Trekkies were _WAY_ too harsh with Entreprise. I used to love it, back when it was airing. Which coincidentially was also around the same time I logged in to the internet for the first time. One of the first things I did back then, was to search for this new Star Trek that I thought was so amazing. I was full of hope to finally connect with people who liked Star Trek just like I did. (The world was a smaller place back then, and being a nerd wasn't "hip".) And I couldn't _believe_ how much people were trash-talking it. It was as if we were watching different shows altogether. To this day it's still my favorite, and I still think people were being totally unfair back then.

@@fedeac31 unfortunately this happen to different franchises, take for instance Zack Snyder take on the DCEU when it started people were hating it for being too dark but after years went by they understood the beauty of his work and they demanded zsjl to be released and now they're looking to restire the snyderverse which in some way they destroyed because they hated it in the beginning. @Willem DaFuckedUp I see ST:ENT and STD as being polar opposites. While both employed differing levels of creative visual liberties, relative to all other Trek installments that preceeded them, at least Enterprise tried to stay true to the pacing and approach to conflict resolution as TNG, DS9, and VOY. STD, on the other hand, was/is just a joke, wrapped in corporate greed, masquerading around with a "Star Trek" veneer.

Enterprise was second best show, but it was not so USA that there must be lots of explosions and snarky action. It was more neutral, a humble behavior how they took off as first human race representatives that are young, and they need to learn fast. They couldn't have all the fancy things that all other star trek had, because they were pioneers. They were those who set the future protocols, standards and designs... There were problems in the show, like their grand mission.... While they would had maybe better change if they would have been more about exploration and meeting new species that trying to revenge Earth deaths... I have seen all the other series from first episodes to last, at least two times each. TNG maybe a seven times, DS9 three times, all the movies Nth times. And while every single series has some flaws, Enterprise is far far better than most. It is actually even better than DS9 was. TNG is still the best series, and best characters are Picard and Data, but one of the most human captains ever is Archer. Without such high moral stance like a Janeway.

Haven't had a chance to watch "Discovery" yet. I didn't like "Enterprise" at first because I thought it was like "DS9". But I gave "Enterprise" a chance and loved it better than "DS9". Don't think I'll like "Discovery" better, but I want to get CBS All Access anyway and hope that a renewed "Enterprise"'could be put on it so I could have an excuse to watch: "Enterprise", "'Discovery", "Picard", and maybe "Axanar". We fans of "Enterprise" deserve better. That last episode of season 4 was a majour disappointment! Putting in the "TNG" with Riker-Troi holoprogramme-or any "ST" holoprogramme-was a mistake. There were some parts of it that were crucial, but the kitchen scene, the dialog about the Pegasus, and Trio's short call from Data that made no sense plus they did the kitchen scene to pay tribute to a dead Trip Tucker. Trip is not dead. If the story "The Good That Men Do" was used (without that "DS9" holoprogramme), then we'd understand that Trip faked his death to infiltrate the Romulans. Maybe in the 5th episode that didn't happen, that fake death might've been revealed, but we didn't get to see it. I liked the scenes where T'Pol talks to Trip in the shuttle about missing him and to Archer about missing her mother as well (strangely enough, little Elizabeth wasn't mentioned, but both grieved over her before anyway in "Terra Prime"). Shran's wife was kidnapped, not a daughter, but this bit showed a gentler side to T'Pol. Lastly, the holoprogramme cut out an important scene: Trip gave Cpt. Archer a note to give T'Pol before the speech at the end. She probably didn't like crowds, but the note was to tell her to meet someone below the steps. She meets Trip, they talk, he leaves to go on his next assignment, and she cries. She also cried after Archer left her in Trip's qtrs. This is not the same T'Pol in the first 3 years. Can you get this chr.development in a 2 hr.movie? It took 4 seasons to get this far. "Enterprise" could go on to the Romulan War and beyond to the stories in "Rise of the Federation" if continued. T'Pol could become cpt.of the Endeavour and others could be promoted too. And Dr. Phlox could become her dr.again! We fans should write Jennifer.Verti@cbs.com and Lauri.Melrose@cbs.com to convince CBS to continue "Enterprise". I hope it works.

The true "Age of Discovery" for the Human Race in Space. So many wanted it to be just another Star Trek "shoot'em up", which was what happened in the Kirk era (set approx 100 years or so in the future of this one); and the SNG series which was set in the 2th Century, and thus much of local space had been visited, at least within our own part of the Galaxy by then. Just to be on the "cutting edge" of new discoveries, would at least in my humble opinion, be the coolest thing ever. The whole series was a downhill struggle due to producers being badgered for ratings to change story lines and production styles. The whole last 2 season were turned into more of an action to draw ratings beyond producers wishes. The actors would agree that the ending was a sad outcome that the hard work they put forward did not deserve. However the series deserves to be watched for it has a bit different flavor then your other treks but puts the changes and progression of mankind into perspective.

I still remember very well (back in the early 2000s) the hotheaded hardcore fans who hated Enterprise using the Temporal Cold War plot to argue that the show was an alternate timeline to justify the technology ("too advanced for a TOS prequel") and continuity issues, or otherwise saying that it was not canon, that it was violating previous ST continuity, that Bernan-Braga were raping and destroying ST, that it was too political (for criticizing some aspects of the Bush era), sometimes even insulting those who had different opinions and liked the show ("if you like this, you are not a true fan"). I know this because I lived through it. Oh, wait, do I see a similar behavioural pattern nowadays?

I hope she still wants to play T'Pol. I don't care how "old" she is. After all, even at 75, T'Pol will still look younger. In 2021, I will be 66 years young and hope I still look it.
@bcs2em6255 жыл бұрын
At the start of season 4, T'Pol reveals to Trip that she's not quite 66 years old. That episode was filmed in '04. Thus fifteen years later, if T'Pol shows up on screen, the character would be 81 years old. I'm not sure how Blalock looks now, but think of however it is to being comparable to an 81 year old Vulcan. Heck, even her mom, T'Les in season 4, looks good for what has to be pushing 100 years old.

"SJW crap." Damn, son. Have you ever watched Star Trek before? The entire series from start to finish is about reaching out to new cultures, embracing their differences and building a universe that's better for all, not letting the majority exert rule over the minority. It's a series by SJWs for SJWs. And that's a wonderful thing. Also, Discovery doesn't override any other canon. Don't be a triggered snowflake.

It was a story about the first Enterprise OK it wasn't Kirk and grew or Picard and his grew either but it told a story about how the federation formed and what happened after first contact and humanity and the rest of the universe worked before James T Kirk ever was born and their first meeting with strange new life forms and a good man tried to make sense of each race he in counted and brought people and aliens together his trials and travels oboard the ship with grew and though it wasn't like the future that of the original Star Trek because it was set 70 years before Kirk or there abouts technology had grow and change but Enterprise was clearly not the original but had elements from Gene Rodberry dream for trek to now I think Voyager and Enterprise are now amongst the best of that dream therefore the story of trek isn't finished and in the future I imagine that there a movie about both in the pages to complete this tale someday soon?
@McGinnPaul4 жыл бұрын
Well if the movies are anything to go by, we know he finally becomes an Admiral. And Porthos gets disintegrated by Scotty. Not sure how much of that actually happens in the non Kelvin timeline
@keirfarnum68113 жыл бұрын
I always expected Porthos to appear somewhere at the end of one of JJ’s movies. It would only make sense since he was lost in a transporter accident and was either beamed somewhere unknown or is in a suspended state in subspace. Of course it would have to be Porthos 3 or 4 by that time since Archer would have been a very old man by the start of the TOS time period.
