Not only you have the best cleaning tips, you are teaching me English! Your tone and pronunciation are so clear, and you use all these everyday expressions that I had never heard before. Yay, this makes my heart sing. I'm so happy for you. Thanks for sharing this. When we started this show we decided to add the close captioning so people could read along in other languages, but then we calibrated the show for 1.5 speed. If English is not your first language the speed is awesome at 1. or real time. And if English is your first language then you can speed it up 1.5 times and it zips right along. LOL. Always give us something to think about, thank you. I’m sorry if this is the wrong format to ask a new question. While cleaning a home do you ever find a piece of furniture that may have a scratch/mark on it that you need to try to repair? If so what product do you recommend?
@vickikennedy73584 жыл бұрын
I have a large hardwood dining room table that always has a tablecloth on it with a pad underneath. While removing the tablecloth and pad at 3 foot section on one end of the table has a large mooring on it. I have tried everything to get it off and nothing works. Mind you this table has had a tablecloth on it for years and it was always in perfect condition. Would appreciate any recommendations you could give me.EDIT- table has large area that has permanent impression. Almost looks like liquid sweated between the table and the pad. Tried Angela’s suggestion of Murphy’s soap and it doesn’t budge. Note: liquid did not spill and it’s a perfectly straight line across the table

Hello. I was a therapist for 15 years. I worked in a spa for awhile and did about 5 massages or more a day. Angela is right. Feel this feeling literally in your heart. Breathe deeply and just generate joy. Soon, you will have a conditioned response when you begin and feel endorphins like after a good workout. It’s an energy thing and what you put out can literally flow right back into you. When you come from compassion, energy is unlimited. Also, candles aromas and music that YOU like. I never asked what the recipient wanted, I used what motivated me, and they liked it. Don’t over give , be kind to yourself. Very best of luck😊💗

Hi! Esthetician of 15 years here. I only massage clients for about 10 minutes at a time, but most of my clients get several services in one session so I will be in the treatment room up to 2 and a half hours at a time. Also, body waxing is physically taxing. I used to look at my Saturday schedule and wonder how the heck I would pull it off! Just focus on your current client that you are working on and yes, let your good energy flow! Starting out you shouldn't be terribly busy so your muscles and attention span will grow as your client base grows. An hour flies by like it was 10 minutes now! You can do it and it does get easier! If you are shy like me, it also gets easier when you build up a clientele and know all your clients already. Of course I get new clients still, but they're fewer and I've become way more comfortable and confident over the years. Angela, your videos are helpful to so many... thank you!!!

Wonderful inspirational story.👍🏻 Reminds me of Topol, the star of Fiddler on the Roof. He played Tevye in that musical for decades....apx 3,500 performances. His talent amazed me, and when I learned that he was making his final tour, I forced my then-boyfriend to take me. He wasn't eager, assuming that something labeled "musical" would be stuffy and boring. LOL (Turns out, he loved it!😄) Anyway, I digress. What struck me was Topol's enthusiasm for the role, even after so many performances. He gave it his all, and I had goosebumps. Same with Yule Brenner when he made his final tour of The King and I...while he was undergoing cancer treatment! A true professional. It's absolutely not easy to bring your best game day after day after day. We will all fail at it. But keeping it as a goal is an important step. Thanks for the reminder.🙂

Hi Angela! I've been following you for several months, maybe even a year or more. I don't have a cleaning business but I started following you for ways to keep my house neater and cleaner. I have no idea how I've not seen this video until now. I've been a huge fan of Elton's since I was nine. (I'm a bit older than you.) I've seen him 7 times, twice on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. Everything you are saying is so true. He puts every ounce he has into each performance. He is not only a musical genius but also has an incredible work ethic. This video hit home with me right now. I am so burnt out at my job. I've only been there 8 months but I've had five coworkers, whose position shares tasks with mine, come and go in that time. I'm alone again and I am ready to give up. Maybe I need a picture of Elton on my desk, as I don't control the music, to remind me of your pep talk. 😂 I know this is a novel written on a two year old video, but if you happen to see it, thank you so much for helping me feel better at the end of a crappy day.

Hi Lizzie, as I write this, happy thoughts of Elton John made me ask Alexa to play me a song. Yellow Brick Road is playing in the background now. So hearing from you made my day, and hearing this song makes my heart sing. True story, Elton's house cleaner reached out to me - he said they had signed a NDA, so they couldn't give me any specifics but wanted to pass along that he was as cool in person as I had envisioned him to be. 😍😍😍😍😍 PS. I hope things gett better for you at work. I'm sending you a big virtual hug. 🤗

A quote from the Bhagavad Gita which I always keep close, especially on those days when I worry about outcomes more than I enjoy the work: "You have the right to work, but for the work's sake only. You have no right to the fruits of work." I take that to mean to take joy in the work. The outcomes, the rewards or failures, are often out of our control. All we can control is our attitude about the work and the quality we decide to bring to it. Fun video, Angela. Thank you.
@M_SC4 жыл бұрын
That means to focus on the process and that you’re not entitled to particular results. But it is very exploitable by capitalists to tell the workers they aren’t entitled to the wealth generated by their labour. Which they are. It probably is better before translation.
@AskAngelaBrown4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing this. You just made my day. :-)
@TheFractalStorySpinner4 жыл бұрын
@@M_SC 'Vocation' might work better. I've also seen the word 'labor' translated, but that has the same connotations, that somehow we shouldn't expect to be paid for what we do. Which is not what the quote means. The rest of the quote is about how outcomes shouldn't be the reason we get out of bed because we don't have a lot of control on how the work is received, only how we do it. So find joy in the act, which is present, not in outcomes which may or may not materialize.

Angela, first of all I have to say you have helped me immeasurably because I am messy. You have a gift and freely share it, and you are very much appreciated. I totally get what you're saying here because I know singers get sick of singing the same songs year after year just as performers on Broadway struggle with keeping up the emotions behind their roles night after night. That said, I looked up what Elton John makes per concert and back when you saw him it was $500,000 per night, and currently he makes about 1.4 million dollars per night. I can pretty much guarantee that if you and I got between $500,000 to 1.4 million dollars per house that we clean we would be pretty darn happy day in and day out all the way to the bank
@AskAngelaBrown2 жыл бұрын
It's true, if money makes one happy we would be happy as a lark. It's also true that earning that kind of money per performance comes with a price. Imagine the amount of emotional and mental pressure to perform night after night to put on a great show, and the physical strength and stamina that would be required - how? I don't feel like doing a 3 hour concert day after day, plus hair and makeup, plus travel, plus dealing with fame or crazed fans. LOL. The more I think about pulling off that kind of gig night after night in a different city - I mean WOW! And to show up and give it 110% of yourself and act like you LOVE what you do. It's pretty impressive from my view. 😍👏🙌
@M.C.Blackwell2 жыл бұрын
@@AskAngelaBrownI agree with you. money definitely can give us a feeling of security but a lot of wealthy people that "have it all" are miserable. I'm a dog walker and love the dogs I care for so much that $500,000 a day couldn't buy the happiness I have with the dogs. That said, if someone wants to pay me $500,00 per dog walk , I'll be happy to take it-! 🙂 Thank you for your guidance because I struggle with keeping up with clutter!👍

It is not easy, but for over 30 years, I've reminded myself, that the task is not what I get out of my work; rather, the task is "what can I bring to it today?" Your subscribers do it for God, or, they do their routine backwards. They share your love of Elton John & his commitment to getting the love of this music out there, for everyone to enjoy. Just listening to Elton John in the car is transformative. Seeing him? That much moreso. He is exactly the person to give you that epiphany. So, I try to clean floors and baseboards with an eye to the art, and I imagine your video giving tips as I do it. I bring music and your videos to nearly everything I do. Think about this: you inspire folks to read and re-read a chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, just to get the task done best, then they tell you & each other about their takes on translation of this epic poem from Sanskrit to English, and how you have helped them with these things. This is an elegant brilliance you share on this channel. You are rich in gifts. Thank you, for sharing them.

I have always been a fan of Elton John too. I am not sure what hit song you are talking about but the song that comes to my mind is your song which is a wonderful song and the music video is black & white. When someone gets to the calibre of Elton John these concert tickets can become quite expensive. When I go to concerts I usually take public transport and walk to the venue and if it’s a massive one like 02 arena in London I get there 2 hours earlier, check in and there may be some supporting acts, enjoy the concert and I try to leave like 20 minutes before it finishes otherwise it’s a nightmare. I know my comment has little to do with what I normally comment here but I just thought I would give a tip.

@@AskAngelaBrown Thanks for all the trust! But I do not enjoy to publicly appear. I will be honest: I am still ashamed of my role. But if you want, you can talk in private with me. I would rather let you tell about it.

Vic... There is absolutely NO reason to be ashamed! There is not a more important job out there than to care, nurture and love another human being and or their property. Please embrace and know you're blessed to be able to have that opportunity no matter if you're a man or woman. There are many who would love that opportunity. Time will go by when it's not needed anymore. And you'll wish you could do it again. 😁

What a great story. Just perfect Angela. Love this!! I love Elton's music too and this makes so much sense. Its a mindset. We have to have a good mindset each morning. I recommend checking out Dr Caroline Leaf. I am learning about having a healthy mind from her. Mind/thought👉brain👉action. We can always keep learning until we die. I have finally awakened in my life.

Thanks. And Thanks for your recommendation. If a healthy mind is of interest to you, check out this book Memory Rescue: Supercharge Your Brain by Daniel G. Amen (amzn.to/3raapuO) I heard him on a podcast and was so fascinated by his study and philosophy around a healthy brain that I bought and read several of his books. This one is especially good - its based on the concept that when your brain works right, you work right. And when your brain is troubled you have more trouble in your life. Full of golden nuggets. :-)
