I hope your government will protect them by stopping deforestation and the increase of palm oil land or else, your orangutans will just die without their forests and become extinct.

What a difference BOSF does in the world, specially for the orangutans! Everyone should wake up and ask the question: What can I do to help the world, the fauna and flora of this majestic planet. I live in Brazil, in a rural area, and knowing that across the world there are still people that care for those that are rarely remembered, these amazing primates and cousins of ours, makes me honored to be called a human being. Thank you so very much! Preserve and Love!

I look in their eyes and see the pain that we have caused and it breaks my heart. So I want to support and get the word out anyway I can. I have adopted Kopral and Shelton. You can donate to adopt specific Orangutans and funds will go to BOS. They have monthly deduction plans that make it easier on your finances. In 1974 I was a research assistant at Karisoke Research Center in Rwanda studying mountain gorillas. Since then the mountain gorilla population has increased dramatically due to research and conservation efforts. But it also took the cooperation of government for preservation and conservation to be successful. The same must happen to save Orangutans.

From what I understand, orangutans roam around 25 square miles for normal living space. Orangutans minds interpret massive amounts of detailed information very quickly when observing anything and everything. For Example if you we were to look at a very large detailed forest tree it would take an average human being around 30 minutes to observe the branches and structure and leaves and insects and small animals to get a details sense of what the tree posses and only 3 minutes for the average orangutan to do the same thing. Which means that orangutans can process massive amounts of detailed information very quickly and would require a much more rich and entertaining environment. Kind of like an untouched rain forest would provide. Without such a lush and detailed environment I fear that any orangutan would get depressed quite often. I am very pleased to see happy orangutans at the BOS facilities. It's very hard to watch videos of orangutans in zoos after seeing them roaming free and attending forest school at BOS.

As a cinematographer and big fan of the BOS foundation, we would like to extend a hand for any video help you may need. We live inside After Effects and Premier daily. But it extends to Motion Graphics, CG, edits and a lot more. we have a total of 8 years in film school between us. You know, Ive been watching the BOS foundation get better and better for many years in terms of its media. And NOW! its truly first rate. Beautiful, it now truly conveys an emotion and emotion is whats needed to turn heads to the tragedy that's been unfolding in Indonesia. If not, Ill just come film it myself. LOL, no worries, ill just clean cages i guess! lol. We love whomever has been developing your video media, it jerks a tear, it brings emotion, its what Ive been hoping for for the BOS foundation for the past 12 years.. And youve finally done it. Be proud because its gorgeous work. Should you find youselves overwhelmed, were right here to help.. And completely FREE as it should be for the hero's at

I will be donating $100 a month to the BOS Foundation so that I may see these beautiful creatures and our precious rain forests survive. Thank you for caring enough to save our humanity. i wonder why we dont have a channel for wildlife here in indonesia. i havent even seen animal planet contents on local channels since they have covered orangutan in indonesia and made me enjoy following nielsen's journey which led me here. i wish that i get educated more about the the wildlife we have in our land. i don't understand what business going on with the palm oil over there that has caused deforestation even until now. i get it that we want and have to do business in order to prosper, but we can't claim prosperity by endangering other lives when we can save both and make progression as we go. anyway is there any chance we could meet the orangutan that we've adopted if we go visit them in the conservation? and thank you for taking care of the orangutans and giving us awareness.

How can we check how the donations are used ? I really do want to help but I have been deceived by a lot of charities in the past...
@BOSFoundation6 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question! All of our finances are audited by an independent financial auditor. Financial auditors check that we are spending money the way we say we are. If you want to see an overview of how we spend our donations, please see our most recent Annual Report here -> orangutan.or.id/download-2/ All our expenditure is governed by strict regulations that maximise benefits to orangutans. On average, 90% of our donations go to activities that directly support orangutan conservation in the field, and 10% goes to administration costs that allow us to keep the organisation and our programs open every day. I hope that answers your question 😊
