It really was the golden age of the 100m, where most of the greatest performances of all time took place. Bolt, Gay, Blake, Powell, and Gatlin who combine, account for the fastest 15 100m times ever run, all competing against one another. Of the top 15 times ever run, Bolt has 7 of those, Blake 4, Gatlin 3, Gay 2, Powell 2. I doubt we'll ever see such a group again.

Yea it is crazy how deep the 100m was. Literally the Bolt era which may not be replicated for decades to come. Top-15 performances and top 5 performers of all time from that period. And I know some are talking about Gatlin's 9.75 potentially getting surpassed soon, but eve after that you have to get to 9.72 to pass Powell and then 9.6's for Gay/Blake. And we can just forget Bolt's 9.5 for now haha

This really is your redemption video, Anderson! In all seriousness Blake, a Jamaican, still winning the gold in 2011 really did show the world the depth of Jamaican sprinting and could’ve been one of the key reasons why the USA in 2012 had such a strong group of athletes; in order to challenge the likes of Bolt, Blake, Powell, Frater, Carter, etc, etc! Hopefully something similar happens in the next few years as I’m sure the performances of the likes of Kishane and Oblique will enable even more Jamaican men and women to get back to the heights of Bolt and co along with the strong USA team that’s also building up (e.g. Lyles, Kerley, Bednarek, Coleman, Lindsey, Miller) and that’s even without people like Bromell and Laird in their best form. Not to mention the African revolution that’s taking place in sprinting as Simbine, Omanyala and Tebogo are fully showing that African men and women can and are competing with Team USA and Jamaica (e.g. Men’s 4x400m Olympic Final and Men’s 4x100m Olympic Final)!

Hahaha I had this in the tuck cause I knew the overrated opinion would get me mixed reviews!😅 I think with Kiahsne winning silver, that proved that Jamaica is not out of the game and they will be motivated to get back into the mix of things. Even Oblique knows that he cant keep missing these podiums year after year. Ackeem, Bryan Levell, Ryiem Forde etc will be looking to drop their times and get more competitive with the rest of the world. I think what were in right now is an era of quality sprinting from everyone around the world. like you said, the USA, and Africa, but then also Europe with Lamont, Zharnel, Louie, Azu. I think maybe the 90s was the closest with so much quality from around the world with USA, GB, Caribbean, African Nations, etc all with fast guys for the time. Can wait for Tokyo next year!

@@TheFinalLeg Yessir! The people who just reminisce in the 'Bolt Era' (which we all do to an extent lmao) can't appreciate what we've got at the moment and think any times above 9.70 are slow. This is hands down the most stacked era in history in terms of overall times and there's probably going to be even more people on the come-up - as you mentioned!

We tend to look back at that era with very rose-tinted glasses as too many ppl either genuinely forget or conveniently gloss over the amount of bans/suspensions (short & long) that resulted as athletes from a number of countries inc USA & JAM tried to respond to Bolt after '08 & '09 which has unfortunately contributed to the unrealistic expectations re times from today's athletes.

Its, interesting, I think for the most part, the only 1 was technically Tyson in 2013. Asafa's positive was found to be no fault of his own as per CAC Gatlin was before Bolt Blake was in 2009, but I don't know if that was technically responding to Bolt since he was still young (ban occurred from the 2009 trials). Those are obviously the top guys, but I hear you. Bolt shifted the game and forced everyone to step things up, but at least on the track resulted in performances that will be hard to take down for years (9.75 and faster)

For a small nation, Jamaica has been quite consistent. After Bolt there was another drought primarily because Yohan, who should have been the natural successor to Bolt, was sidelined due to injury. The future now, however, is looking promising once again for Jamaican male sprinting. Good balanced commentary

Exactly, and honestly, outside of the 90s/early 2000s as well as the few years after Bolt retired, Jamaica as always been one of the most consistent. As I noted in the video, its easy to forget how dominant they were back in the 40s-80s at various points with various names. Your 100% correct that things look promising with Kishane, Oblique, Ackeem, Bryan and others who are young and getting better. Appreciate you bro!

Athletic Analytics: With all mediating confounds kept to negligible impact(s), the hope is that "competitions" within the Jamaica cadre of sprinters--Ackeem Blake, Oblique Seville, and Kishane Thompson--will scale in the 100-meter feat to achieve more-than-modest gains from "training" to race with global contenders. Racing competitions portend concentration levels of (a) 67% within the three-athlete rivalry of the male sprinters from Jamaica:¹ i.e., the 67% concentration ratio indicates the likelihood of 2 out of 3 favorable athletes will emerge with repeated dominance in the 100-meter feat; (b) 60% level for competitions with the three-leading sprinters from Jamaica versus global-male sprinters:² i.e., a concentration index of 60% denotes that 3 out of the top 5 sprinters will have highly competitive tradeoffs with timed speeds. Further, this means that there will be a 33% (1 - 0.67) parity with the performance levels among Blake, Seville, and Thompson. Blake, Seville, and Thompson's performance(s) will have a 40% (1 - 0.60) parity with global contenders in the 100-meter sprint. (A training regimen, anchored in the dynamics of the 60-meter sprint for speed and pegged on the (110-meter) sprint for muscle memory, will yield (a) for Blake, 9.84 (9.87) seconds³'⁴ in the 100-meter competition; (b) for Seville, 9.77 (9.80) seconds⁵'⁶ in the 100-meter-flat race;(c) for Thompson, 9.72 (9.75) seconds),⁷'⁸ in the sprint, over 100 meters. Predictably, for the 2025-arhletic season (a) Blake's speed, in the 100-meter sprint, will average at circa (ca.) 9.87 (± 0.09635) seconds;⁹ (b) Seville will scale at an average of ca. 9.80 (± 0.09431) seconds;¹⁰ (c) Thompson will run at an average speed of ca. 9.75 (± 0.09288) seconds,¹¹ mutatis mutandis. With absence of unforeseen hinderances, the hope remains that the Jamaican-male athletes will emerge as a triumvirate, in the 100-meter sprint, during the 2025-athletic season. ___NB______________ ¹67% ≈ 0.6721254229 = (((3²)1/e³)/2!))) × (((3!/((2!(3 - 2)!))) ²60% ≈ 0.6030640778 = (1.6030640778 - 1) = [(((8³)1/e⁸)/3!))) × (((8!/((3!(8 - 3)!))) - 1], where 8, 3, and 2 refer to the number of athletes in a final race, top-three-male athletes from Jamaica, and 2 of the top-three-Jamaican sprinters possibly competing together in several races, respectively. ³9.84 ≈ 9.8368750273 = [9.89 × (((1 - (((9.83*/((60² + 60)/2)))], where *9.83 refers to the geometric average of 9.89 (Blake), 9.82 (Seville), and 9.77 (Thompson). ⁴9.87 ≈ 9.8740755610 = [9.89 × (((1 - (((9.83/((110² + 110)/2)))] ⁵9.77 ≈ 9.7672510382 = [9.82 × (((1 - (((9.83/((60² + 60)/2)))] ⁶9.80 ≈ 9.8041882719 = [9.82 × (((1 - (((9.83/((110² + 110)/2)))] ⁷9.72 ≈ 9.7175196174 = [9.77 × (((1 - (((9.83/I ((60² + 60)/2)))] ⁸9.75 ≈ 9.7542687796 = [9.77 × (((1 - (((9.83/((110² + 110)/2)))] ⁹9.87 ≈ 9.8707487722 = [9.89 × (((1 - (((9.83/((100² + 100)/2)))] ¹⁰9.80 ≈ 9.8008850297 = [9.82 × (((1 - (((9.83/((100² + 100)/2)))] ¹¹9.75 ≈ 9.7509823564 = [9.77 × (((1 - (((9.83/((100² + 100)/2)))]

Anderson you really let the Jamaicans bully you into deleting the Blake video. Wow. Disappointing. You can make videos giving opinions on American athletes careers but once the Jamaicans hit with it they respond with emotions. I know they are a big part of track community and your audience but that’s poor.
