I wonder if the same people in the comments would go up to a chef at a cafe and say “why do you need all this fancy cookware, I’ve made breakfast at home and have a hand mixer and I do just fine” or go up to a builder and say “don’t know why you waste your money on all these tools to build a house, I have a screwdriver and built a cupboard and i did it just fine”. Don’t think they get the concept that this is your job.

Welcome to conversion life 😂. The Na fg boxes are a lottery. I have one on my GQ with 330rkw... Have done 10,000km. The turbo fgs are definitely a lot better, but a built box will be a forever deal. Have done a Barra into a ford xc Falcon and a GQ. Both have had some teething. But once through it, you are laughing.

Having built several Toyotas I know how you feel, it's a never ending exercise in chasing your tail once you do high HP engine conversions. Patrols are so much easier and cheaper to build!

And better to drive and work on. I did 2 80’s before I gave up and went to a GU and I’ll never go back. TB48 with a few tickles will outperform this thing every day of the week, and now doing a 6bt series 4, took it for its first run the other day and I cannot wipe the smile off my face. It just runs and does everything effortlessly!

Engine swap it they said - it's not that hard they said. Luv how you guys showing the stress, and difficulties - how it is in the real world - doing the barra swap on the 80. Stick with it, coming along great. Keep up the content. Dare I say it - keep following Burto's advice - do it once, the right way. Demi must owe for all of this. If someone was smart - they'd record the in's and out's and should be able to sell advice on how to

Guy's I did tell you the top mount turbo would put too much heat there where master cylinder was. I put cover on mine same as yours but it did not work. Fluid still got too hot on long trips. had to go bottom mount turbocharger. Been there and done that. Its not in a 80 series mine in a good car a short GQ Nissan. The master cylinders lines almost same place as your 80.

How does engineering pass that bullbar? Unless it does have adr compliance meeting all the crash requirements etc? Does the engineer want to see front axle weight? For SOUND dampening one need open cell material, like foam etc. For DRONE dampening one just needs to cover 20-30% !!! of the sheet metal. 😁 If one does not believe me, check out any car hifi expert.
