3-6 minutes is the perfect amount of video, it's SO stupid that KZbin screws people over who don't upload content that fits the 10 minute threshold. I'm glad to hear you're doing well, and I'm even more glad to be able to say *welcome back Graenolf!*
@Graenolf8 сағат бұрын
Yeah it’s annoying. Because the engagement is always going to be lower than long form content, it can be hard to make lucrative unless you’re getting crazy good views
@Alex-fc8xn3 сағат бұрын
Agreed. It's the perfect length of video for me being ADHD. Short enough I won't get distracted, long enough I don't get stuck watching hours of short form content because each video feels too short to be satisfying and it's hard to find a natural stopping point to task switch
@t.coppin653615 сағат бұрын
This man is single handedly responsible for getting me into Skyrim. I watched all his top 5 series in skyrim, bought the game, and have now officially put over 1000 hours into the game. Even when he wasnt uploading, i would watch the playlist religiously. I was in high school then, and i was JUST rewatching his playlist today, in my freshman year of college. Whatever you decide to to Graenolf, you'll do great. Make sure to keep your OYFUM!

“conversational, candid style” is sooo fitting. I’ve always felt in your comedic acting too that you could do camp or deadpan, and BOTH would be funny. there is a a wit to that balance. this also reminded me of your peaky blinders videos and how you got cillian murphy’s speech pattern (and meowing) and delivery so correctly. I hope you can find access to a more comfortable recording environment/personal studio soon!

As someone who's been contemplating getting into narrating audiobooks for the past few years and I don't know where to start from, this is incredibly informative. Thanks, Graenolf!
@Graenolf8 сағат бұрын
Do it! My only advice would be to not expect to do it forever. I actually just left my tv agency because they were encouraging the use of AI reproductive voice websites which will definitely replace sooo many jobs. The vast majority of voiceover work is freelance, and we’re in trouble. So it’s hard to tell how long we’ll be able to enjoy work like this. Thankfully, the authors I work with appreciate a real human voicing their books, and I hope there will always be cool people like them!
@StephanieJeanne16 сағат бұрын
This was nice, Graenolf! If I ever wanted to read audiobooks for living, you've answered most of my questions. The only one I still have is: do you have deadlines? Like, is there a date by which each one must be completed? You definitely seem happy. That's nice to see, and I hope you get to build that place off the grid! Peace, and welcome back. P.S. The blonde lady at the computer taking off her glasses clip was a hilarious touch! 😂✌️💜
@Graenolf8 сағат бұрын
Hey again Steph! I’m really lucky haha I don’t have any hard deadlines 😄. A few companies I am signed with do have deadlines, and they’re usually like a few weeks to a month after getting accepted as the narrator. I honestly don’t audition with those companies very much though 🤷♂️

📚🎙️Great to hear and see you again Graenolf, and thanks for all this information on getting a job narrating books, a lot harder than I thought it would be. I must admit although I've heard amazing narrators in audible I've also heard many really bad narrators , they don't do voices, they read like they've only just got the book and have no rhythm with no emotion. Luckily they have you Graenolf to show them how it's done, you have a natural gift for acting, narrating, so awesome. Well Graenolf do whatever makes YOU happy and I'll be happy for you no matter what. ❤ From England 🏴🇬🇧 🙂
