Defund NASA The fault lies in the law, the lack of evidence, and the sentencing guidelines. They can't prove that he intended to murder her, let alone that she is actually dead, so the fact that he was willing to admit to his bullshit story is the only evidence that a crime was even commited. There's literally nothing they can do except take his statements and charge him for what he admitted to. If he didn't admit to anything, he wouldn't have even been charged and convicted at all. It's definitely not justice, but you can't blame the courts here when they've got nothing to work with.

Confession is not enough? Are you kidding me? A 15 year old black teen with the mindset of a 13 year old was taken from her home by police illegally without an arrest warrant. She was interrogated for 9 hours without a legal guardian, without a lawyer, without food, water and sleep. She was lied to and manipulated the entire time. Police typed out a statement and tricked her into signing it by telling her they would let her go home once she did. They wouldn't let her mother see her the entire time she was being psychologically tortured. They lied to her mother repeatedly claiming she wasn't being interrogated and that they would return her within 30 minutes. They have no video or audio recording of the interrogation; another law they broke. They had no evidence against her. No finger prints, DNA, video footage nor a single witness that placed her at the scene of the crime. Matter of fact all the evidence pointed to 3 other people yet nobody else was arrested. Just an immature 15 year old black girl with no criminal history. The only evidence police had was a false confession they illegally obtained yet she has now been in prison for over 20 years. Even with all the new evidence that's come out in her defense, with 3 witnesses and phone records showing she was nowhere near the scene she's still in prison for a crime she did not do. What kind of backwards state requires a body for a crime when he confesses to murdering her??
@angelicearthgoddess4 жыл бұрын
He confessed to killing her which in the eyes if the law is very different than murder. Now I'm not saying he isnt guilty of murder because he clearly is and the 7 year sentence he got was just some BS but in the eyes of the law it is what can be proven. He states it was an accident and without a body they cannot prove that statement true or false. I believe he murdered her because he hid the body.
@MarioGoatse4 жыл бұрын
EmilyW87 Yep. Literally the only evidence of a crime is his own statements. Unfortunately (fortunately really) you need proof beyond a reasonable doubt to convict someone of murder, and that evidence just doesn't exist. The best case scenario is to use his statements against him and charge him for what he admitted to, cause otherwise you'd have nothing. It's obvious to me that he murdered her, but a court must prove it beyond reasonable doubt.
@angelicearthgoddess4 жыл бұрын
@@MarioGoatse Exactly. And no matter a persons gut instinct that the husband murdered her there has to be irrefutable evidence that he committed murder.
@MarioGoatse4 жыл бұрын
EmilyW87 That's what people are not realising. If they had charged him for murder, he would've beaten it. There's not a shred of evidence that he intentionally murdered her, let alone that she was murdered at all, so the court would have had no choice but to find him not guilty and he wouldn't have done any time at all. It absolutely sucks because he's clearly guilty, but if you can't prove that beyond a reasonable doubt then you can't convict him.

That outcome is messed up, when it was known that he had killed her, where the hell was the professional interrogation. if they were to find the body now can he be retried and sentence again for longer or is that like double jeopardy.
@smith5544 жыл бұрын
No. It would be double jeopardy.

Very sad to know that this killer had to spend only 4 years imprisoned, it's the minimum relief for the mother seeing him prisoned. May she find peace

Well because of the double jeopardy law he has nothing to lose. Just tell the poor mom where her daughter is.
@IRsBlueManMoney-Channel4 жыл бұрын
The statement from officials at the end mention “other possible prosecutions” though, so I’m not an expert on this stuff but it sounds like there are maybe still possible prosecutions? Also, he has his reputation he could lose by doing what you suggest since he would be changing the “accidental death” story and admitting to the murder.
