Sorry but this sounds incorrect to me. The narrator reads it like a Turk with Istanbul accent. I know that old Turks were using their voice from the throat. But like in this video, modern Turkish is based on the Istanbul accent and in this accent voice is created in the mouth, not in the throat.

@@KhansDen Thanks. I am not an expert but I have had a little education on this issue. Turkey's Yörük people still talk from the throat. And most of the Turkic people in central Asia and Siberia talks from the throat too.

I doubt that they can understand the alphabet, most Siberian Turks use Cyrillic or Latin nowadays, like most other Turkic peoples And I would say other Common Turkic peoples would also understand Old Turkic since there is still mutual intelligibility between most Common Turkic languages.

Yes, I found out what and where they are. They're called "balbal" and are stones shaped with anthropomorphic forms in honor perhaps of ancient leaders or family ancestors. The Russians call them "kameni babi" or "stepi babi", which doesn't say much. They can be found in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan etc.

@@m.m.afshar6505There's a lot of genetic research online - both ancient and contemporary Eurasian genetics. I am part Lipka Tatar. Recent genetic studies of Lipkas show 30 0/0 East Asian, a bit of Caucasus, the rest West Eurasian. It is thought Tatars may've originally been Mongolian merging with Turkic culture. Eurasia is heavily mixed. Think - back and forth and back and forth for thousands of years since the domestication of the horse. Those on the eastern fringes of Turkic-Mongolian culture are more East Asian on average while the farther west, the more West Eurasian on average. There is no hard and fast genetic division.

@@Lee-jh6cr When I say “a solid reference” I mean some traveller, explorer or court men etc who is contemporary with Gokturks and have an account about them which contains their appearance description just like Muhammad ibn Ali Rawandi, a Persian historian who saw Seljuk sultans with his own eyes and wrote a description of their appearance in his book Rahat al-sudur wa ayat al-surur.

@@Lee-jh6cr There is an American documentary that searches out the genetics of a Scythian-Amazon woman, they reconstruct her face, she turns to be a brunette woman with dark brown eye color with Caucasoid features; ultimately they found her genetics has a perfect match with a Kazakh nomad girl in Mongolia named Mirangol who has bright blue eyes with Mongoloid features! The name of that documentary is “Secret of the Dead”. All I wanna say is that you can not determine ancient peoples appearance characteristics with genetic experiment especially with an unknown or biased source.
