B5 could gain their own success even if they were just a boy band. Like Backstreet Boys, they still had a great hits in 2000s and gained their sales. We know B2K sold more and got a spotlight. Also, having huge advantaged in singing and smooth dancing. The music competition was tight but that's not meant that B5 didn't deserved the attention and exposure in the shuffle. It's all about how the records label treat and promote their artist.

The Greateat Boy Band of All Time however is The Jackson 5. Every boy band actually is a branch off them. Even New Edition. It is evident with their first song. It is only during the 90s you could hear the difference. So the fact that B5 did a cover version of a Jackson 5 song. Says it all.

If there was a demand for their music and a way to continually capitalize off B5; it would've been done. They weren't black balled... They didn't sell MILLIONS of records and got robbed like TLC... Race has nothing to do with it. They just weren't as hot as they'd hoped 🤷🏾♀️

Thank you! I'm tired of people automatically saying "oh they were signed to bad boy so they were doomed from the start". People forget how hard it was to even be signed back in the day. If your budget was big enough, you got a video and radio spins. If your song was not hot it was over with because it cost a ton just to get a video and to be worked in radio. There are so many stories out of the good the bad and the ugly and the ones who actually get what is owed to them ( Stevie Wonder). Few Artist are lucky to get there Masters either in the beginning or at some point later down the rode. Recently this was the case of None other than Ms. Anita Baker.
