Blowing the 28-3 lead is worse imo. You are leading by enough to absorb a couple significant mistakes and still win in all likelihood. In order to blow that kind of lead you must make numerous mistakes in quick succession.

As a lifelong Atlanta Falcons fan, I'm not sure there is any NFL fan base that knows pain quite like we do, to have defeat snatched from the jaws of victory time and time again. In my mind 28-3 was more painful, just because that game was years in the making for our franchise and the past few seasons had all been building towards this one moment, only to have it all taken away from us over the course of those last 30 minutes.

As a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, I have to disagree while we have not had a collapse on the level of 28-3 ever since the Super Bowl win it’s been heartbreak after heartbreak. Minor correction at around 17:25: Super Bowl 52 was not the highest scoring Super Bowl. That distinction belongs to Super Bowl 29 (52 had 74 points scored [Eagles 41 + Patriots 33], 29 had 75 points scored [49ers 49 + Chargers 26]). Super Bowl 52 was the most “offensive” one though, as the two teams combined for over 1150 yards of offense (which I believe is a record for all games). Great video though, very entertaining!

I think being number one just adds more pressure. You're expected to win against lower seeds even though they may have only a slightly worse record. Sometimes it's just a team solidifying at the right time, giants and packers are notable examples when they won. The bengals from the year before were impressive too even if they got beat by the rams, not sure if anyone expected them to be good with burrow coming off that knee injury and making the horrible mistake of drafting chase instead of that offensive lineman. that's why I don't give af what all those so called analysts say.

I've been saying this for years now (I'm a Bill's fan). It doesn't matter what seat you get, or your record. It's all about getting hot during the playoffs. And usually it's about being dominant in one area, and being average to good in everything else. And typically one of those "good position groups" step it up in the Playoffs and that team wins the Superbowl.

I'll never forget the excitement that came with the goal line interception against Seattle, ran around the house in circles yelling "interception" because just a moment before I was saying "are they really gonna lose another one after another improbable catch?!" So my disappointment turned to excitement in what seemed like a millisecond. And then the 28-3 comeback... Man, I've never sunk so low in my chair after that pick 6. Felt absolutely over. As a Falcons fan, throwing an interception at the goal line to lose the game is much, much worse. Both of these are both heart wrenching, agonizing ways of having victory in your hands just for it to slip out of your hands, but the difference is that the Seahawks actually had a much more sizable chance to win in the final seconds of regulation, while the Falcons were basically screwed by the flip of a coin.

Blowing a 23 point lead in the SB is worse then 1 dumb play on the goal line to cost the game. ATL could have just let the clock run down every play and ran the ball in the 2nd half and NE wouldn't of had enough possessions to make their comeback. Instead ATL decided to throw pick 6s and throw incompletions which took no time off the clock and gave NE enough possessions to get back in the game and win.

The 28-3 comeback is the worst way to lose a Super Bowl. Falcons had the ball MULTIPLE times over the course of the comeback... 28-9... 28-12... 28-20... (after the Pats scored... Falcons had a first down at the 22 yard line from a Julio Jones catch.) Going up 31-20 that late in the game would have in fact won it.. Wasn't that much time left. Now... the Seahawks goal line int to the Pats... is but one play. Atlanta had at least 4 opportunities... to score at least a field goal and thus put the game out of reach. Agony over one play... or multiple agonies over 3 or 4 drives that did nothing

The goaline had much more damage as a Seahawks fan. We lost the LOB because of it. This also showed Pete Carolls intent to favor Russ over his defense which used to be the other way around. And we never made it halfway to the Super Bowl since. Not to mention the heart attack when I saw the play. This ruined our team because Russel Wilson was a system QB who sucks in the pocket which is why in Denver he can’t do anything. Mostly because of his height. He can’t roll out of the pocket anymore.

This favoring Russ idea is a product of the childishness and greed of the LOB players it's not based in reality. Belichick just outsmarted the Seahawks coaches. That pass play was their go to goal line play they were something like 9-0 that year using it. When Belichick decided not to call a timeout with 28 seconds left he made the coaches rush their decision and they ran the play the Patriots had practiced stopping all week.

Seahawks v.s Patriots in Super Bowl: Seahawks: Best rushing team in the NFL. Patriots: 31st ranked run defense in the NFL. Seahawks: Have the ball at the 2-yard line with one time out left and game nearly over. Common Sense Person: Just hand the ball to Marshawn and you score, game over. Seahawks O-Coordinator Darrell Bevell: Let's throw the ball to our 5th string receiver.

Was mike Anderson the running back for the broncos? (2000 offensive roty) I starred at that name for at least a minute before any light bulb clicked. Love the channel

As a Seahawks fan, I’d rather throw a pick at the goal line. 28 to 3 is just insane. They could’ve just kneeled the ball out and would’ve likely won. The embarrassment of a complete team collapse is worse in my opinion

Hey KTO as a long time Giants fan I wonder if you're interested in making a video on teams that weren't supposed to do well but ended up overachieving despite the odds. Love your content and hope you and everyone are doing well, keep it going fam!

I admire how you show respect to the chargers by showing that 2006 marlon mcree pick/fumble highlight first. I know im biased as a charger fan myself, but that 2006 team is SEVERELY UNDERRATED and it should be more recognized as an all time "what if" or in a negative sense, "choke". Even in that particular loss vs the patriots, the chargers looked so much better and played their ass off...but....ughhhhhh... nate kaeding, marlom mcree, P.I!!!!!

Update: the record is now 6 for 24 on regular-season champs winning the Super Bowl. Being a longtime soccer fan makes you appreciate that the NFL's regular season and playoffs are basically two separate competitions fused into one. The Premier League has the league title based on points (regular season) and the FA Cup based on a tournament (playoffs). They are completely separate, but the league title there is more coveted.

Goal line has the heartbreak factor going. 28-3 was literally a series of unlikely occurrences to benefit the patriots. Insane.

Everyone talking about how tragic being a fan of their team is are forgetting about the Vikings, continuous heartbreaking moments since the 60s and have never gotten their happy ending
