Whilst in Vermont Jeremy caught up with Ted King, former WorldTour pro cyclist who has now turned his hand to racing gravel. Ted's won Dirty Kanza twice and a heap of other big gravel races, so it's fair to say that he knows a thing or two about how to ride off road. He shares his insights with Jeremy whilst on a quick bike ride around his home roads.

Jeremy is awesome. Thanks GCN for helping share American biking culture to the masses! Having someone who focuses on crits would be awesome as well! I know there arent necessarily "crit specific" bikes like gravel/cx but having a crit-focused presenter would be amazing for those of us in the US where crit racing is trying to keep cycling relevant in america!

Gravel riding seems to be a bit different in the States than Europe. I guess we have a lot of semi paved farm roads and a lot of riders who want to go for miles and miles on them.
@mattgies

@@ronbyers9912 Gravel varies a lot just within the US. Here on the opposite side of the country in Oregon, you can find anything from smooth dirt roads to gnarly, deep gravel the size of your fist.

@@mattgies , good point. In more remote areas of the USA rougher gravel roads can be found. The Dirty Kansas makes sense for a gravel ride because Kansas is endowed with lots of nothing and plenty of places to find it. :)
