Climate change is bs. Every farmer knows weather changes from year to year. Climate alters on a longer cycle with the sun and its effect on clouds. Co2 helps plants grow. No deal brexit fears were very bad for lamb prices but since the extension they have gone through roof. Difficult to get some medicines and vaccines for animals

This is really interesting stuff. Thanks for making this. The field of linseed looks as though it has a lot of stones in it. Does that affect the soil much? Does the ground need some stones to have enough drainage?
@harrysfarmvids5 жыл бұрын
positives are stones help soil structure and support heavy machinery better, especially when wet. After that, I can't think of any other advantages to stony ground! Less soil, restrict root growth, kill combines, increase wear on cultivators, pre-emergent herbicides run off surface stone and mess up the concentration of active ingredients on the surface and can scorch crops

What effect do those anti-fungal seed coatings have on the mycorrhizal fungi that are (or ought to be) present in healthy soils? Wheat ought to be colonized by mutually-beneficial arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, but it seems that this seed coating would probably prevent that.

I think it is horse s**t that you have to pay a royalty to the seed company for seed collected and processed by you. I understand the thinking behind it, and maybe it would be fair to charge a royalty for the first time you produce seed from their proprietary mixture grown plants, but no longer. Too many altering factors, like your soil, etc., and selective seed harvesting. I'm sure they dont give any of the guarantees, etc., like when you purchase new from them. Anyhow,thanks for the first rate videos Harry!

I'm yet to meet anyone who either understands or is bothered by the red tractor sign. I really don't know if I have purchased any products with it on. It doesn't mean I just buy anything. The bread I have proving now, flour came from grist from a nearby farm, and some not to far away from me in Lincolnshire, according to the miller to increase the protein levels of the local farm.

Farming farmers are the most important profession in the world, without farmers there would be a shortage of meat, bread, beer and all the other things that keep us alive and happy. Anotther great enteretaining and educational video - Thank You Harry! Question: so is this C3 seed as it technically the third seed down/genertion from the original germination? I assume hence that you couldn't do the same reuse/dressing with what will be a C4 seed next year from this crop? Thanks!
@harrysfarmvids5 жыл бұрын
There's no rules saying you can't use C4, C5, etc seed but often varieties break down over time (start to get susceptible to foliar diseases like yellow or brown rust) and a new variety appears that you'd rather be growing anyway.

Since you use diesel engines so heavily in your work, and since you are a gear head, you may look into our "rotating liner engine" technology that we are developing to improve fuel economy and engine life on diesel engines.
