Not gonna lie, I’m feeling discourage with my videos lower and lower turn out. Any suggestions on ways to improve the channel or content?
@Valthoran903 жыл бұрын
I love MTG's old lore, I spout it off to my friends that play to give context to many of the cards they own. Your insight and delivery has always been enjoyable and useful and I feel that the weakening and poor usage of lore on the part of Wizard's may be having a detrimental affect upon people's interest and faith in such. I don't really see any failings on your part at all.

Perhaps a deck tech or gameplay? Sorry, not the best at ideas pertaining to the question.

I think it’s not demographic, and more of the treatment towards lore from wizards that discouraged many viewers. So it’s not you, but it’s the mishandling of the lore the past few years (No thanks to War of the Spark and Theros Beyond Death.)

Don't let anything discourage you; you are doing a great job. I myself had a channel of lore in spanish, and the views a fewer every video, but is fault ofWizards, not of content creators!

@@EvlEgle Why? The card type didn't exist then. It would have no impact on the game at all and with so many, the lore wouldn't make any sense. It's like wanting the amp to go to 11.

Alright bud, let's talk... your videos are sick. The lore is solid, and your story telling is on point. You gotta Spiff that algorithm though. DNDs Ravnica got a few million people into MTG lore. I got interested in the lore, found your channel, and now I watch every video... and I haven't played MTG in over a decade. Use the community page, send out polls, ask people about future content and watch the numbers go back up. Your channel is awesome, and your fans aren't going anywhere.

This is awesome, out of all the old mtg sets Time Spiral has always intrigued me the most. I love everything about the concept of it and I’m so glad Wizards is returning to it and not Ravnica or Zendikar for the 10,000th time. Also, I thought you should know I’ve been subscribed to you for years now and I very much admire your drive and ambition to keep the channel growing. Your videos have great production quality in that I always get exactly what I thought I would after I jump in. There’s no baiting and no hammy interjections or whatever like some other lore aficionados tend to do in their vids. I think you’ve been doing an excellent job since I first found you however long ago it was. If there is anything I can suggest in the hopes of boosting your reach; shorter videos seem to have a lot of traction on KZbin these days. So running a new series or two like you’ve started with your shorts could help bring more people to the channel. Maybe a top ten list of times when an obscure creature type influenced the plot or some other lore related thingamajig that deviates from the standard history lesson format. It would appeal to us long time subscribers because we’re here for the lore- and it could also grab the attention of people who may not have cared about mtg lore in the past. Unfortunately a lot of Wizards’ writing is quite frankly awful, but I would be amiss not to say that you have made the entire concept of consuming mtg lore palatable for myself and I’m sure many, many others. Keep up the great work broham, we’re all rooting for ya.

I think you make great high quality content. I would enjoy seeing stories that follow a character rather than by event. MtG lore bounces around alot. It be great to follow the stories of Radha, Venser and Mirri. From origin to current.

Radha's ancestor is Astor, a veteran of the Battle in Keld, against the Phrexians. The battle at the Necropolis where the Kheldon dead rose to fight the living. Eldamari and Lin-Shiv fought there too. If i got names spelling or something slightly off, its been a longtime
@tangomarcial15413 жыл бұрын
I think the Shorts are a good addition to the channel. Besides WotC's treatment of the lore's weight, I think KZbin engagement is shifting as more and more content creators try old and new formulas in the same demographic. Some elements of your approach remind me of Rhystic Studies. I know that you'll come up with something to get where your vision of the channel is.

The reason for that is not really mentioned here. Teferi giving up his Spark was a special case.

I missed out on this arc, so I only got the crib notes before. I knew about the story event that ended "old walkers" and gave way to new "walkers," but it almost felt like the game changed on a meta level at that point and some old lore would be disregarded or reconned, like a softer version of what happened to League of Legends. I can see now just how loyal to that old lore the writers have been, even if quality of storytelling has been rocky for a few years... Dominaria and the re-introduction of Teferi in the contemporary age really helped tie the new and old sagas together.

Great video, as always! Just a little correction on the timeline of events. Karona happened about 200 years after the invasion, it was the plot of the Odyssey and Scourge blocks. This arc was kinda bland and Dominaria stopped being the main stage. The next block/plane was consequently Mirrodin.
