I talked to a guy from Alaska about how fish get into places like that and he said water fowl unknowingly carry the eggs on their feet and land in the water releasing the eggs. Made sense to me.

Absolutely gorgeous spot to fish! Reminds me of Northern Ontario. There's so many lakes in Canada. Doesn't take too much to fish a forgotten lake around here. And the fall run of salmon and trout leaves nothing to the imagination as far as big fish. Every great lake leads to a huge run in the fall when you're not busy catching huge pike and bass.

Nice video Tom - subbed! 👍🏻 Just one request from a very old man - please carry your rod "butt first" in future... Back in 1962 after saving my pocket money for nearly 2 years, I'd finally saved enough to buy a classic split cane carp rod that I'd been drooling over at my local tackle shop for as long as I could remember. During my first fishing trip with it I had to walk through dense bush like you did in this video and in a heartbeat, without realising, I'd lowered the rod tip and kept walking forward - SNAP! The old man at the repair shop took pity on me and repaired it at mate's rates - but it was never the same - the magic of that work of art had been destroyed ... 😔

You have to be really, really quiet when fishing stone quarries! That moment you yelled echo, sealed your fate! Also, why not get your bait out immediately then set up your tent and sleeping bag? I fish stone quarries here in the US, and the fishing is amazing! But the fish in them are the spookiest fish, by far, that there are! You need to use really light fluorocarbon line and absolutely no additional weight, and did i mention you have to be quiet!
