I miss the days when G-unit was at their peak and had beef with a lot of artists, Hip Hop was more enjoyable back then. Banks is top 10 in my opinion. He raps circles around most of these new rap clowns.
@rubinturner82335 жыл бұрын
True. But that doesn't sell records. That's the only thing that matters to the industry. 50 cent said it best. Messing the bag up. It's not just about punchlines and lyrics. It's about HIT RECORDS.
@stevenbeets98635 жыл бұрын
Rubin Turner Rubin Turner banks’ music isn’t for drake stans. Banks takes the time to create something meaningful with each word he writes. If you listen to south side story on the hunger for more you’ll notice that the track isn’t a “HIT” however it’s one of the best tracks to have ever been written because it paints a vivid picture in my mind with each bar and that’s something your favorite rapper probably cannot do.
@rubinturner82335 жыл бұрын
@@stevenbeets9863 I'm from New York. Don't you think I know that? LOL that's NOT the point! 50 was a gangsta and he never had a problem make commercial tunes for the radio for the sales part and hardcore shit for underground. If you're ever going to make it a career time has PROVEN you have to do BOTH. Lloyd is great at mixtapes not commercial emceeing. Even if his music is not intended for teenybopper crowds...that doesn't mean that millions will go to the store and cop it. That's just reality. Now...if we look at guys from the 90s and early 2000s we remember Snoop Doggy Dogg had Dre help to craft songs. Not just lyrical music. He became the biggest thing in rap because his music appeal to everyone even as hardcore as it was back then! So let's not act like it can't be done. Em music was never crafted for Drake type fans either but them shows be packed and sales are made with ease. He found a way to mesh the character Slim Shady with his commerical releases and give the lyrics fans something always. Busta Rhymes. The Fugees. I mean the list goes on and on. Banks never figured out his formula to do that. That's why 50 basically had to hook him and Yayo up with features to break them to the commerical audiences. The only one who could in a basketball sense create his own shot without assists was Game. And even he got 50 features on The Documentary. But after he left GUnit he still could make splashes with his style of music. He learned how to market his gangsta shit for the masses and WITHOUT GUnit! Both Banks and Yayo couldn't do it.

Lloyd Banks is not lazy in terms of music. The guy released like 5 Mixtapes in 2 years back in 2007 - 2009. However, what I think they meant by lazy is that Lloyd Banks never promotes his songs or do something to lit a buzz around his music. For example, like recording music videos, advertising them any chance he can get, promising music but never delivering, etc. He hasn't released an Album in 9 Years and he hasn't released a mixtape in 3 Years. If he drops a a new project, Cold Corner 3, Halloween Havoc 4 Or All Or Nothing 3 Is Probably the Next One the list. I genuinely hope he gets a new hit and be on top of the industry again like he was in 2003 to 2007.
