That poor dog! The owners obviously have a lovely home and so can afford for that poor dog to be groomed more often. That dog has been neglected and looks broken! I have been grooming for years and never had such a dog on my table that looks so broken! Absolutely shameful and unforgivable! However, you have done a brilliant job on her and I am so impressed with the time you took to remove all the grass seeds that must of taken ages. Well done for making her life happy again.
@Kirmeins6 ай бұрын
There is a suspicious amount of "broken looking" dogs on the table in this channel. In some cases, the same dogs that looked very lively and happy when they are picked up for their grooming. From what I've seen so far, I concluded that the channel owners deliberately (mis)classify sleeping and calming drugs as "no sedation" - possibly because they're worried that some may not like to hear it. So, don't worry, these dogs are not broken, just very out of it, for the sake of their and the groomers safety. :)

I have an English Cocker, and I'm alarmed at the terrible condition she was in. Very neglected. And she definitely is not groomed every 2 months. In addition to the wounds (which how did they not notice those?) and the foxgrass, she had a terrible mange or other skin condition. She was also breathing very heavily, considering she was "sleepy". I don't think she was sleepy, I think she had infection coursing through her veins, and was very very sick. And skinny! Poor thing. I also don't understand why her tail was cropped so short. I think she's been suffering her whole life. Bless you for helping her! And I really hope her situation is better now, but unfortunately I have my doubts that much will change. You said they are friends of yours, so I hope you will check on her.

the green thing on her paws is called brilliant green. it is a dye and an antiseptic, but it is not used in veterinary. it's a common home remedy in Easter Europe for desinfecting wounds, although it mostly burns the skin and doesn't let it heal properly. so it was clear for me from the start that her owners lied about visiting the vet

I've come to comment this. It's a real problem here where I live when people bring dogs with those "home remedy" that they listened from their grandpas or an random G search. The client lie to the Vet and expect we believe in them, bruh. There's some cases that would have a tottally different treatment If the client just tell us the truth. It's not like a Vet will judge a person with less condition, it's not a shame, but we surely judge you If you lie about your pet real living conditions.

@@rustyhowe3907 Dude, chill. Most cows with sore skin on their feet will be just fine with the kind of treatment they tried to give their dog. I bet you that was ignorance on their part, thinking it was just a superficial problem. Why not try to use a treatment they know to be effective with their cows? They did reach out to the groomer when they realised the problem didn't go away. Plus, sending her to the groomer first was also a good call considering a groomer is way more experienced at getting rid of all the excess hair and has the better tools for it - that hair needed to come of anyway before the vet could treat her properly. For all we know, they might've phoned the vet first and the vet told them to get the dog to a groomer and then straight to them afterward. I for one do not believe the one-sided story we get told. Not after seeing *very* obvious signs of this dog being heavily sedated during the trimming but being told "she is not sedated, just very sleepy" - yeah, depends what you define as sedation. But I take every word with a grain of doubt here...
@rustyhowe39076 ай бұрын
@@Kirmeins No-one should believe any story thrown up to the internet agreed, but it's very obvious whoever is her owners/caretakers are doing a shockingly poor job of it. Yes it's good she got the help she needed, but only because her condition was dire and *that's* the part that annoys me. I grew up country and learned about the maintenance of many critters, cows included, so I understand your point of view but I have my limits too. Thinking some antiseptic spray will make the problem go away is just trying to avoid a vet bill. This is neglect, no two ways about it even if we don't believe the narration 100% due to the supposed 0-sedative as you said, the dog to me looks shut down and miserable but indeed that could be sedation instead. I work in disability care for the aging old folk and their condition when they come in is shockingly parallel.

You were angels in disguise to care for Didi the way you did! I was a vet tech for many years and I can attest to the fact that Didi was not just “sleeping” through that grooming. She was obviously sick and suffering and had she continued on that way without your care for her, the owners may have ended up with a seriously sick dog or worse. They are your friends - so please keep reminding them of the importance of regular grooming AND keeping Didi indoors. You are wonderful people so I am now going to become a subscriber.😊

They're angels and not even in any disguise 🥸. But if they're friends of yours why do they not love and care for their dog better than this?
@Kirmeins6 ай бұрын
Uhu... "sleeping" while breathing very fast and not reacting to anything. :D Yes, she's very sick at this point. But also drugged - just watch some other videos from this channel and compare the dogs and how each behaves before, during and after treatment. Heard them literally say in another video how that particular dog could *not be sedated due to health concerns*. Read: Dogs usually get sedated but some ignorant people likely flamed the channel owners for it, so they now gloss over the fact that they do it. I don't like being outright lied to, but I understand that telling the truth can be dangerous on a social media platform. Also, out of the few grooming channels I've seen this is the best and they're the gentlest and best in care - also because of sedations which I wish others would use more freely. Reduces stress and trauma by 95%. Still. Not just sleeping and not just sick. ^^ Keeping a dog indoors only isn't dog friendly either. Nightly paw checks and brushing sessions twice a week is what she needs on top of more regular grooms and immediate vet care if this problem arises again. Then she can run around all she likes - no need to lock her up like a prisoner for most of the day. :)

Didi is gorgeous, her copper colour is stunning. Love the long hair especially those furry ears, so cute. Didi would be exhausted plus you have a nice warm and quiet grooming salon. I think she was appreciating the rest, plus she wasn't standing on those sore paws. I was wondering if her tiredness was in part due to the wound infection, because that does happen and she might have had a raised temperature I am so glad you could help her immensely. You got rid of the fox tails and treated the wounds left behind. The one that is a definite hole will have been an abscess after the foxtail burrowed in more. That's been there a while especially now maggots are hatching. I hope the vet really cleaned it out and gave her antibiotics. I sincerely hope the vet checked her ear canals as foxtail are notorious for causing huge problems there. 3 weeks later she is back to being a lively dog-Fantastic.... I also hope your friend now realise why they have to check/brush her.. We live on a farm, dogs n cats get foxtails but we try to keep them away from the long grass.. Cats are harder to control!!! One of our dogs many years ago got a large Thorn in her paw, she was limping but we could not find anything, no hole, nothing sticking out the wound etc. Then it became a huge abscess, off to vet for some quick surgery, they opened the abscess let it drain, washed it out and found a big Thorn in it. Daily dressings, antibiotic tablets and like Didi 3 weeks later, healed and back to her normal usual self.... Thank you for Helping Didi. Thank you for sharing her with us.

I wish you could adopt Didi. They definitely did a disservice to her. Thank God for you! She definitely was sedated by the owners before coming. I wouldn't trust anything they say. Thank you thank you thank you for taking such care of her!!!!

It's a relief to see owners that care. You are a true blessing to the animals that you come across.
