Have a surveyor come in and map the drainage of your property. A couple well placed drainage channels dug towards the pond could go a very long way in refilling the pond and keep water levels high with minimal rain.

You have two options 1 get clay and/or bentonite or 2 a pond liner there is no cheap solution to your problem. Cutting down the trees will only make it worse because the roots will dry out rot and give more way for water to escape.

Jon, I cannot put into words how much of a reality check this video was. The first video I watched of yours was 9 years ago when you talked about the Bass Pro Shops Popper in the “Best $1 Lure For Topwater Bass” video. I was 11 and just getting access to KZbin for the first time and begged my parents to take me to the store (to this day I have a stockpile of them that I use). I have been a fan ever since and have some OG tees and sweatshirts as well as the googan baits. For some reason seeing your child, the property, etc. just slapped me in the face in how much of a journey you have taken us all along on and for how long. I personally am beyond grateful for you and what you bring to this “sport”. The quality of the videos are always on point, especially recently. Thank you for being you and taking us along on this journey.

Bro your best bet moving forward would be to get an underground retention tank/reservoir to try to gather extra water during the wet months. Like if you could plumb your down spouts into it and what not you'd be able to have a bunch of free water for the dry season. The problem with rainwater is that it's soft so you might wanna add a bit of minerals back to it but would seriously cut the costs long term if you wanted to keep more water in it

Hey, I have a great idea on how to deal with those wasps in the solar panel, and it came from when I had wasps in my mailbox. My mailbox is on top of a hollow pole, and so some wasps got in there and all I had to do was make sure they were trapped, so I just took a big bottle of wasp spray and went early 40s Germany on them. Even if you don’t spray them directly, it’ll basically gas them out and they’ll all come out choking and unable to fly.
@Davivd2Ай бұрын
Just a heads up. All of those trees that you cut down. The roots are still going to be pulling water out of your pond and in a few months those stumps are going to have new branches growing out of them.

imo probably the pond is not a do-it-yourself job. Need to line the bottom with clay, the greenery around the edges is not stealing that much water, given Texas you probably need a way to add water occasionally.
@dennynelson7776Ай бұрын
In a place where rain is scarce greenery absolutely will affect your pond levels, the average tree can consume 10-150gallons of water a day
