The cheapest German supermarket chocolate is currently only 0,29 EUR for a 100g bar. That is around 40 JPY. And I have to say that it is not worse than the other industrial standard chocolates like Milka, Cadbury's or other ones from the international companies. Actually, if you choose one of the premium discounter chocolates from ALDI or LIDL you will get some decent chocolate bar at a price a quarter to that of a "premium" industrial one... Of course, we are not talking about real premium chocolate which will be usually between 6 and 12 EUR per 100g bar (850-1700 JPY) 😋

I see some of them at Don Quijote but I never bought them. I like the chocolate covered almonds. Next time, I'll have to try a few when I get together with my friends. My friends and I love Meiji chocolate.

That cacao 88 might be good for cooking and baking. 70-75% cacao is about my limit. I'm,going to look for the Galbo chocolate.

I do not like coffee. Shinichi's face after trying the milk chocolate coffee bean made me crack up! And then his very polite "No Thank You" to trying the dark chocolate coffee bean was hilarious!

White chocolate is not really chocolate as it does not contain any cocoa particles. I like the very high or bitter chocolates with over 70% dark chocolate.

Cadbury milk chocolate was made with sour milk. Some sources say that has been replaced by butyric acid. In any case, it has a slighly sour taste that most chocolates do not have.

I think you may be getting Cadbury’s mixed up with Hershey’s? At least in the UK our Cadbury’s doesn’t contain butyric acid but maybe in other countries it does 🤔 here our Cadbury’s is quite sweet & creamy

@@ashleyberrisford I stated that was the opinion of others and I did later find opinions that Hersheys used it. I do not like Hershey chocolate except for the Special Dark. But even then, I like others better. Cadbury, at least at one time, was made with sour milk. It may have been cultured milk such as buttermilk.

I love darker chocolate, like 70% and up. The 88% would probably have been more suitable in cooking, not just for eating.

I like Japanese chocolate much, much more than American chocolates. They are not as sweet and just taste better than American chocolate (and I am a chocoholic)🍫

I'm off chocolate for the time being because of health issues so I'm living vicariously through you guys haha. Thanks to Satoshi, I now know why Apolo is named Apolo! From this batch, I'm most intrigued by the Libera chocolate and the almond panda cookies. I've seen Galbo before but always ignored it, maybe I'll try it soon!

Recently I read an article about a study ranking chocolate around the world and Japanese chocolate was the worst one. I was very surprised because I've always seen the commercials during TV shows I downloaded (Something like 10+ years ago, the internet was wild) and they looked so fancy... Considering what you said, it seems like Japanese people don't like strong and bitter chocolate flavor on average, so it's mostly cocoa paste. Cocoa paste has basically no taste, that's why the white chocolate took its time to give some flavour in. It's just fat and sugar and some artificial aroma.

In France we're more used to dark or very dark chocolate so for me, chocolates in Japan are too sweet. I do use the dark Meiji in cakes, it works really well! My favorite of the ones you've shown is the carré de chocolat 70 percent ! It's not too bitter and not too sweet!

Hi Shinichi and Satoshi, wow, lots of different chocolates, some I would like and some I might not like, bitter flavors are not really too much in my favor, but the one Meiji Galbo strawberry looked liked it was good, not the two layer one if it was a stronger strawberry flavor it might be better. The health ones looked pretty alright. The Panda shaped ones looked alright. I like a dark chocolate because it is supposed to be better health wise for you. I always love your food review videos, and this one had many kinds of chocolate that could be very tasty. I haven't tried japanese chocolate really, well I had poke and matcha kitkat which use white flawored chocolate. I don't like white chocolate, it shouldn't even be called chocolate as it only has coca fat in it. I find it much to sweet and flaworles.

Chocolate-lover myself, 70% dark chocolate is my limit though. Higher than that is too bitter to me😅. Will definitely try other Japanese-chocolates you guys featured here. Meiji is widely available here in the Philippines. I'm curious about DARS. Hope to find some here🙂. Again, tnx guys for this video and surely all chocolate-lovers out there were so happy😊
