I owe this man a lot of thanks. Years ago, my mother had an illness and was hospitalized. I was 15. I had one of his books and what I would do is just read it, so much each night, and it gave me a lot of hope and inspiration to get through some very dark times. People can say what they want about him, all I know is that properly applied, his techniques work. Great man and great video!

Try finding a place where your life and what you do helps people. I work at front desk which pays shit but its weird because I always thought this job would lead me down a road of depression because of the lack of money and high position, but its the total opposite. I realized that it is because of what I do, in helping to make someones day better, is what fills my life up. The only thing that is pushing me away from the job is the constant awareness and simultaneous tasks everyday, but I will now always look for jobs that involve helping people because I didn't realize you can get such great feelings when you know your actions are making a person's day better.

here's several suggestions worth trying Work out why you are shy - the first step to solving an issue is understanding why you have it. Be at ease about yourself - this makes it less difficult when you are with other people. Challenge youself - you will become more confident by doing things - especially by doing activities which push your boundaries. (I discovered these and more tips on Sartar shy method site )

I can say today that I overcome by looking beyond....I knew there was greatness inside of me and I had to help other people overcome the odds. I believe that that we need to start having a better self-image and begin to speak life into ourselves every day. We all have an inner conversation with ourselves. We can overcome depression and whatever comes our way if we focus on the positive and hope for a better future.

I've opened my own business 2 months ago and have been working every single day. Waking up at 6:30am and working out for 2 hours then working my store for 12 hours. I have no social life. I'm 21, single, and I feel like the people who are closest to me (family) are out to get me. They doubt me. I'm literally driving myself insane and I feel like a robot. No emotion. I understand I have to do what it takes for my business to succeed. But the loneliness is driving me crazy. I can't connect with people who can understand my circumstances and my will to be successful. I feel like a robot with zero emotion.

After 40 years of fighting against depression, money problems, family problems, employment problems and so on and so on I'm finally starting to give up. I was once strong against it but now I'm failing mentally and physically. If I didn't have two babies to take care of I would be on the street. I only keep going for them. As a young boy I hated my father and I despised all his life choices. Then when I was 21 years old my dad stopped sucking at being a father. He died two years later. I vowed I wouldn't make his mistakes in life. So far I have followed his pathetic path to doom. In fact I think I've made an even worse life for myself than he made of his. I really don't know what to do. I feel like I'm completely fucked. Pardon my ugly language but that's how I feel.

thats exactly how i feel. and hearing it will get better is the worst. i know people mean well when they say it but things dont always get better. ive been in a black depression im so ashamed of for almost 10 years. nothings getting better. if i didnt have kids i would have ended my shit life. many people are miserable and sick or have diseases and die alone and sad. it didnt get better for them. i tried watching these videos today and they made me more depressed. i dont want a mentor-i dont want to see or talk to anyone. i understand how you feel. i wanted to be a good mother-and i was, until my life fell apart. now im a failure at that too and im so sorry for letting my kids down and feel so guilty and ashamed. "let the guilt go" these videos say. so much easier said than done. i know i cant make you feel better, but you are not alone if that helps at all. i understand you, and i truly hope something happens to help you change your life and your kids. good luck.

It's true Robins spitting some gems here, you train yourself to be e,g, depressed, positive, motivated, negative, pessimistic, optimistic, it's all in your mind and control unless you have medical issues, PTSD or other serious neurological syndromes you should be able to to rise above them and deal with them face to face not play victim, we ALL deal with some form of stress. In my personal experience I played in the mental I'm a victim card, think we all do at some point, the "why me!?" but it's being a victor and not victim that will help you move in the right direction and next level.

There is such a thing as the illness of depression-this is something (mental illness) we need to acknowledge-doesn't mean we're weak-just like drug addiction, something we need to address first. YES, I agree with everything but as someone who has lost a brother to suicide and also has SEVERE depression (not just a feeling-an illness!) WHEN it's severe, you need to START. with medication. If your mind doesn't work right it doesn't matter what anyone says.It would be like telling someone with diabetes to stop the insulin. No, keep taking your insulin and, if you can, learn new holistic ways to change your diet and get rid of your illness (another analogy would be like telling someone with Epilepsy, another mental illness, to just stop having seizures) Sometimes you need other help FIRST. Then when they starts working, when you're on the right meds, you can start changing your beliefs (along with exercise and what you put in your body) I know because NOW, after working with a great psych and on the RIGHT meds, I'm OPEN to change and not trapped in this horrible cloud of depression. And now I'm ready for a coach! :)

Conditioning and practising something like putting relevent time in reading,or listening worthwhile stuff like the one i watched ryt now can surely changes the habit and breaks the old habits of staying in stagnation or depressive emotions.. I am a drug and alcohol counselor and I am going to share a few of your ideas with my group, their brains have been rewired by their drug of choice and they think they need that drug (or alcohol) for their survival, here at 12&12 part of the treatment is to help the brain recover, by giving it recovery time and also providing therapy sessions and education classes on relapse, triggers, cravings, coping skills but, that is just head knowledge and they very rarely enact what they know. I need to help them move to that next level of taking charge of their lives. This is powerful. Thank you, Bob Long
