I've done that ride a couple of times in the mid-1980s, while in college in Burlington in my twenties. And in the summer, of course! ; ) Some of the best memories of my riding life. We took about 14 hours to complete it and were "hauling". But your riding stats are awesome! Now in my 50's living on the other coast, I often pine for those Vermont roads. Thanks for getting out there during the cold, dark chill of winter, Ted! Thanks for the inspiration!

" Because you love riding your bike" Exactly Ted, not everyone can win the Tour de France, or Roubaix, or Dirty Kanza! It doesn't matter, because like you said, we can create our own events, even if the event only exists in our own heads, all we have to do is just keep on pedalling ,and that is the beauty of the bike!!

Hey Ted. The first ride you did in 2011 got me excited to do something crazy. So, I decided to take a few days off in 2015 and extend the ride all the way to my house on Cape Cod. To date it was the best 3 days on the bike I have ever had! Thanks!

Jeesh, I took my mountain bike out on New Years Day, probably the last day I could be on trails before the snow that night, and was out for about two hours at right about freezing, and that was more than enough for me to be out. I can't imagine doing that ride.

Very impressive! I travel about Rte 100 often, but haven't driven the last few miles to the Canadian border. It's not a real bike friendly road, little or no shoulder and in winter can be a pretty rough ride. I drove from Rochester to Waterbury and back just today, the drive through Granville Gulch was spectacular with the wet heavy snow forcing branches to hang lower than usual, it was like driving through a tunnel of snow.

Is the handlebar bag aero than saddle bag? Yes I know it's better to access while riding but just asking 😉
@rafaeldegiacomoaraujo87784 жыл бұрын
Saddle bag is more aero. Handling with a handlebar bag is better if you are doing a lot of climbing, especially if you are ridding off road. Frame bags are great, just don't fill them with water.
