In west edmonton mall, by the lake with the ship, right above the Cinzeo on the ledge there is a very nice family of Pigeons. They have a nest up there. This is useless information but they like to fly around the ship. They are good birbs.

I shared this video with some Disneyland Fans. That interview with Rolly Crump is awesome. I love his comment about going to Canada - like that thought was just bizarre. "No, I didn't play it because they built it in CANADA. Why would they build it THERE?!"

Those robots gave me nightmares as a kid! They left such an impression on me as a 5 year old that it’s one of my first memories that I still remember. I always thought the robots were chasing me through the maze. They were terrifying at the time but would love to go through it now.

Lazer Maze is barely a memory ... But that first clip of the robot in your video gave me freakin' flashbacks. Vietnam. And congrats on speaking to Rolly Crump! I only know Jeff Heimbuch, so you're one less degree of separation. But anyways, it would never even have occurred to me that he, or any Imagineer, was involved with anything up here in Canada. Super cool!

I think I recall seeing a photo of something called Lazer maze in Niagara Falls Ontario, it was either in the Mall that was connected to Maple Leaf Village or the former attraction space in the minolta tower.

Do you remember a laser tag go kart place across from Galaxy land? It was its own attraction in a rented space across the hall from Galaxyland. The karts had laser tag guns mounted on the steering column which had hand grips to steer. As you zoomed around you could shoot each other.

What happened to the lazer tag that was in galaxy land. It was in like a blow up castle and you had a vest on and you just shot the other people in their with you. My brother and I freaking loved it and would literally play for hours. My dad would just pay for a bunch of times and we stayed in there. I loved it! Miss it! It was amazing flying around and diving in the blow up house.

Early-to-mid nineties.... there was a giant inflated pod that was essentially a Lazer Tag arena in Galaxyland. It was where the Time Freak/Lazer Vault stuff is now. Basically they rented sensor vests and lazer guns to you, and you all jumped through a rubber flap into this giant dark balloon with parallel corridors and played no-holds-barred lazer tag for 10 minutes. Does anyone else remember this? It was pretty AWESOME!!!

I think quirks in the works is based on Lazer maze because they both kinda the same but instead you have to sit down and ride on something

I think I remember seeing the Lazer Maze and wanting to try it out, but I never got a chance to. Judging by the description that it was only a minute and a half long though, if I wanted to shoot around a laser gun for a while I'd probably be better off playing a game of laser tag.

Id love to see someone build this as an experience in vrchat. Ive been thinking how cool would it be to build some of these vintage spaces in blender and rig it up in unity to be played and experienced by others in Vrchat. I had vague memories from when i was a little kid in the 80s. I would travel from Invermere bc to edmonton to visit family and of course west edmonton mall was were we would go. I have memories of the fantasyland and there being a jungle gym type place where there were caverens with mirrors and there would be backlights to change the mirror image to a scary face . the lazer maze reminded me of that same thing. ive tried to find out if there was anything like that in the jungle jim. but perhaps it was just the lazer maze i remember. I was born in 80 so I may have been too young to go to the lazer maze durring the time it was open. anyways thank you for making these videos . some of the best 80s nostalgia for me regarding the 80s and malls for that matter.

Interesting! I can still remember going into the Canadian Tire where the T&T supermarket is now, but I always remembered The Brick being beside the Pebble Beach golf. Even the 1988 mall directory brochure I have shows The Brick, with the Lazer Maze in Fantasyland. Must have been very short-lived, as you mentioned in the video.
