Professional musicians see songs as sections made up of bars. If you’re being paid decent money to be the rhythmic backbone of a group of musicians, it’s not so much about what you prefer, but what allows you to do your job easiest. Most of the time it’s heavy on the click and if you can’t go through the sections in your head, you haven’t been practising 😅 Being a professional musician isn’t as fun as it always sounds. Well it is, but not everything 😅

When you upgrade you'll be mind-blown. You'll feel like you went from sounding like a garage band to professionals. Monitors and an axe fx 3 are HUGE life changers. I'm not a professional musician but when I played live shows, as a guitarist, my metronome was the drummer and the drummer played at his own pace. We were all at novice/intermediate level, so unfortunately he had a tendency to speed up throughout a song. I think a click is a good crutch if you're trying to refine this skill, but seems like a lot of trouble to set up isolated monitoring tracks like this live.
