One thing I do is to go to autozone or somewhere and grab a spray can of the RED grease. It comes with a spray tube like WD40 has. You take a pick and poke a hole on the rubber cover on the worm gear, stick the tube in there and spray a little red grease in there. Not much just a tad. Seems to help.

Hi Ben, watching your videos gave me the courage to find a used tcm and have it programmed with Forscan after having the clutch and forks replaced.

Ben I don’t know if you can help, P07A3 2014 focus original TCM 15k on clutch, new actuators. The clutch forks worked great checking with tool. Sometimes will not move, when it does move feels like it starts out in 2nd, car very sluggish. Getting transmission overheating warning. TCM?
@BigBensCarsAndCycles2 ай бұрын
Hi, I'd swap the clutch actuators to see if the code changes to P07A5. You may have a bad new actuator. If it doesn't switch to that code, then the tcm may have an unusual issue

Maaaaaan- The more dusty forks I see, the more a compressed air blast from valves on the transmission case right there, while on a rolling road going up and down through the gears a bunch of times while directly blasting the forks, and other areas with strong, compressed, but dry air, while collecting the clutch dust that comes out of a threaded opening around the bottom of the case someplace, which you just plug when a dust cleaning is complete, makes even more sense. 😁

@@DetroitMicroSound that's a good idea, we should do something like that!

Hi ben. Been watching your channel for a few months now. I have a 2012 ford fiesta with 244k! It drives pretty good and shifts smooth enough with the occasional 1-2 gear shutter. My only concern is when cruising at slower speeds, city traffic, 20-40mph under light throttle, ive noticed the rpm constantly rises and falls, almost like its slipping or gear hunting. Give it more throttle and the rpm will drop and itll stay steady and start accelerating. I have no codes. Any idea what this is or what i could do?

@alexpotter123456 hi, thanks for watching! I think that's either a clutch actuator getting weak and not holding the clutch firmly enough at times, or it may just be a quirk of your clutch and replacing the clutch and apply components would fix that

Hi Ben I am in the process of taking down the transmission to replace the output shaft bearing. Do you know what part number the snap ring is that hold the bearing? Thanks.
@BigBensCarsAndCycles3 ай бұрын
@zaza6151 hi, last I checked at ford the snap ring isn't available separately from the entire syncronizer. $350. So I was just careful to not expand it too much when removing, and I was fine to reuse it. Thanks for being a channel member!

@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Ok awesome i'll be carefull and reuse it then.
