The music industry is a fickle space and it occasionally accommodates and spotlights new and brazen artists but after breaking onto the music scene with her 2003 smash hit single; ‘’Nookie’’, Jacki-O pretty much became a household name. The American rapper with real name, Angela Agape is nothing if not uniquely gifted. The only way to suitably describe her rap style is ‘’sexy and overly flirtatious’’. Her rhymes were top-notch and her bars pretty solid but it was mostly her delivery that did it for a lot of her fans. Jacki-O oozed of sex appeal when she rapped. The rapper had gotten in bed with Poe Boy Entertainment sometime between 2000 - 2002 and when
her first single was released 2003, it did more than its fair share of rotation on radio and in the
clubs.

Especially when you owe them before you even release a song. I can understand returns on investing, but ppl forget the 90’s where they were stealing from ppl. All you have to say is TLC and Toni Braxton, TLC especially. How you “give” your artist a car and then later it’s billed to them more than the actual cost, and a cheap car at that? Then it’s always a clause where you don’t own your masters to keep you from earning royalties.

Jacki was that girl! She was the rapper singing on her tracks long before the other ladies in the 2000s. The way she wrote it was like you could close your eyes and picture exactly what she was rapping about. She was an AMAZING story teller! She was a beautiful brown skinned woman too! She had a great style as a street girl with a sexy elegant flare! It sucks how Brisco and the label did her. The woman she is now makes me sad b/c she's gone full judgmental christian bashing those she used to be like and those who supported her. I know she's doing all of this out of anger/disappointment in her music career. What I would love to see is Mona Scott reach out to her so she can confront Brisco on how he treated her! He needs to be checked for that. Jacki-O is the queen!

@Wealthismybirthright
@Wealthismybirthright 2 жыл бұрын
I liked her songs as a young girl because I’m a south floridian born and raised but not in Miami or Dade. I heard all her mixtapes and singles during the 2000s. I was a kid hearing her in the underground sides of Florida music. We all played her music. Her, Khia, and Trina was in heavy rotation for us florida girls growing up. I do know Jacki-O got saved with Christianity and she became misogynistic herself and extremely religiously abusive. It’s unfortunate she never truly healed her pain but ran to the religion which don’t benefit women. It’s a breeding ground for hate, cult like mentality, narcissism, control, and manipulation. I won’t be shocked someday she runs from religion and starts to try to come back to rap music. When you’re apart of Christian culture you’re always living on edge thinking about conspiracies or “the end of times” is toxic. It’s like a form of escapism. There’s a lot of Christianity that hasn’t been proven the book has been misconstrued by humans. That’s not something to worship and believe stories that could be folklores or mythologies can create a better world. It starts with people not a book or a religion. God isn’t a man or a woman imo. I saw she became judgemental to others who don’t align with her lifestyle which shows she hasn’t fully healed. Religion is a crunch and Clinic for broken traumatized people majority of the time. They been spooked by the dark side of humanity or ran through or life has got the best of them. She was sexually exploited herself and told those hard rough stories in those lyrics, she shouldn’t project that onto others. I believe she still has trauma from absorbing all those toxic energies from the hip hop males, fake women in the hip hop community, and being around all those toxic hip hop people. I do know she had sex with that ugly e-class old male to get that $10,000.00 advance back then in 2002-2003 and she was physically assaulted by that Brisco male rapper who’s from Florida to. She’s been through a lot I’m sure from the industry that’s why she left it. I believe she was pushed to become more sexual as well and I know she had got plastic surgery on her body low key. Like she was promised to see the world but those males around her and that label was trifling. Her lyrics were always exposing how she felt and she seemed like she didn’t trust nobody around her in her rap days or she would rap about her pain from her teenage life in Miami. I do know she exposed she grew up in the Pork-N-Bean projects in her mixtapes and how she was a criminal doing boosting in Miami. She was talented and attractive but she dabbled in the hip hop community which is one of the most low vibrational sections of music in history regardless of how people try to make it look fun or cool to spit “bars”. I believe she was also preyed upon sexually by those males because she used to roll around with a bunch random dusty males with no protection, those males didn’t protect her. So I’m sure she’s resentful of the cards she was dealt in that hip hop culture and the world because she comes from extreme poverty. She talked about in her songs that she did things for money to survive that weren’t good. That still shouldn’t give her the right to become homophobic or misogynistic or hateful. Mental health and trauma has to be dealt with through therapy not religion, religion actually exploits people to and it’s a big old trauma bonding festival that keeps you in a state of mind of low vibrations. It’s not a “safe” haven like people believe but if she found happiness that’s good for her but I haven’t heard nice things about her. Young women in rap needs to understand which I can’t control is that when you rap about hyper sexual things or participate in sexually degrading practices for deals/sponsors then you will be mistreated or you will open a portal up for the wrong type of people that will attract to you. I listen to these women rappers and girls but I know the music is just that and I didn’t do the things they rapped about in those songs. I don’t even listen to male rappers at all in any way shape or form, it’s to low vibrational. I do support women though but I do know if you’re a female rapper discussing sex 24-7 or rapping about your vagina or sexual orientation or trying to be down with “dudes” to show off your toughness that can result to toxic things in that industry. I’m sure there’s sexual predator producers or writers or male artists that will try to come onto you in that urban community with disrespect or try to possibly assault you. That’s why you have to have thick skinned to fight back, don’t settle for less, don’t let your desperation for money drive you to exploit yourself or settle for less. These women should pick a lawyer for these contracts and with someone you can trust thoroughly that’s not a snake or a leech, keep a small circle of people who do care about the person not only the artist you portray and go into studios alone to record your verses. Like don’t open your legs to those males for beats or clothes or wigs or records. Don’t date industry males and find partners or real friends in other professions that’s not fame hungry who can harm you or these people who want you to owe them anything. Sometimes even not sex but you don’t have to kiss a male ass for that stuff either or giving them fake praises. I see so many women will call these males in hip hop their “brothers” but alot of the time it’s fake superficial friendships to save face. Some of those hip hop male give those women hard times because they wanna have sex with them so once the women artist declines. It’s disgusting then once you lay on your back to sleep around then you’re gonna become known for that then those males will try to disrespect you or harm you. It can be dangerous for women to objectify themselves to these predators. Like Ashanti revealed she slept with that fat ugly man irv Gotti for a contract and records, he then blackballed Ashanti and was abusive like a pimp. It’s so crazy how women are in these situations in that industry. I would DECLINE or end up with a charge if I was apart if that industry randoms tried to prey on me. If they black ball that’s fine there’s other skills god has to offer in this lifetime for us. You can be wealthy but not famous as well in other career or business endeavors that don’t sexually degrade women or you have to worry about sex crazed misogynists preying in you just to be a rapper. Sometimes if you don’t give up sex, you have to work harder to get notoriety in that industry. which is fine as well because then you don’t have to worry about selling yourself short or having sex with weirdos in that business for a song or a record contract. I know a lot of women have faced that but to afraid to come out and some do protect these men themselves. Like Nicki Minaj has been objectified by males in that hip hop world. I don’t support her for being with a rapist gang banger male but she didn’t sleep around for deals which took her a long time to get signed because Nicki didn’t have sex. I read how “Deb” waka flame mother said Gucci Mane hated Nicki Minaj because she didn’t have sex with him, it’s so disgusting that Nicki then went to give him fake praises for nothing which shows she’s male identified as hell for that. Don’t kiss these males asses for nothing. Lil’Wayne has even sexually harassed Nicki but she laughs since he’s the bosses and she’s played around sexually teasing him. I have seen Wayne tell her “I would be f***ng if we was not famous or had business together” or he has lusted after her ass so many times and made passes at her. It’s gross that people ignored this. I heard that “Fendi” guy she was with wanted to have sex with her as well but Nicki curved him wayyy back prior to fame. It’s a mess that those hip hop males is sexual deviants and sex crazed which their music speaks for themselves. Foxy Brown was raped in studios when she was underage by older male rappers and she was dating these older male rappers as well, she’s another one who was preyed on because she was a young child. She’s been through hell even though she’s had her crazy life moments or losing her hearing. I really felt like Asian Doll the rapper nowadays who was signed to Gucci Mane, it’s possible she slept with Gucci Mane from what people has said. It’s crazy because Gucci mane is like that. Rick Ross another who has said that you have to have sex with him to be his artist if you’re a female. I’m telling you that’s why Eve the rapper she played her cards well. Eve looked at it as a business and she rapped but never dated those guys in droves or even objectified herself in any way or acted hyper sexual at all. She was classy and did her job like a job but stayed away from the dark side and avoided these toxic hip hop males preying on her. She did well and I’m glad she made it and crossed over then had her own shit to where she didn’t have to continue to depend on hip hop males to help her. Also she found love outside the hip hop industry which was good for her. She had her past but I’m glad she made it out properly without dabbling in drugs or having sex for records or let that world breakdown her mental health or let them exploit her like crazy.
