbath His holy day. But the which day is the Sabbath (the Lord's day)? “But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:”- Exodus 20:10 (KJV) Day seven of the week is the Sabbath of the LORD. Sunday is the first day of the week and the resurrection of Jesus on that day, gave it no sacredness, in fact their is no single verse in the Bible (I dare you) from Genesis to Revelation that shows the Sabbath was changed to Sunday (I still dare you to find that verse). He that instituted Sunday says: "The Bible says, Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath day. The Catholic church says, No! By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day, and command you to keep the first day of the week. And lo, the entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic church!" Father Enright, C.S.S.R. of the Redemptoral College, Kansas City, History of the Sabbath, p. 802 That is a quote from them boasting blasphemously of changing the Sabbath. Zimbe Jafari you are quoting the old covenant which we are not under thus in relation to the Sabbath it is not applicable to Christians; read about the doing away of the old covenant which the sabbath is inclusive was done away with in Heb8:13. Read the old covenant was done away with; (Heb 10:16) This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;" this verse is the fulfillment of Jer31:31-34. The Sabbath is a shadow and the shadow biblically don't last forever and it was pointing to Jesus, the substance who fulfilled the Sabbath. Read 2Colossians 16, 17. (Heb 10:16) . Apostle John in Rev1:10 worship on the Lord's day, Sunday when our Lord of the Sabbath resurrected and Christians honour and worship Him on this special day, Sunday. The Apostles in Acts and 1Cor worshipped on the first day of the week. The sabbath was part of the Law of Moses which God made a covenant with the nation of Israelto set them aside from the Gentiles nation like you and me are EXCLUDED from the mosaic covenant (Ephesians 1:11-12) So it is not compulsory for Christians to observe the Sabbath which was done away in Christ, Jesus. No biblical record of God in the OT punished the Gentiles who broke the Sabbath law.

@@93556108 we have to be very careful so as not to mix the Law that God wrote in stone with that which Moses wrote in the book. The one written in stone was "written with the finger of God." Exodus 31:18. It's written that in Deuteronomy 4:12, 13, that "The LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice. And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone." This is the covenant that God made with man, but due to the weakness of the flesh, man failed to keep his part of the covenant and that is the reason why God promised a better covenant when He said that, "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people." Jeremiah 31:31-33. If you read those verses with an honest heart, you will realise that God said that "I will put my LAW in their inward parts, and write them in their hearts." God is not an author of disobedience, the new covenant doesn't not nullify the Ten Commandments, He is only helping man to keep his end by giving him His Spirit to write that Law in the mind of man so as to help him to keep it, for that reason man can truly prove the words written in 2Corinthians 3:3 which say “Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.” The holy Spirit takes that law that was written in stone and engraves it in the mind and heart of the obedient person who has chosen to take hold of that which Christ did for him on the cross in dying for his sin which the Bible defines as "the transgressions of the law." 1 John 3:4. The Sabbath of the seventh day of the week, is the fourth commandment, it is right in the heart of the Law written in the tables of stone, the Bible says that "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11 If Sunday, the first day of the week, is the Christian Sabbath, how comes that Sunday worship appears in 321AD, almost 300 years after the death and resurrection of Christ, in fact their is NOT a single Bible verse that says that Christ's resurrection on Sunday made it in any way, shape or form a holy day. Here is the clincher; if Sunday worship was supposed to be part of the new covenant, was it not supposed to be instituted before the death of Christ? The Bible clearly says that “Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.” Galatians 3:15. The new covenant was confirmed or ratified by the blood of Jesus Christ, nothing could be added or taken from the new covenant. In fact, just after His burial, it is said that “And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.” Luke 23:56. If the Commandments were nullified at the cross, why didn't Christ rebuke the act of these keeping "the Sabbath day according to the Commandment"? Also we see later that John says that “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” 1 John 2:4. In other words John is saying that how can one claim to be a Christian, yet they don't keep that law of the Christian God. In fact John also specks of those that will be allowed to enter the gates of heaven in these words: “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14. It is that serious, for those that are called saints of God, it is written that “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12. The law that Christ nailed to the cross, is the ceremonial law which pointed to His first Advent. The Sabbaths spoken of in Colossians, are not the weekly seventh day Sabbaths, that is why you see the meat and drink offerings being spoken of, the are the feast days that are well documented in Leviticus 23, please read this chapter and you will clearly see the difference, it's that easy to see. "Sunday is founded, not of scripture, but on tradition. As there is no scripture for the transfer of the day of rest from the last to the first day of the week, Protestants ought to keep their Sabbath on Saturday and thus leave Catholics in full possession of Sunday." - Catholic Record, September 17, 1893. "Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change (Saturday Sabbath to Sunday) was her act... And the act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things." H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons. Nov. 11, 1895 "The authority of the church could therefore not be bound to the authority of the Scriptures, because the Church had changed the Sabbath into Sunday, not by command of Christ, but by its own authority." Canon and Tradition, p. 263 All this and more here remnantofgod.org/beastword.htm#SABBATH are boasts directly from Satan who wants all men disobedient so as to die with him in hellfire. “And being made perfect, he (Christ) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;” Hebrews 5:9 He says "If ye love me, keep my Commandments." @@zimbejafari #1. Quote;” @Tan Ewelee we have to be very careful so as not to mix the Law that God wrote in stone with that which Moses wrote in the book. The one written in stone was "written with the finger of God.” There is one law which God gave to Moses that comprised of 613 commandments of which the 10commandments which was written by the fingers of God is the core commandments of that one law given to Moses. God send His Son, Jesus in Mat5:17 to fulfil NOT destroy or abolish, ALL the law of God inclusive of Law of Moses and the Prophets perfectly. So in the New Covenant instituted by the blood of Jesus and now Christians are under the Law of Christ which have approximately 800 new commandments which Christians are required to observe. Thus Christians are not under the law of Moses with its Sabbath law as it was fulfilled in Christ. #2. Quote " Exodus 31:18. It's written that in Deuteronomy 4:12, 13, that "The LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice. And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone." This is the Mosaic covenant or old covenant but Christians are under the new covenant thus it is not binding to them. #3. You quoted Jeremiah 31:31-34 God prophesied He will make a new covenant which was fulfilled by Christ thus the old covenant inclusive of the Sabbath with the 10commandments was superseded by the new covenant so it become obsolete.(hebrews8:13) # 4. Quote “God is not an author of disobedience, the new covenant doesn't not nullify the Ten Commandments”. Biblically not true. The new covenant which Christians are under but undeniably Christians are not under the law of Moses of the old covenant which the 10commandments is a part of. They are different, new and old covenant, and when things are different they can’t be the same. # 5. Quote “in 2Corinthians 3:3 which say “Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.” The holy Spirit takes that law that was written in stone and engraves it in the mind and heart” Again not true and have make a contradictory comment. This verse says Paul stated he declared to them the gospel of Christ Paul is not claiming that he is the one who made the Corinthian believers into Christians. He is the representative. He merely delivered the letter, but it was written by Christ with the Holy Spirit of the living God, instead of ink. And it was written onto human hearts, instead of stone tablets meaning the 10commandments. So your claim that “the holy spirit takes the law that was written in stones and engraves it in the mine and heart” is contrary to the meaning of the texts. Do you realize Paul called the 10commandments written and engraven in stones as : (2Co 3:6) Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.- Paul said he was made a minister of the NT, “not of the letter” meaning the law but of the spirit that gave life; (2Co 3:7) But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:- Further Paul stated “written and engraven in stones” undeniably the 10commandments as ministration of DEATH which glory was to be DONE AWAY WITH. Again in; 2Co 3:9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.” NOTE Paul stated it was ministration of CONDEMNATION. So for you to suggest that the “written and engraven in tablets” and engraves it into the mind and heart which is the ministration of condemnation and death which glory has faded away is absolutely ridiculous and absurd as a simple common sense will tell you. Christians in the first place are not under the law of Moses of the old covenant then how can it be engraven in the mind and heart. Where did you got this ridiculous teaching from. #6 You quoted Exo20:8-11 “ the Bible says that "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work,” This commandment given by God to whom? Obviously to the children of Israel and certainly NOT to the children of the Chinese or Japanese. #7. Quote “If Sunday, the first day of the week, is the Christian Sabbath, how comes that Sunday worship appears in 321AD, almost 300 years after the death and resurrection of Christ,” This is a false statement. There is no such thing in the bible as Christian Sabbath. The Apostles and Christians were observing the observance of the first day of the weeks in acts20:7, 1cor16:1,2, Rev1:10 which is certainly before 321AD which was falsely affirmed. #8. Quote “ in fact their is NOT a single Bible verse that says that Christ's resurrection on Sunday made it in any way, shape or form a holy day” Undeniable, the first rest was from Gen2:2,3 where God took his rest on the seventh day after his creation and he set it apart or make it holy and blessed it. There is no record of any commandment that came out from Genesis. Further there is no evidence of anyone keeping the Sabbath until Moses. The first Sabbath rest command was given to the Israelites and NOT to all mankind. #9 Quote Here is the clincher; if Sunday worship was supposed to be part of the new covenant, was it not supposed to be instituted before the death of Christ?” Likewise there is not a single verse in the NT that Christians must keep the Sabbath of the OT and yet we still find Sabbath-keepers like you. Christians observed the resurrection day of Christ, Sunday the Lord’s day to honour and in remembrance of Jesus resurrection day from the dead. #10. You quoted Galatians 3:5 and I presumed you meant the law of the Sabbath with its 10commandments Paul asserted couldn’t be disannulled. Is that its true meaning? Of course not. In any case, Paul's readers understand that some contracts, even human ones, cannot be revoked or changed. They are binding no matter what circumstances follow. Paul will show that God's covenant with Abraham was binding still, even after the law was put in place. Apparently, God’s covenant with Abraham was way before the introduction of the ten commandments thus you have a false notion again. #11. Quote “The law that Christ nailed to the cross, is the ceremonial law which pointed to His first Advent. The Sabbaths spoken of in Colossians, are not the weekly seventh day Sabbaths, that is why you see the meat and drink offerings being spoken of, the are the feast days that are well documented in Leviticus 23, please read this chapter and you will clearly see the difference, it's that easy to see.” All Sabbatarians made this false claim of “the law that Christ nailed to the cross is the ceremonial law”. You failed to read the test in its context thus you made a false conclusion to fit into the Sabbath doctrine. Read this preceding verse; Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; “ The text is talking about God making alive or regeneration of those who are dead in their sin meaning salvation of mankind. In Colossians 2:14 it expand and interpreted Colossians 2:13 how those unbeliever were saved? Their sin debt which is against them because they have sinned against God and that was nailed to the cross. What has the ceremonial law got to do with salvation of mankind. From which bible you learn your theology from? Further in Lev23:1-3 God declared the weekly Sabbath as the feast of the Lord; (Lev 23:2) Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.(Lev 23:3) Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.. NOTE: verse2 God asked Moses to speak to the children of Israel concerning the feasts of the Lord. In verse 3 God then explained how to keep holy his feast; “six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest that theu don’t do any work”. Explicitly this is the weekly Sabbath that God declared his feast day in verse2. Can a feast day be a moral law? Common sense will tell you it is not but the weekly Sabbath as clearly stated must be a ceremonial law done way all by Christ thus the Sabbath law become obsolete. #12. You quoted 1John 2:4, Rev14:12, Rev22:14 these are all NT texts and by virtue of the fact in the NT Christians are not under the law of Moses thus they can’t be keeping the commandments of Moses but they kept the commandments of Christ found in the NT. #13. Please interpret for me Colossians 2:16, 17, Romans 14:5,6. Please tell me why the Sabbath commandment was left out in the NT whereas the other 9 moral laws was repeated. In conclusion, there is not a single verse that commanded Christians to keep the Sabbath which God specifically given ONLY to the Israelites and to no one else. Thank you.

In Christ Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath, I will joyfully provide evidence that Christians are Commanded by their Saviour to keep that seventh day Sabbath in the New Testament: There is biblical evidence that shows that Jesus taught His followers that after His death they would still be keeping the seventh day Sabbath and we are to see this more clearly. In Matthew 24:15-22 Jesus prophecies about the destruction of Jerusalem. Almost 40 years after He died and resurrected, this historic event did in fact take place just as He predicted it would. In A.D.66 when Cestius came against the city, but unaccountably withdrew, the Christians discerned in this the sign foretold by Christ, and fled while 1,100,000 Jews are said to have been killed in the terrible siege in A.D. 70. -Eusebius, Church History, book 3, chap. 5 70AD is most assuredly after the cross of Christ when most believe the Sabbath was changed to a new day. Yet notice what Jesus tells His apostles in Matthew 24:20 when He prophecied about the destruction of Jerusalem. Matthew 24:20, "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:" Jesus was unmistakably teaching them that they would still be keeping the seventh day Sabbath as Christians almost 40 years after He returned to His heavenly kingdom. In fact, directly after His death, when most believe the day was changed, we see New Testament Christians keeping the Sabbath holy according to the commandment. After Jesus died, the custom of the day was to anoint the body with spices and ointments for burial. But it was running late that Friday afternoon, and Sabbath was drawing near. When the women that were called to anoint our Saviour’s body finally made it to the tomb He was laid in, it was too late. Sabbath had already come, and they were unable to anoint Him. Instead these New Testament Christians, “…rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment." - Luke 23:56 Also, you will not find a single Bible verse to back up the Sunday Sabbath, God never sanctified the first day and never will because we know that He changeth not. Those who claim His resurrection to be the reason for keeping Sunday do so without any single proof from the Bible. The Bible tells us that the only way we remember His death and resurrection, is not by keeping the day He resurrected holy, the word of God clearly tells us that we do this through baptism. Romans 6:3-5 says "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:" Is it wrong to obey our Lord, aren't we told that "we ought to obey God rather than men." Acts 5:29 When reading Leviticus 23, why quote only the first 3 verses? It is because quoting it that way clearly brings out your creed, but why not add only one more verse, that is, verse 4, verse 1 and 2 say, "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts." The Lord clearly brings out His intention of wanting the children of Israel to know the feasts they ought to keep, but before He tells them the actual feast days, He clearly spells out the fact that besides these feast days, they were to still remember to keep the seventh day Sabbath holy, that is why before He tells them about the feasts, He says that “Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.” Leviticus 23:3. After reminding them not to mix up the seventh day Sabbath with the feast days, He goes ahead to say those words which expose the lie so clearly, He say, “These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.” Leviticus 23:4, then He gives the feasts starting in verse 5. Even right in the middle of giving the feast days to Moses, He stops and again reminds him not to mix up the seventh day Sabbath with the feast days when He said that, "These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day: Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD." Leviticus 23:37, 38 If there was no law in the beginning, how could Satan have been cast out of heaven, isn't it said about him that, "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire." Ezekiel 28: 15, 16. Satan sinned and sin only has one definition which is found in 1John 3:4 which says, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” That law in stone, is the law he transgressed in order to be cast out of Heaven because angels have kept that law before even man was created on earth, “Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.” Psalms 103:20 Satan knows that if he could get a person to accept Jesus as lord, keep 9 of the 10 Commandments, he has that person where he wants him. The Bible clearly says in James 2:10, 11 that "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law." Since this only part of the Ten commandments, one can also see that if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou refuse to "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy," thou art become a transgressor of the Law. May claim Christ Lord, yet they miss out what the Bible says about those that He calls His saints, these, He describes in Revelation 14:12 which says that, “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12. See, they not only believe in Christ as their Saviour, but they also keep His Commandments, it is that blunt. What many of us never realize is that, it was Christ who spoke the Ten commandments from Mount Sinai, to prove that note what is recorded in the following passages: “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:” John 5:22 Meaning Jesus is the one who the Father has appointed to be our judge. Note what other thing is spoken about the judge of all man kind: “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.” Isaiah 33:22 Jesus Christ, the judge of the world, is the Lawgiver, He gave the ten commandments from Mount Sinai, so when speaking of Jesus' Commandments, it is the ten commandments which He told to a certain lawyer who asked Him which of the Commandments was the greatest: Matthew 22:36-40 "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." How do I love the Lord with all my heart you ask? The first 4 Commandments teach us how to do that, if I love my God, I will have no other God before Him, will not make or bow down to any idol, will not take His name in vain and will Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Again, how do I love my neighbor as I love myself? The last 6 Commandments teach us that fo if I love my neighbor, I will honour my closest neighbor, Mum and dad, I will not kil my neighbor, will not commit adultery with his spouse, will not steal from him, will not bear false witness against him, will not covet anything that is his. Since Christ is the Lawgiver, we ought to obey Him rather than man, for he says “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15 This is what is involved in the new covenant, Christ putting His law in the mind and heart of the sinner to enable him keep it by Faith in Him, so as to be accepted to enter the gates of heaven, for “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14 Christ has no new law to give to man, that is why He had to come and help him. Romans :3, 4 says, "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." The righteousness that must be fulfilled in us is that of the law, so blunt. Here is a quick one, does Christ save us from sin, or He saves us to remain in sin? The answer is that obvious, He saves us to come out of sin because it's wage is actually death in hellfire. With this said, I have to ask, what is sin? The transgression of the law right? Christ can't save us to remain transgressing even just one of the Commandments, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10 May God bless the meek, Amen.

You have no biblical basis at all for declaring Sunday to be the Lord's day. Jesus said he is lord of the Sabbath. The papacy considers Sunday to be the mark of its authority, and rightly so, because they threatened, tortured, and killed anyone who they caught keeping God's Sabbath. Dan 7:25 prophesied that the man of sin would think to change the times and laws. That is exactly what the papacy did. In their catechism, which Catholics follow in preference to the Bible, the Sabbath commandment has been changed to Sunday and it starts at midnight instead of sunset.(times) The man of sin also omitted the second commandment to bring in pagan idol worship. They changed the names of gods and goddesses to become Jesus and saints. The pope then split the tenth commandment into two, so there would still be ten. Jesus warned that not a jot or tittle would be changed from the law, but here we have Catholics trying to keep 8 commandments and Protestants only 9. I thank God that we will be judged by the light that we have, but before he returns, the whole world will be presented with the truth. Every one must choose to obey God's perfect, unchangeable law or to follow tradition and the laws of man. Yes, the US will eventually make a law that everyone must worship on Sunday. The Evangelicals and Lutherans are already embracing Catholicism. The pope is using climate change and worker's rights to get legislative support for his mark in Europe. The early Protestants were right in their assessment of the pope as the Antichrist. Remember, those who break just one of these commandments and teach others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. If you have any doubt that the papacy is the Antichrist, watch Mark Woodman's video, "Who is the Antichrist". He will give 21 points of identification from the Bible to prove that it's the pope.

Constantine (325 AD) DID NOT change the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday as Sabbath keepers falsely teach. Christians never kept the Sabbath from the apostolic age (33 AD) through the time of Constantine (325AD). Constantine merely made the first "Sunday closure law", since it had already been the day Christians worship for 300 years!

I found the light within over a month ago(im not sure which day), revealing to me the darkness of this world. We are on fire. I panicked, despaired, then meditated on forgiveness. I went outside and was visited. There are beings of a higher dimension i cant really see or hear, but i felt a single touch high up on my forehead. I fear no more. Depression, anxiety, gone. It happened on a 3 day fast. I was an atheist seeking to prolong my life for my child. I quit drinking and adopted a vegan diet two years ago. I meditated to get my mind off of food. Thats when the light came to me. Completely by accident. We are awakening. Do not give in to fear.

I have read to Psalms, and now I am also studying the New Testament and I just finished John. I have also studied and done some homework/research regarding Sabbath. The Sabbath day is Biblical and is in the 10 Commandments, and it's not looking like it's just for the Jews. It's actually a day that The Lord sanctified. And the Bible tells me that it is to be kept Holy, and so we are, according to the Bible and based on my study of it, supposed to be keeping it.

the LORD's DAY is the SABBATH. Matt 12:8 - for the Son of Man is LORD OF THE SABBATH; mark 2:28 So the SON of Man is LORD even of the SABBATH; Luke 6:5 - then jesus said unto them The Son of Man is LORD of the SABBATH; Exo 20:10 - the 7th day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God.Romans 14:5-7 - one person esteems one day above another;...he who EATS, EATS TO THE LORD, for he give God thanks, & he who does NOT EAT, to the LORD does NOT EAT give thanks to the LORD.it is about fasting, meat, drink NOT THE SABBATH. the whole matter involves abstention from foods on particular days. TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT. jesus said that we should fast before God & not to be seen or let it be known by others unnecessarily. in God's sight it does not matter when one abstains or fasts, but HE does care whether we do it in a proper attitude. and if john piper says that we can make a day HOLY, then that is blasphemy. only god can make a day holy NOT man.revelation 14:7 - saying with a loud voice 'fear God & give glory to Him...& worship who made the heavens, earth sea & springs of water - (does it say WORSHIP THE ONE WHO resurrected on the 1st day?)after God created the heavens & earth - HE RESTED ON THE 7th day NOT the 1st day for the 1st day is WORK day.

Did Jesus keep the Sabbath? Certainly Jesus kept the Sabbath. He lived under the Law Moses. "But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law" (Galatians 4:4). As an observant Jew, Jesus was circumcised (Luke 2:21.) He kept the Passover (Luke 22:15). There is no mention of his observing the Sabbath after his resurrection, even though he remained on the earth for some 40 days. That would include at least five Sabbath days. The reason we find no further observance of the Sabbath is seen in the fact that the Sabbath and other Old Testament observances were abolished at the death of Christ. "When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him. Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day-things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ" (Colossians 2:13-17). The Scripture says Christ took the decrees out of the way, having nailed them to the cross. Therefore, we are not to be judged any more concerning food or drink (dietary laws), or the observance of special days (including Sabbath days) or seasons. One commentary states: "The word 'judge' here is used in the sense of pronouncing a sentence. The meaning is, `since you have thus been delivered by Christ from the evils which surrounded you; since you have been freed from the observances of the law, let no one sit in judgment on you, or claim the right to decide for you in those matters'" (Albert Barnes). The apostle Paul, by inspiration declares that the Sabbath day has no more significance to us any more than the feast days, etc. We do not live under the Old Testament system at this time.

No, the early Christians kept The Lord's Sabbath. This is clearly documented. It only changed when the emperor Constantine changed The Sabbath to Sunday. He issued that as a new law. He called that The Venerable Day of The Sun. Which was the day that the pagans worshiped the sun goddess Mithra. *I am prayerfully studying this, and must add that the facts I noted here concern me greatly. Also important to note is that this change is well after Paul wrote the scripture you referenced here. Thank you. I look forward to your response.

Gail Thomas Every day of the week is named after a pagan god. “Saturn” day. The early church gathered together every day.... Acts 2: 46 ¶ And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Even on Sunday.... Acts 20: 7 ¶ And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. There is no record in the bible of Jesus or the apostles keeping the Sabbath. The Sabbath was a day of rest. Going into the synagogues to preach the gospel, didn’t mean they refrained from working that day. In fact, they preached every day and preaching on the Sabbath may have been considered their “regular duties”. The bible says that the Ten Commandments have been abolished. We follow what Jesus taught and what the Spirit guides in our heart. 2Cor 3: 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 7 ¶ But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. 12 ¶ Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: Gal 5: 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 ¶ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 ¶ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. God bless you sister.

Evan: Thank you for your blessing. As to the subject of Jesus and the disciples not keeping the sabbath, it is well documented in the New Testament that they did. The disciples kept the Sabbath 85 time in the book of Acts. The text also says this was a regular custom of Paul, as it was also the custom of Jesus. Also, throughout the New Testament the first day of the week is called "the first day of the week" and the seventh day of the week is called "the Sabbath." I've listed several chapters and verses bellow for you to reference. Acts 17:1 Acts 13:13-15 Acts 13:42 Acts 16:11-13 Acts 18:5-11 Acts 20:6-7 Acts 2:44-47 "...meeting in the temple and breaking bread daily... " This verse seems to be referencing supper, as the believers had sold all they had and gave to each other as they had need, as the Word tells us. I'm not claiming to have all of this figured out. I'm humbly, and prayfully, studying God's Word to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. If you would like to talk about this more, in order that we may both be edified, I'll be happy to share my email address with you. 🙏

Romans 14 says it all, “.....Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand. One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.” ‭”....So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:4-14, 22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

@SKLumba Remember Jesus is both divine and human in nature. As a man, then, the Son “increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52). And like any human being after the fall, he became hungry (Matt. 4:2), grew tired (John 4:6), felt distress (Matt. 26:38), and, yes, was amazed at what he learned (Matt. 8:10; Luke 7:9; Mark 6:6; cf. Luke 2:46). Jesus could only have experienced such changes in his human nature. By seeing the genuine limitations and temporal changes in Jesus’s human nature, albeit with no limitations or changes in his divine identity, we can further see that when he says he didn’t know the timing of his return, the eternal Son of God was speaking with a human mouth, out of a human soul, with limited knowledge as a man, in perfect submission to his Father’s salvation plan.

I almost agreed with you. I'm of the view that all days are the same... and we should find a way to make each day special unto God. Plus, technically, the Sabbath is Saturday and the newtestament never changes it to Sunday. Sunday for me cannot be a rest day. Infact it tends to be the most exhausting day...more than work days. One take home is that, the Sabbath was created for (the sake of) man not the other way...it is therefore good we take a day to rest so that we don't burn out...but I still don't see how this can make whatever day more holy than another. God bless you John. God's ministry through you is touching many. Roy from Kenya... Though I'm yet to agree with Calvinism, I like you.

We must not confuse with the Law of Sabbath, the 4th commandment which said 'Remember the Sabbath, and keep it holy.' from the application of the Sabbath. The Law of the Sabbath is the same for both Old and New Covenant which is 'Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.' but the application of the Sabbath for the Old covenant was to look back to the Sabbath of the 1st creation which was instituted on the 7th day. GOD specifically told Moses to keep this Sabbath given to Adam but was lost to mankind after Adam sinned. The New Covenant Sabbath is not referring to Adam's Sabbath but the Sabbath of the New Creation. Rev.21:5 GOD has made a new Sabbath through Christ and Christ is the Lord of the new Sabbath. The New Sabbath happen to be established on the 8th day, the day Jesus rose from the dead. The Rest that we are all told to enter into is the day of the Resurrection which we remember by looking forward to its coming all the time. We all know that the Old covenant has become obsolete but the New covenant is eternal, so why go backwards and practice something that has passed away. Instead we should be remembering the coming eternal Sabbath by living holy lives and waiting patiently for the dawning of that day.

From Abel to Jacob, there was no mention. Why the silence? Lost of course! Why is JESUS the LORD of the Sabbath? He gets to decide on the Day of the New Sabbath. I get that worship was done on Sundays. Jesus rose on the first day. He appeared to the disciples on the first day John 20:19. He then appeared to Thomas on the first day John 20:26. Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2 show that they did meet up on the first day of the week. The church has followed this example for 1700 years so i'm not concerned with that. My concern is attaching Sabbath day or Holy day to Sunday. Luther was quick to distinguish the difference. I don't see Sunday as my rest day rather I see Saturday because I am busy at Church on sundays. Even Piper said the same thing. He rests on mondays. So Sunday isn't his Sabbath day. So then is there two days for the Lord? One on sunday in worship and another for rest. I don't think that can be the case if we are going to follow God's plan of 6 days work and one day rest. Well I guess it does if we then say that Sunday is still a work day. I think the big question that remains is WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE FOURTH COMMANDMENT TODAY?

Exodus 31:17 says "It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever" Romans 11:19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.26 And so all Israel shall be saved". Note: the Bible teaches that Gentile Christians have been grafted into Israel and are no longer foreigners. They are now children of Israel and get to receive the inheritance. This also means that they are to keep the Sabbath as a Perpetual Covenant between God and the children of Israel forever (Exodus 31:17).

I do think you need to listen to what he said about the verses in romans. Even though he said it’s not definitely about the sabbath, I read it as the sabbath, because I’m struggling with a friend who is very very strict about spending 10 hours a day studying on the sabbath day. And I asked the Lord about it and I was led to the verses in Romans about each man one-day all those accountable to the Lord and no one no one should condemn that man for the days all day he or she held accountable to the Lord. Just my thoughts brother God bless

But you must ask yourself, to whom God was talking to? Certainly not to gentiles like you and me as God never made a covenant with the Gentiles.(Eph2:11, 12). there is no record of God punishing the Gentiles in the OT for not keeping the sabbath. What most Sunday keeping churches dont understand is that there was a great difference from God's law and the law of Moses wich was nailed to the cross. Example 1: Gods law was written by God Exodus 20:17,Deut. 5:22. God wrote with his finger on stone Deut.10:1,22 vs Moses's law written by Moses in a book Exodus 24:3,4; Deut. 31:26. Example 2: God's law was placed inside the ark of the covenant Deut. 10:5 vs Moses's law placed next to the ark Deut 31:26. Example 3: God's las not abolished Matt.5:7 vs Moses's law was abolished ( nailed to the cross) Col. 2:14. Example 4: God's law is forever Psalm 111:7,8;119:44. Vs Moses's had limited time Heb.9:10. There are many more examples but I think these are enough to see a difference and not put them both in the same package.

Does the Bible teach the moral/ceremonial law distinction, with the old moral law still in force? To begin with, the Bible does not use the expressions moral law or ceremonial law. That does not necessarily mean the concepts are not there, but it is interesting. Looking further, the suggested distinctions do not hold up in Biblical usage. The expressions law of Moses and law of God are used interchangeably. Ezra brought “the book of the law of Moses” to read (Nehemiah 8:1), yet in v. 8 that same book is called “the law of God.” In describing the events of Jesus’s birth, Luke says, “And when the days for their purification according to the Law of Moses were completed, they brought Him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, ‘Every firstborn male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord’), and to offer a sacrifice according to what was said in the Law of the Lord, ‘A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons’” (Luke 2:22-24).

Where in the NT are we instructed to keep Saturday as the Sabbath Friday sundown to Saturday sundown is strictly a Jewish thing as Gentiles start their days with sun up to sun up. Christians are instructed to gather Acts 20:7, 1Corinthians 16:2. It originated with Christ’s Resurrection n continued from then on regardless of what happened with the Pope n Catholics

For those who believe that you should keep Sunday because the early church did should read Colossians 2:8 then go back to John 14:15. If that does not convince you try Revelation 22:14 and see how makes it through the gates of heaven. Now if you think that it is the New Covenant then show me the law that is mentioned in Hebrews 8:10. It does not say new law it says My law. I am not saying the end of the world is next week, next month or even next year. It could be years off, but it does get closer every day. If the whole world is keeping Sunday instead of the seventh day of creation (Exodus 20:11) why did Matthew write this "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13,14 NIV

by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant. Hebrews 7:22 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Hebrews 8:7 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. Matthew 5:17 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. Colossians 2:16‭-‬17 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. Galatians 3:23‭-‬25 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. John 6:47 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. I John 3:23 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. John 6:47‭, ‬56 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Hebrews 9:15 Jesus is Lord over the Sabbath, the Sabbath along with the written laws were a shadow of that to come, Jesus. Jesus came and abolished those laws. Jesus Himself is our Holy Rest (hebrews 4: 9-10) We are free in Christ and live by abiding in Christ and His love and by faith always seeking the Lord

Shalom beloved So because Jesus is your rest if you steal you dont have to repent, if you commit adultery you don't have to repent either, if you murder you don't have to repent, if you speak false testimony you don't have to repent, if you don't honor your father and mother, you don't have to repent, if you are covetous, you don't have to repent, if you worship false idols, you don't have to repent, Etc if you break any of the ten commandments you don't have to repent because Jesus is your rest and you are not under the law right? Sorry but that does not follow Paul was clearly teaching that the rest of God=Jesus is in Hebrews chapter 4. If you read the whole chapter you will notice that the people of Israel did not enter into the rest of God exactly because they were constantly breaking the Sabbath day by disobedience Hebrews 4 New Living Translation Promised Rest for God’s People 4 God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. 2 For this good news-that God has prepared this rest-has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God.[a] 3 For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said, “In my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest,’”[b] even though this rest has been ready since he made the world. 4 We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: “On the seventh day God rested from all his work.”[c] 5 But in the other passage God said, “They will never enter my place of rest.”[d] 6 So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. Noticed that the verse 3 gave us the meaning of " the rest of God" when states that it was ready since creation. That is clearly telling you that the rest of God Wich is the same as the rest of Jesus is and has always been the Sabbath day 7th day of the week. Jesus did not give his disciples the Holy Spirit so that they can now go and break the fourth commandments that He himself instituted at Mount Sinai and make it holly and blessed it at creation. They new covenant according to Jeremiah means that God is going to write His law in the hearts of both Israel and Judah believers. So from the tables of stones now they are written in your heart by the power of the Holy Spirit. It's still the same law. Jeremiah 31:31-34 King James Version 31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. James 2:17 - King James Version (KJV 1900) 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Circumcision was God's everlasting covenant to his people (see Genesis 17), and we don't need to be circumcised (see Acts 15). The truth is, Christian's are under a new covenant, divorced from the law to be married to Christ (see Romans 7:1-6), whose laws are the fulfillment of the law. The Sabbath has been fulfilled in this; rather than rest on a day from our work to survive fleshly, that is, to make food to live, we rest in Christ from our work to survive spiritually, that is, to earn our salvation. See Matthew 11:28-30 and Colossians 2:16-17. With Colossians, you may say that the sabbaths talked about there are plural, so the Sabbath isn't included. However, it makes perfect sense to include the Sabbath in those sabbaths because it would make sense that Jesus would fulfill the Sabbath in a similar way to the other sabbaths.
