What does the RAYMAN cameo in ASTRO BOT really mean?

It depends how because despite the excellent reviews from journalists and gamers, the sales aren't very high from some modern standards (The last of us 1 and 2 made much better despite being also exclusivity). I don't say it is a flop but as CEOs see more how much a game will bring money, I don't think they will all propose platform games.

Rayman 1 was the most sold PS1 game on the UK, and the game is meant to be a Playstation celebration, so that means the design is just a reference to that

The reason why they use the rayman 1 design its because almost every bot in astro bot user their first and classic design : nathan drake ,crash bandicoot, spyro, ape escape spike etc.

too be fair, Crash & Spyro's designs are pretty iconic so it's more than just a classic. Crash's head isn't based on the covers of the old games but isn't anywhere close to the remake designs either.

Assassins Creed and Beyond Good and Evil are still in the credits. So I don’t think it was swapped out with Tomba. If Ubisoft were smart they’d put a Prince of Persia VIP Bot in the game.

It’s nice to see Rayman again, but much like his Emmy award winning appearance in Captain Laserhawk and his brief appearance in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, I know he’s just there as a guest star, and not the star of his own game again. If only Rayman got another game instead of appearing in other stuff.

Yeah Ubisoft is definitely on something. They're preparing the next big game by making Rayman appear more often/making him present so he's in the head of people. I just feel that, because as a hardcore fan, this promotion of Rayman is oddly unusual … I just hope it's Rayman 4 …

Yeah, I mean in some ways Peter is the main one. But like Just_an_elli said, Miles is the main one now. His game was Spider-Man 2 and the one they *call* Spider-Man 2 (which is really Spider-Man 3) is a team up game. Miles is the guy now

If we get a Rayman 1 remake. They would most likely be a 2.5D game using 3D Model assets but it would remind a 2D Platformer. A 3D Model of Rayman 1’s classic design shouldn't be too hard with current platforms. It can work

It can't be Rayman 1.The only reason why they used his classic design is because the first Rayman on PS1 was the definitive way to play the game and it became an instant classic.I still want Rayman 3 remade so badly 😢😢😢

Imagine if it was a Rayman 1 remake... BUT! Ubisoft would just decide to use Ryemanni's "Rayman Redemption" as the game, and just "make it an official game" (with the creator getting a share of sales money for his work). Yeah, I know that's impossible, but all I'm saying is... we've already gotten a "Rayman 1 remake at home", and it's really, really good, and free to play. Meanwhile, Rayman 2 has been ported and remade so many times already, I'm not sure if we need another one (although it's still one of my favorites of all the Rayman games).

I think it’s more so of Rayman one just being the standout ps1 game so they used that design since it was before Rayman went multi platform, im not entirely sure if it’s deeper then that or just a Rayman 1 celebration

Dude can you talk about an Ubisoft game called about Child of Light. I played it when i was kid and replayed it on Steam recently and it's a very good game with nice art and good music and good everything imo (except the ending and lenght of the game)

@corkben It' a wierd choice. Just a remaster would be "too hard and not fair for today audience". Remake? In 3D or 2D? 3D would be actually like early Rayman 4 and completely new game. 2D would change this game drastically. On Origins and Legends Engine? Rayman 1 is much more complicated to remake than Rayman 2 and 3. If it's actually Rayman 1... It's kinda wierd choice. But I'm still happy about that.
