Nice I'm still holding on to mine I don't whant to sell it only issue is just the head gaskets witch I'm going to replace and the water pump. Love my svx as for the transmission I took one out of a 98 outback swapped in with the 4.44 differential it was straight forward. Good video lucky I'm not the only one holding on to one.

nice man, i had a 96 svx from 2008 to 2014 as my first car. I love that eg33, amazing low end torque, the svx is way quicker off the line than most new european imports. looks great, good call holding onto the stock rims since it's so rare. i think the 05-07 wrx and sti uses the same bolt pattern and everything if you're looking to get some different rims. in terms of the handling, remember that it's a very heavy car. be careful going through stretches of road with major elevation changes, I spun out one time going through the mountains on a tight curve with a steep 9 foot drop in elevation. if you drive it hard regularly, you might want to think about aftermarket brakes as well since the svx has the same discs as a 92 impreza, which is a much lighter car.

Dude why did you give that car up?? Those things are unsung gems! I tried finding one as a first car myself but couldn't find one that could be used as a daily. But now I'm looking everywhere for one

@@BlueOvals24 I loved it, but it was about to need a ton of work. all of my onboard computers started to fail including the obdII diagnostic system, which is used for smog registration. I would have needed to get an aftermarket ecu, which would have been difficult to register and smog in california. I ended up selling it because of the upcoming electrical work, and the need for a 4 door with a larger trunk. The 9-2x is faster in the city, a lot lighter, and more nimble. I really miss the SVX though, it sounded great and the 6 cylinder boxer pulls hard through the entire rpm range. The aerodynamics actually made a huge difference in how the svx performs, there is less rolling resistance and you never feel crosswinds on the highway or in bad weather. It's also more stable at high speeds than my 9-2x, which gets jumpy at around 100mph. I took the svx up to 163 miles an hour in the on an empty road in the california desert, it was completely steady and would have kept accelerating. The engineering and build quality of the SVX are really impressive. I hope you can find one, I live in oregon and they come up for sale on craigslist all the time.

@@BlueOvals24 fortunately, it was sold to another svx owner as a platform for customization and racing, with the interior trim going into his daily driver. so at least its sacrifice saved another svx, and it may have lived on as a stripped down track day car.

I bought a 92 svx the other day for $200. Only problem was it needs a idler pulley replaced. Love the power it makes. I own a 2012 WRX and love the look of the svx and feel.

I have a 94 front wheel drive (one of 500 imported) I've had it for almost 5 years and it's been parked in my garage for 4 years due to transmission issues. I had chances to sell it but I decided to hang on to it, there isn't a cooler car in the road in my opinion. And I've owned an immaculate 04 wrx, Getting in that thing and driving it was just..... Different. I'm ordering axle seals and putting the transmission back in and I couldn't be more excited to drive it again. Keep making these videos because collector value will definitely go up pretty soon here. Great vid! Subbed.

Nice video, just a couple things. The manual mode button is just for low traction conditions. If you put the car in 1, 2, or 3, it will lock you out of any gears above that number regardless of whether manual mode is on. If you put it in 2nd with manual mode on, itll start you in 2nd gear instead of 1st for icy conditions (or more useful when the trans starts slipping in first LOL). And I heard you mention it had park assist, im not sure if that was a tongue slip, but it definitely does not have parking assist. Regardless, great work and keep making more videos.

Matt Maus I would buy the SVX as it sounds great... would need a gearbox swap though
