Money shouldn't be an issue with the kids. By the time Volpe set to get paid, Stanton is gone, by the time it is Martians turn, Cole is off the books, by the time Spencer Jones or whoever is due, Rodon has finished his contract. Provided the prospects pan out, it is how you build a sustainable contender. It helps that one area Cashman has excelled in, is building bullpens off of low cost castaways from other teams and prospects with high end stuff from our own system. It has been a while since the Yankees signed a high price reliever. Only issues I see financially are if EVERY one of the kids we call up plays to their ceiling. Because if Volpe, Dominguez, Jones, Arias, Gil, etc all are star level players, that's a ton of money they'll cost eventually.

Michael Kay the Nationals low balled him and he knew his worth! Soto knew the Nationals were in a rebuild and he didn’t want to be part of a losing franchise they got rid of everyone from their championship year why would he stay? Soto will make more with the Yankees with endorsements and he knows his star and legacy is much brighter in the Bronx than with the Mets if he wanted to stay on a loser team and be as Kay say the alpha male he would have just stayed with Washington! Kay is wrong on all levels, Kay just loves to ruffle Yankees fans feathers!
@edwinrosario4919Ай бұрын
I agree with you to certain extent,the outrageous contracts that are being given to these players makes it look like the players just care about money. I will say that Kay is worried because of boras but at the end of the day the players make the final decision where they go and what contract they sign he's giving too much power to boras like he makes the final decisions,he screwed his players last year so his tactic of holding out backfired on him, the only difference is that this time he's got one of the best players in the game,Sotos talent sells itself
@g311musicАй бұрын
@@edwinrosario4919 I agree with you Soto or any player is not going to sign with let’s just say with Tampa Bay because they offered 10 extra million dollars per year at 10 years! Players who are on the top of their game choose where they want to play case and point Ohtani Judge and Soto are the best 3 players in baseball you can throw Mookie in there too he signed an extension with the dodgers after being traded Ohtani and Judge both picked where they wanted to play, Kay is aggravating because he talks about the Yankees like they shouldn’t over spend on players because it’s not smart business! To that I say oh really let’s check the books after this season is over and see if signing the best players is not a good business decision! The Yankees are going to make record setting profits this season and in all honesty the Soto trade is paying for itself. I’m just sick of Kay he is a negative Nancy all the time! They are the New York Yankees Soto wants to play there they better do everything in their power to sign him if they don’t do it they will regret it for a very long time! Kay didn’t even want the Yankees to spend on Judge because of his age and because he wanted 9 years he kept saying the Yankees won’t give him that 9th year but Hal is smart he knows who puts the asses in the seats, it’s not Michael Kay that’s for sure!

If you listen to Michael on his comments, he’s basically telling Yankee fans expect him to leave. We know Hal is not going to offer the highest salary year. Aaron Judge took less to stay. I know Soto is not like those clients but, there has to be some sort of hesitation now with his current clients.
