My aunt had just been to the doctor, and he gave her a clean bill of health. She was fine. She was preparing for her husband’s memorial, and had even called my mom, asking her to attend the ceremony. Later that day, my aunt began to feel pain in her chest and back. Her friend wanted to call the ambulance, but she kept saying, “I just got a clean bill of health!” Ladies, what IS it with us? Do we care so much about a doctor’s feelings and reputation, that we don’t want to DARE doubt his diagnosis? Or do we trust our doctor so much, that we ignore our own bodies screaming at us to get help? Or, do we just doubt that we will be taken seriously, after our doctor has carved his recommendations in our chart? I don’t know what hold this doctor’s stamp of clean health had on my aunt, but she refused to go to the hospital until the pain was too unbearable to withstand, unaided by painkillers. So she finally agreed to go to the hospital, which then called for an airlift to another hospital that was more equipped to help her. So, why did she wait so long before getting help? We will never know. She flatlined in the helicopter, and they couldn’t revive her. 👏 LISTEN 👏 TO 👏 YOUR 👏 BODY!!! Forget about anything any doctor has told you, and listen to what your body is saying. Doctors may have spent several years studying medicine and everything about the average human body. But YOU have spent YOUR ENTIRE LIFE in your OWN body! THAT makes YOU master of your body. Trust your instincts! If the doctor’s final word seems too good to be true, and you have the slightest concern, seek a second opinion. You were given an inner voice for a reason. Don’t let a doctor’s degree overshadow your instincts. And by the way, this applies to your kids, as well. You know your kids better than any doctor. If you sense something is wrong, get help. If their diagnosis doesn’t seem right, FIGHT IT!!! Be proactive in your health and your kids’ health.

My grandmother lived to be 109. When asked why she thinks she lived so long she would say it was because she avoided processed foods, grew her own and ate less meat. The only exercise she did was working in her garden, upkeeping her home and walking a mile to church every Sunday. She prayed and took a 30 minute nap every day after lunch. She stayed connected to the people she loved.

Every adult woman needs to hear this message and take it's wisdom on board. Thank you Sara and Casey for your wisdom and knowledge and for raising awareness on the importance of cardio-metabolic health. You are saving lives with this information. I think I had almost every indicator you mention in this discussion between the ages of 23 to 50 years. It wasn't until I got diagnosed as pre diabetic 6 months ago at 50 that I started doing my own research into why my health was progressively declining. My doctor would just 'tut, tut' me at my check ups and say I needed to eat healthier and exercise more. So I would double down on doing better without being aware that it was my low protein, low fat, high carb, seed oil rich diet that was the culprit of my raft of dis-ease. I now eat keto and reduce carbs as much as possible (meat, fish, chicken, dairy and above ground veg wherever possible) My weight, energy levels and metabolic markers are all back within the normal range.

My mom’s heart attack began a week earlier, when she had a burp in her chest that she couldn’t expel. Even when she did burp, she couldn’t get rid of that feeling that she needed to burp. Each day the burp grew larger, but she couldn’t release it. The morning of the heart attack, she was halfway in the middle of the steps when she broke out in a cold sweat and felt like she had run a marathon. She told Dad to call an ambulance. Thankfully she’s still with us. If you have a burp in your chest that you can’t release, keep an eye on it. See a doctor (a female, if possible), if you don’t feel relief soon.

As he walked down the hall, he could see she hadn't moved & ran to her. She was already gone...😢 She refused to go to the hospital as she had a bad experience with surgery years before, where they were preparing her for the WRONG OPERATION! She had a very difficult recovery after the correct operation... They also almost killed my FiL by the incorrect administration of insulin when he told them he wasn't Diabetic!! So she refused the ER. My MiL had set up a doctor's appt for the next Tuesday due to having this progressively worsening pain in her back & legs... We miss her dearly.😢 She was a true treasure and lovingly welcomed me into her family as her own daughter when I married their son. ❤ We lost her way too soon...😢 Save yourself and your loved ones. @@calista1280 I’m so sorry for your loss. I had wonderful in-laws, too. I miss them both very much. I had a horrible experience with my first mammogram. I was never going to get another, because I figured that at my thin size, I would’ve felt a lump, anyway. But many years later I felt a lump under my arm. My doctor finally talked me into getting the mammogram, and I had a huge mass in my left breast. Even after KNOWING it was there, I still couldn’t feel it. Yet it was large enough to increase the size of my breast. Thankfully it was a benign tumor, but since then, I always advocate for the patient to put their health before their experiences. Yes, I have plenty of stories and just as many reasons to stay away from doctors. But when it comes to our health and lives, we can’t afford to let malpractice anxiety talk us out of getting treated. Whatever happened that frightened us is never going to be a justifiable reason to avoid medical care. When that occurs, we need to explain to our doctor what we suffered. When the doctor is aware of our experience in poor treatment, whatever it is, they will note that in the chart so they can do what they can to help us feel more relaxed. There are horrible doctors out there, but there are also really good doctors who want us to stay healthy. ❤️

Not one doc that I saw said to me, “you probably have insulin resistance, let’s test you.” Oh yeah, docs dont like to test for insulin levels! I also had abdominal adiposity. Now you would think they would have snapped to metabolic syndrome. Anyway long story short I developed DMT2. It has taken me 20yrs. to take control of my health. I switched to a plant based diet concentrating on fiber. I quit all highly processed food. I drink only water & black coffee. I have kicked back into the closet the high circulating insulin. I test my glucose every morning. My BS is in the 90s. I have lost 55lbs. My energy level has sky rocketed. Yes, I have some damage from the diabetes, neuropathy in my feet. But I feel so very much better. I have a good doc now, a woman, she is very supportive. I share my story b/c I believe it is never too late to change & I believe food, what you eat & when you eat is paramount. I also practice intermittent fasting once a week. Pss. I have a few secrets to share. Your metabolic health is dependent on your incrinen hormones GIP and glt1 that is also dependent on estrogen for women and testosterone for males when those start winding down so does the synthesis of insulin and glucose metabolism. Second secret is that the pesticide residues on your food is interrupting his delicate communication as they are made of estrogen and blockers to sterilize the bugs so that they cannot get nutrients in their guts which is also their sex tools we. It is doing the same thing to humans but much slower. And many of you use it in the lawn and gardens and eat it at the store. Just stop. Thirdly 70% of the micronutrients minerals and metals are missing from the food and your eating blanks. Malnourished. That has severe consequences over the life span. You are seeing it in aging women and men but now also kids who had no real solid food of any decent quality and I am not talking pizza and chips but that seemingly good food is drastically different then it was in 1960. 4th. Antibiotics in the food supply and what you consume in medication along with steroids are destroying your gut biota. You as a human do not metabolize anything . It’s those gut bugs and hormones and liver, sex hormones and gut hormones.

@@sl4983 1 let the cows back into the fields to poop and pee. The ammonia in their urine releases magnesium back into the soil. Also cows can build and scale up proteins from straw and hey and grass. No we can’t do that. That means from a diet of grass they convert and enhance protein from plants. And they make their own vitamins c and d. 2 eat the things further down the food chain than you. Fish the smaller the better and fish eggs, chicken eggs that have parents that fed on bugs and snakes and other things are the best. Organ meats like chicken livers and gizzards. Will give you all the vitamins and macros you need. Sardines and muscle and oysters anchovies. Load up. The plant based diet isn’t what is commercialized to be. 80 percent of it isn’t bioavailable to humans we don’t have the gut to break down the fiber to get at those polyphenols. And plant proteins are not digested in the quantities they are marketed for. Super food items are really just super profits that don’t deliver on their promise. I would suggest the government treats vegetarian foods as they do meats and dairy with as much scrutiny in advertisement and marketing because they are telling tall fins and getting away with it. Most of the chemicals in fake meat are not fda approved in the United States and all of it is manufactured in China. Not one of them is made here. But because it’s not regulated they can poison you slowly and get away with it. If you are passed fifty and menopause has gotten ahold of you stay away from sodas. That’s 46 teaspoons of bone eating phosphate and sugar you don’t need.

@@sl4983 For the pesticides, please look up the Environmental Working Group's annual list of fruits and vegetables with the highest level of pesticides. Those should be avoided or only eaten organic. They also recommend that wheat and grains and beans be organic because it's common practice in places like the US to spray finished crops with chemicals like glyphosate to kill the crop so that they can be gathered before they sprout. For the quality of food issue, if you can grow your own food in a regenerative way (building the soil vs using chemical fertilizer) or if you can buy from such growers (check your farmers market) that would help. I also take a trace mineral supplement because a lot of the nutrition loss is in trace minerals. For the hormones, this is generally seen in meats and dairy products. That's up to you, but I just don't want these anymore. But perhaps pasture raised organic will be cleaner.

Good overview of what a physician's assessment of a patient SHOULD include, but no real practical recommendations other than "track your biomarkers". Ok, and then what? Most doctors will just throw a statin or hypertensive prescription at you without bothering to look at root causes. I know my mom always lived a relatively healthy lifestyle, never ate a SAD diet for long periods of time, has done yoga for most of her life as that is the form of "exercise" she truly loves. And yet still has issues with high blood pressure, abnormal biomarkers, osteoporosis etc. Doctors have no idea why and just prescribe medication that helps marginally at best and has side effects.

We have learned this. The information about differences in men and women regarding cardiac health reached popular science, TV, magazines,... in the 1990s. Why we have this reintroduced now as shocking news at this point is stupid. The main reason some studies still are done on young men, is mainly because they are easier to observe. They are healthy, have have less additional factors that need to be adjusted for. It doesn't mean that particular differences in women are not studied and observed. In the 1950s and even upto 1980 heart attacks in relativly young men, in their 40s and early 50, were shocking, well know and a lot of focus was given there. Studies published in the 1990s showed that women did not have the same heart issues until a decade later than males, and they often had different syptoms. At some point, we need to update the facts and take the new findings from there and not muddle them together and introduce it as all new findings.

All of it totally fascinating, and completely useable information. The fact that women haven't featured much in research trials prior to the 90's is a a real travesty. The facts surrounding the subtleties of a female heart attack and how they differ from male heart attacks will never leave me. The info on the pre-eclampsia and the associated risks further down the line - life changing. And the bladder infections - antibiotics - microbiome info - again, real life enhancing, essential information. I already take HRT, will look into the CGM. Looking through the comments, will look out for Dr SG on Andrew Huberman show. Fantastic. I will try to be kinder too!

At the beginning of menopause, an old wise woman advised me to stop eating night shade vegetables to avoid getting hot flashes and take the tincture of an herb called. Black Cohosh. That stopped my intense sweating. Night shade foods include, bell peppers, eggplant, tomatoes... I can eat them some now a decade later. But that worked great without taking any hormonal meds or creams ! Save the horses !!!

You lost me when you said gender was a social construct. How can we expect reasonable care from a physician when they pedal this hypocrisy. I’ll take any physician that knows there are only two genders, and they are biological at birth. And not an assignment given. Only then can we expect to be treated fairly.

Social construct means the emphasis is gender based on Men and the guidelines are based on male models not based on female physiology
@simonspethmann8086 Жыл бұрын
Your sex isn't a social construct, but your gender (aka social sex-based behaviour) is. That used to be the consensus. The way men and women defined their roles had varied greatly over the years and across regions. (My favourite genre stereotype: Japanese seem to be utterly convinced that men are incapable of calculating, as in doing maths. 😅) It's just in recent years that this has changed. I mean, scientifically, the exact way sex is expressed or "built" in an individual seems to vary greatly, so it's not all bogus, apparently... But then social justice warriors outside of academia have taken that concept and led it into the dark woods, so to speak...

@@Little_Sidhe what they mean is that gender expression in culture varies and individuals have different personality types that make them fall along a spectrum of cultural gender normative behaviors and preferences. This is entirely different from advocating that people change their physical bodies to fit the standards and sexual functions of the opposite sex.

a) My GP is a female and I never get more than 15 minutes of her time in one sitting. I know that so I have to prepare what I am going to say, and say it fast. A female wants more time, but she is not generally going to get any more time. Brevity is important. b) Ahhh... the Patriarchy. Us against them. Good lack of emotional and psychological maturity. But it sells... marketing 101? c) Feminism has been taking its toll on females for a very long time, like at least 100 years. Woman are finally admitting that the way it was implemented just may not have been the best ways for the female being. Has it not been men that have been saying along the way that women are not men? d) Dear doctor, books are cool, but you really need to come up with a viable strategic plan that young females can follow anew else there are going to be a whole slew of new metabolically sick females in the next twenty to forty years, not necessarily anti-feminism, but a better way to do it for the well being of the females that have already started down a bad road.

@@ghostcat2467 To learn even more. To be more aware of health related topics concerning humans... both males and females. To strive for the supporting of getting rid of the marketed dogmatic rituals in ugly nutritional intake that most humans wallow in... both males and females. You may not understand that morbidly obese people are not beautiful or bold... but they are job security for the "industries" (including the two doctors conversing in this video). I have no intention of becoming a "frequent flyer", filling myself with pharmaceutical poisons any more than I will myself to eat processed foods and refined carbohydrates and pounds sugar. Maybe you care to? Then sure, you go right ahead and be unhealthy and have you 15 minutes per four dozen medical profession visits per year for you could have resolved all by yourself with the abundance of information for free (save for the time) via the Internet. You can instead blame a guy for your problems, claiming me speaking up and telling the truths, is somehow derogatory to you and females. Go ahead, be satisfied that you are unhappy and miserable while you put on too much make up and that fake persona of being pleasant. All the while, the whole video is speaking to you... and you just seemed to have missed the point.

She is smart and I have learned a lot from her, but the feminist lefty BS that she goes to is annoying. Woman have been In education and science for long enough to have fixed the patriarch influence, so what do they have to show for it right? They have ideology. The science behind men not being women is true. Most models have been created off that criteria for many years in many medical fields, but I think if the women in the education system would have focused on problems like that instead of ideology it would have changed faster. I do get tired of the feminist dribble. Women are responsible for themselves there is nothing stopping them from doing their own research. If there isnt a lot available, then look harder. I am a woman, I have a daughter, I am not educated, yet I have found substantial science that has improved the health of both my children and myself, our blood work shows. And I’ve had most doctors dismiss the same stuff everybody else did, guess what I figured out how to get a doctor that listened, and I also don’t rely on a doctor to just fix me or my kids, I participate in the process. I make my doctors work for me, I am paying them… If we could all just stop with the feelings and look at the facts this drivel would go away

If you're a man, it's completely understandable that you have no direct experience of the effects of patriarchy on women. If you open your eyes, ears and heart, you may notice some of the effects on women. At best you'll be observing, not experiencing, but that's better than not noticing at all 🤗xx

Reduce the population by teaching and promoting the humane ways to do this and we can eat meat.
