Thank you for sharing. You're the first person I know to actually address how surreal and odd it is to have a vulnerable part of you open to the public. I had this weird moment when I went to see my favorite band live, 5sos, and felt kinda deflated when I was them on stage. It wasn't because I don't like them, because I do, but I became aware of how I built up this image of them, and saw vulnerable parts of them, and I thought I knew them personally. But seeing them on stage from a distance, it made me realize we were strangers and I had a whole thing built up in my head about a person I never met in person. It was one-sided, I know they exist, but they don't know I do. Years after that concert, I saw cast members of SPN on stage and it happened again. That odd deflation. And I came across a KZbin video that talked about "parasocial relationships" and went into how odd and new it all is. I think we forget to really think about these things, because we're so wrapped up in social media, we forget to REALLY think about what it's like behind the screen. I've wanted to be a youtuber for some time, and have come to the realization that if I do, it HAS to be anonymous. Because the idea of people knowing what I look like, and having ideas about me, just makes me hella anxious. (But to be fair, I have GAD, but still 🤷🏽‍♀️)
