What Happened to Astro Renaissance? | Revisiting Roblox Fashion Drama

Astro Renaissance is a cute game and enjoyable for a short amount of time. The only reason the game's player base increased was due to the fact royale high players were boycotting the game, which created a huge issue. They couldn't necessarily draw in their own players, and while it has a cute alien theme, it lacked any true roleplaying aspect. There were lots to do quest-wise, and when the quests were reworked and a "sunset island" like aspect was added, it had a fair number of players, but never as many as royale high. They have tons of items, but they're all fairly cheap and farming is so quick. Plus, lack of people to talk to made it rather boring. I feel like if the game could generate a larger role-playing player base, they could be successful, but most dress up yotubers are focused on dress to impress, so I can't see that happening any time soon. Also, the game just lacks major updates.

Astro Ren was basically the rebound from someones extremely toxic on and off again relationship to make their ex jealous and gaslight said ex into trying to get back together. Which sucks because Astro is so charming and deserves far better than that. The unhealthy, extremely toxic relationship between the RH team and it's fanbase is truly a fascinating study.

Ive invested alot of time in AR and im so sad that its in its decline, but it definitely needs more updates. I know the devs are working super hard but i feel if they added more opportunities to rp/possibly have seasonal changes to the various planets would be add something new. Hey! Great video! I actually wanted to add some insight on this topic since I used to have some videos on Astro ren! It really was a game with a lot of potential but there was a lot of internal drama involved with the inner circles of the developers and a lot of performative stuff going on inside, I had covered the game in two instances on my channel but their head moderator on discord and a former artist copy right struck my channel and attempted to get it deleted due to the fact a lot of it highlighted issues with their devs, Astro had potential but unfortunately it never really came from a place of love but rather an attempt to out compete a behemoth like royale high, with such weak motives and again such drama prone developers it was almost ensured to fail, I’m glad some devs have been able to move on however and seem to be doing better now

Am I the only one who thinks that RH wasn't very wrong for doing that? Like I get getting rid of CMH badge is a bit too far, but the game told her told advertise the game, which means you don't criticize it like that openly. It's like if I was doing a sponsorship and started complaining about it. Also her just exposing what RH said is a bit violating as she seemed to be displeased that RH commented on her joke. To top it all off, the joke was really confusing to understand and I could see why people could be confused about it, RH was right for clarifying they didnt deserve people mocking them for that. However, this is all I know about the drama and maybe there was more problems, but if that is all that took place, I dont think RH deserved all that from the people who follow what their fave KZbinr plays. I actually did try Astro Renaissance when it was first releasing, but got so annoyed and frustrated at the data loss issues that I didn't go back after it came back up. I did later try to play Astro Ren again back when Royale High was at it's peak of drama (around the YT badge drama I think). I played it for a bit, but it felt.... empty? I guess, I got bored from grinding constantly because that felt like the only thing to do in the game after I finished all the quests. I did like how kind the people in the game were when I was first starting out, but I think my brain was just so tired from the RH drama and feeling like I had to restart after RH that it just gave up on Astro Ren. It's a good game, just... couldn't keep my interest. I'm like most old RH players, mostly just playing DTI now. I sometimes check out RH for new updates but I never stay for long, Frankly, I forgot about AR til this video haha.

Well like I feel like people just played it as a way to “get revenge” against royals high, I think people played it in spite of royals high. It was that and dress to impress (maybe others) but then in summer dress to impress got SUPER popular and so it got all of astros fame, that and there wasn’t much to do in Astro.. the game was easy and there was no objective from playing it, now if people wanna role play they can just go to rh and if ppl wanna dress they can go to dti so.. basically there’s not much the game is going that we can’t already get in a much more popular game

It seemed like at some point, they made how items looked on your avatar locked to your roblox account's gender, which is why I quit, personally. Only like, half of the items even fit on the masculine body in the first place, but I couldn't switch to using the feminine versions of items even if I wanted to, so every time I bought an item, I had to pray I could even actually wear it with other clothes, and the answer was often 'no'. I also don't enjoy dress up games that feature both masculine and feminine versions of clothes but don't let me switch between the two, since it's really limiting and boring, and having to change my roblox account's actual gender to change what my outfit looks like in one game feels degrading and tedious.

I'm an Astro Renaissance player myself and I did move to the game after finding out what was up with RH. In my experience AR is just so lacking in things to do, all there really is to do is dress up and grind for tickets/ moonstones/ EXP. I know that the team behind it is relatively small right now and they're working on their own pace to make sure nothing is rushed but it makes it so that there isn't really anything new to look at during different seasons in the game (I mean we're halfway through October already and haven't gotten anything for Lunar Harvest except for the seasonal set). I can still hope that as time goes on the game will have more to do considering that it's only been around for almost 2 years now, but as of now it feels so empty.

Very long comment incoming: I tried out Astro Renaissance a long time ago and genuinely enjoyed it because I have a fixation on space/astronomy. I thought there was so much potential in it and played a lot. But unfortunately, my love for Astro Renaissance died down immediately when they introduced paid seasonal passes for a while in the game; Effectively paywalling so many items that there was barely anything to look forward to as a free-to-play supporter. That, alongside the many bugs and lack of things to do turned me off from the game. It just felt like the same dress-up game to me but space themed. It was always repetitive fetch quests and then the cosmetics to me seemed off theme for what they were going for. Space… but then we get a gyaru set? Lol. And the plus size bodies were very buggy! They weren’t even accurate representation and were ignored for most sets. Especially masculine plus size bodies so I never understood why people preached Astro Renaissance as this super inclusive game when they’re lacking quite a lot like Royale High. Not only that, some of their Discord server moderators and game developers are utterly atrocious people. Many of them have spread lies about my friends simply because they *POLITELY* critiqued their behavior or their mistakes in Astro Renaissance. One of them was being painted out as racist while one was painted out as a gr00mer for… making a gay joke about wanting more masculine body representation in dress up games? Yikes. Plus, they then silenced the ‘racist one’ when they made a video addressing all of this happening. Mind you, they were still being polite regardless of the rumors spread about them but a mod and an ex artist for Astro Renaissance falsely copyright struck them TWICE. Almost deleting their channel entirely which is awful. Astro Renaissance is not a game I think anyone should be supporting. It had potential at the start but I’ve heard and witnessed so many stories of their associates being terrible people that I’m just wary about it all around. You can play whatever you want, of course… But please be mindful about who you support and perhaps don’t throw around the “This game is better than Royale High because it’s more inclusive!!” when it really isn’t lmao

This is a story that has happened to me and over 35 vitcims that where part of AR. But first when i first joined game AR is was amazed how must they have so work put in for a short amount of time. the music i really like and was pretty the dressing style was soo cool and out spaces vibes and the detail on the building and clotch was very nice. after being part go the AR discord and becoming a mod for there server i started to notice alot of red flag over the three month i was part of the staff team for getting promoted after two weeks to training well most even i was not even learned enough to handle a server of a size over 15k, a head mod belittling a person in voice that cuz that head mod was making chaos in the vc and that person asked if they could tone it down but got accused of alting, having a head mod making it sound the staff team is a little on the spectrum wat put the server inraged cuz that head mod did not listen to the ppl that are heavily on the spectrum and cuz of ppl speaking up some got banned, having a unspoken rule about RH and to never bring it up or get warned for talking about or more to even getting banned from AR discord server, having a channel called the WALL OF SHAME where head mods and higher up put staff mistake and make joke out of it and put in where EVEN the head mod where breaking there own rules, having one head mod try to gaslight over 3 ppl in to thinking they did not mis use the look of a necklace as a adult toy and there 23 doing this to minor (and i have counted how many minors are in the staff and over 15 to 17 and adult mods are over 6 of them 4 of them act thing this way), one head mod openly posting there fossilization in to public chats wat ppl have stated to not do and after i put in my resine note have bin contacted by the top head mod to be made fun by the rest of the head mods and got impersonated by the head mod that is 23 year old and threated to stay silent. it bin over 6 months of being threated like a dog by AR head mods am hurt by them and am not support a game that has head mods behave this way. This my story and for the other victims its up to them to bring there story up. and to put this here alot of the ppl have talked with on AR voice chat they have told me that they dont feel safe to talk freely around the staff as they find ways to punish ppl in there and head mod when they get told ppl triggers they purposefully over step it

I quit Royal High around 3 years ago cause it was so not beginner friendly and my motivation to grind diamonds all day and everyday was lacking. I even tried to do diamond farming and only got around like 10-20k diamonds but the game was full with inflation so all i could afford was almost nothing but cheap accessories that aren't even that pretty.

its just not really that fun. i absolutely ADORE the alien aesthetic of it, but its just not that interesting gameplay wise. not many people play it, theres not really many roleplaying aspects, and its really just not that different from royale high. i wish it was just a normal roleplay dress up game instead of having the currency system.

i love astro renaissance, i play it all the time but mainly farming for the halloween update. i agree, it does get boring, which is really sad because it has so much potential to have loads of players. there are a few areas for improvement for the game, but the devs have said that its a passion project so they arent obliged to update the game regularly.

when i first looked up astro this month, it had like, 3 players lmao. i personally tried it during when ppl boycotted royale high just to try it out, and perhaps it’s just that i don’t get invested in games easily, but i didn’t really know what to do in the game. sure it was easier to get currency and stuff, but i didnt feel like there was much to do. i js rage quit bc i was tryna get that one free halo and it wasn’t letting me even tho i was following the steps lmao but point is, i feel like a better introduction would’ve helped i know dti benefitted from the boycott very much and blew up tho, even tho i dont think dti was related to royale high at all

I been playing since Astro Renaissance since it came out , been there since day one , But i can understand why it doesnt have much players, the game kick you out after a min or a couple of hours,(i have no idea if they fix it now or not) but i would not be surprised if one of the main reasons people dont play Imagine getting kicked every min or ever sec you try and grind 😢😢😢 ,It sad to see astro renaissance not getting the attention it need

i think that AR should release updates more frequently, cuz as of rn, they do it like once every 3-5 months, also more new things outside of the clothes, like in the new update, where they rewamped/reworked and added some things
