Would be awesome to see an explanation of this with the Tascam model 12 mixer.. They use PFL/AFL and SOLO in kind of a funky way -- they incorporate it into AUX 1 & 2 and the FX and it makes my head spin to be honest.... I would pay money for that breakdown Thanks for great videos!!!!

Hi Just wanted to ask why when I set up the levels on the pfl and set fader to unity . I then slide the red master up and it feedbacks badly and cannot get master fader to reach 0 . can you help ? Thanks Colin

Make sure you are using speaker cable and not instrument/patch cable also volume on your speakers itself might be set too high. Start with 11 o'clock. Hope this helps

How does the PFL operate in relation to the USB output? There are instances where I'll have a turntable connected to a mixer & don't want the noise of cueing up the track in the main mix.

Thanks for this! I'm running this unit into an AER 60. The sound is incredibly loud with just a little bit of volume. I'm not complaining. But how do you set it up for better output sound given that you can adjust volume on the AER, the gain, the faders, and the stereo mix?

Would I turn the pfl button off before I bring the fader up to unity? Also, I have my foldback plugged into my phones jack on the Yamaha mixer (solo musician). If I use my pfl to set the channels will I not be able to change the mix in my foldback during my show?

On this exact board does it switch to “AFL” from “PFL” if the button is not selected and popped out? That’s where I’m confused

Thanks, I video a concert and the soundboard tech I think set it to PFL bc the Artist manager is asking to louder and he said the meter gauge is coming up red already, so I think he should use AFL so not to be too bother by not too loud enough sounds

Great video and thank you for all your other videos! So this mixer doesn't allow you to listen AFL to selected channels right? I was comparing this with the A&H ZED60-10Fx that have a "Listen button" (I believe is AFL) and a knob for the general PFL / AFL blend.

As a dj I always thought of it as "pre-fader listen", sort of like cue, although "pre fader level" makes more sense lol. Anyways this is a dope video, keep it up bro.

I experienced trouble when setting the gain in the mixer without the PFL button and only two main LED meter indicator lights were available, namely 'Signal' and 'Peak' only. Whereas in the channel strip there is only a 'peak' lamp, which is related to the knob gain on the channel itself. Are there good instructions sir?

Hi Jordan. Been watching your channel for a year now, since I bought a Yamaha mg10uxf and a Yamaha Ag06. I want to buy a loop station for a long time and the one that I’m considering is the boss rc-500 because I play the guitar and sing live. But today one problem arose: how am I going to set up the pedal to the mixing desk? Watched a video featuring the mg12-ux that has the group 1-2 channel (most likely a send and return feature but with a different name) but the mg10-ux just has a fx-return jack connection. The goal would be to loop both instruments after the sound processor. Any ideas? Thank you for awesome videos man.

I do have one question, though: I have a Yamaha MG12XU, when I want to send a Signal to Aux2, I have to use the the white knob which also is used for sending the effect signal. Whenever I send a signal to AUX2, it automatically increases the effect signal to stereo out at the same time. Is there a way to seperate these two functions in order to just send a signal to AUX2 without increasing the effect? I tried to google about this, but didn't find anything about it. ..

sorry, but this is so lamer's video. You didn't show how PFL is working in real situation including effects section. Basically you killed an opportunity for one great epoxide about this superb mixer or... lack of knowledge. So sorry but something like this should not to be happened. Shame really..
