Apparently I've had 40 odd episodes. I only recall having one. I forget a few things now and have trouble coming up with words that I never had trouble with before. Finally got my pool this past summer and swam lots of laps. Looking forward to the warm weather and getting back in the pool. 70+ y.o.

A TIA or mini stroke normally won't leave long lasting affects, they're normally temporary. It's probably worth getting it checked by your doctor.

I have had many of these. I can feel it coming on . I get flushed and I can’t focus my eyes and I walk like a drunk . First one I had was out in my front yard . I was staggering just to get in the house. Be careful in telling your doctor about them they have the power to take away your drivers licenses. They did my dad .

I had TIA on 2017 since than I feel pain and tension behind my left eye. Someday I feel perfectly fine sometimes pain and tension..Stroke happened due to the stress at work created from bad manager. I was targeted and mistreated for over three years in row until got sick .This happened at Swire Coca -Cola Denver . I forced out of job cause I sent multiple email to corporate office complaining about my boss and provided the medical records to them. They declined the the harassment and denied that this happened at work. I worked for company for 20 years than I'm off job home and sick now..

I can relate. Full stroke with speech impairment, change in personality/perspective and seizures. I fear not though I walk thru the valley of death. I thank God every day that he loves me and is conforming me to Christ image. I now get along with God and truly listen. He make it simple (no preachers or bible needed) "Be still and know/believe that I am God. Try it five days. What do u have to loose. Adversity is God Manifesting his love.

I had a mini stroke a week ago and have been discharged from the hospital. But I’m really scared of another episode or a full stroke. I have started a health diet but exercise I’m not sure what to do. I don’t want to raise my blood pressure. But obviously need to do something I’ve joined the chair yoga. I want to start this asap but with a UTI I am getting lots of exercise back and forth. I just need to get over the fear of dying following another attack.

Hi , I just had a small stroke two days ago . Lost the right side of my body for a couple minutes. Spent a night in the hospital. I usually ride my bike so I got the exercise part down I think . I feel good no problems that I can tell . Think I got extremely lucky. I know I need to work on my diet for sure . And reduce stress . how long do you think I should wait to ride again ? I am a fifty year old man . Thanks
@ExerciseForHealth

It's difficult to answer as I don't know anything about you, but if it was a mini stroke that left no impairments and the cycling is not too intense, then it shouldn't be too long. Check with your doctor to be sure.

@ExerciseForHealth

I don't know what Core40 is but some Pilates exercises can be isometric which increases blood pressure which will increase the risk of a stroke. So I'm not saying you should or shouldn't do it, but it's worth being aware of the risk.

The TIA was caused by sepsis due to long covid vaccine and so my kidney and liver overworked to the point my blood pressure rose and gsve me the TIA. I lost weight and maintained for a long time but recently gained back because of meds. I am currently taking lots of walks to lose weight. I am on hypertensive meds and aspirin and Kidflame and neurobion but my liver enzymes rose due to antibiotics which i dont use often but because of the illness that went round i did. Get checked out by your GP. My GP has chosen to ignore my numerous TIAs. He doesn't even open his laptop to record the fact that I've had another one! They always affected my speech & sometimes my movement is restricted but it's only for a few hours. I can't phone an ambulance because my speech is always so slurred & stuttered that I can't even understand myself when I speak. My neighbours pretend that I'm invisible when I have a TIA because they don't want to get involved so I don't bother them. One neighbour witnessed a TIA & walked out my front door & went home & pretended they had been home all day. I carry on as per normal afterwards - I have no other choice but to do so. To me TIAs are more of a nuisance than anything else.

As someone how did sports all his life (40 y m), I had my first TIA (big one) last October I had to reduce my training load instead after that. I then gradually increased my "overall training" and introduced gym as well with my easy cardio. I went to compete in Ultra Running in April later but I DNF-ed after 100km with headaches and two or three weeks after I got two "smaller" TIAs in a week. Eating aspirin and cholesterol medicine since October and I'm now again really struggling to find a healthy level for exercising going forward.

Weight training is still OK for someone that has had a stroke. It will obviously depend on a lot of other factors (other associated health conditions you may have/ any impairments left from the stroke/ you ability/ fitness etc). It will also depend on what you mean by the term weight training. If it's high weight/ explosive reps/ power lifting etc, then this may be detrimental, but typical gym based exercises for sets of 10-15 reps should be OK.

Could intense sauna session help dissipate blood clot just by interval of high temperature of blood? I used to attend on sauna rituals where only few survived till end of interval. But my sensory overload is not helping me with keeping my heart untouched by my thoughts. IF not heart I would surely jump into sauna. One time it was so hot, I even felt my blood boiling, but realized it's dangerous state for my blood system and left session to slowly cool down my body outdoor.

My neurologist told me to avoid saunas (have had multiple strokes). Because your body dehydrates, the blood becomes less viscous (fluid) and the risk of clotting increases. It's been almost 5 months since my last stroke and I'm thinking about going to a sauna again in a month or so, but I'll keep in mind to drink lots of water while I'm there, to stay well hydrated.

The only way I can think that dehydration can increase the risk, is if it puts your blood pressure up, as B/P is the biggest risk for a stroke. I'm not medically trained though, so it's worth checking with your doctor to find the cause specifically for you.

Each of my videos looks at one specific condition as it would be impossible to combine all conditions and possible combinations into one video. Hopefully there will be other video advice on this channel that can help you such as my Asthma one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6XJZYtqo7GLhZo or my COPD one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHPLfmCIZbmkoNU I've also got a Bronchiectasis video in the works.

Okay please get this to the top! S is for speach problems! Not slured speach, what about stuttering! Read below! My partner just had a tmi he's had 6, four I identified, 2 he had in the past...he then forgot...or got confused as too the fact that he was having them...and no referral..was looked at in 13 years till I identified 4 myself and I dragged him the first time to a & e only too get seen by a piss over worked nurse (3 days before, Xmas 23) she didn't do his bloods then it took 18 hours....only to get sent home as it wasn't acute...it was dude... S ever is for.....

I'm not sure I understand this comment but the FAST poster in the video is a UK NHS campaign to help people recognise if someone might be having a stroke and the S stands for SPEECH (this is if someone is having difficulty speaking).
