What happened to Session and Skater XL!? It's been over a month since my last Skater XL or Session video and I felt like it was about time to update you guys about everything going on... or lack of things going on... Lately, Skater XL and Session have both been pretty dead. However, they both released pretty big updates somewhat recently, so I wanted to check out some of the new features and see how both games are feeling.

Yea but skater XL has a "real" multiplayer. But session could be a skate 3 successor if they added it , even though skate 4 is coming out soon.

@@j.e3336 my biggest frustration with Skater XL on Xbox is the floaty controls making some maps unplayable, the lack of stat changes kills it, also would be nice if the board wasn’t upside down for I feel like skater XL feels more like skate 2 than session does, skater XL is still smoother, session was unplayable for the first 18 months until the updates I agree the multiplayer works really well on Skater XL, really not sure why session wouldn’t introduce this! Worth having both games just wish skater XL could tone down the floaty feel and bring some bigger / open maps but not looking promising anymore

Haven't played Sessions yet unfortunately but I've had XL since release and absolutely hate it. All this time later and it still feels unfinished. I mean it took this long to incorporate a variety of grabs!

Lol idk if your on Pc but it’s the other way around I have both skater Xl is the lesser of the 2 session is the most realistic game there is and skater Xl is more expensive and more unpolished it’s ridiculous skater Xl may only have an easier learning curve session I give credit to as it’s come so long from what it was originally it was dog shit looked like dog shit and now it feels like a full game compared to xl which is 3 times the price for no reason

I would have never played it if I didn’t accidentally Buy it lol it’s one of the first games that I bought accidentally after playing it on release day hating it and returning it on PC playing skater XL for a few years hating it because the developers ripped us off they made millions and left us in the dirt to dry My wife was on my computer accidentally bought It because it was in my cart along with a few other games when she cashed out and I played it I have to say it is the best skating video game I’ve ever played in my life. Better than skate three maybe skate two But you get this vibe where you could just chill all day doing crazy tricks it’s just a fun ass vibe don’t give me wrong skate 4 it’s going to blow both of these games out of the water unfortunately with the game being free that means there will be a ton of micro transactions but with that being said I guarantee you that’ll be the best skating game ever made because you will have insane physics made by the AAA Developer along with arcade physics it’s supposed to be the most realistic skating game ever made hopefully it lives up to that

@@thebuffalogills7586 I've been following Session's on KZbin since it came out and been hoping for a playstation release but unfortunately never got it. The development team actually care about delivering a good skating game and you can see that with the updates and gameplay footage. I'm actually considering getting it on the switch but it doesn't look too great on that console lol. It feels like with XL that the devs just did a rug pull. Pushed out an unfinished game that was ridiculously overpriced and never put any of the profits back into the game. So for the time being I still have my 360, ps1 and ps2 connected so I can keep playing the skate and THPS series until the release of skate 4.

Does anyone know if the Skater XL update has come to console, can remember updating mine. After watching this I loaded up skater XL but the transition skating feels the same. Just super glitchy and hard to control, also can’t seem to grab the board at all.

Yeah I believe they like, don’t do console updates or something like that. Since it’s release there have literally been like 3 updates for it and none have been crazy groundbreaking 🙃🥲 I could be wrong because I stopped following the game after no new content or anything was added after over a year so hopefully they have been releasing updates, but I doubt it unfortunately :/

They should merge the company, use the level of session + XL and the animations / characters of XL and the story of session. Best of both worlds On the long term it's the only way to crush the future EA SKATE 4. The main cons of skate 4 gonna be mods and maps. But the pro gonna be history and the online. Even if XL have tons of maps and have perfect gameplay i can't play 1 hour every day alone, it's boring. This is why they need a online versus to play against other people. Online add extra life to a solo game.

Yeah less glitchy, heres all the glitches ive found: Jumping and hopping on your board mid air makes the camera clip thru the floor A bench becomes unmovable + wont consider the tricks done Tricks wont register sometimes even if you do them correctly Mission objectives sometimes dont have a completion symbol but you still hear the sound. (Restart your game, the whole mission system glitched) Sometimes mission area squiggle lines reappear on spots you already finished a line on (the next lines doesnt require that spot) Sometimes hitting the wall with your head and making you bail, sometimes your head clips thru The board sometimes gets stuck on your body and on other places

my videos show nothing is wrong with transition.. well there is.. on the devs part- but nothing wrong with it once you know the rules of manipulation on it.. I been on this for 2 years and have a formula i even teach console players at near 100% performance increase based on only 3 rules.. its not a hard system.. but its a system most stubborn ppl wont commit a month to no street like I did to learn this bypass of their crappy code. If there is a will , then there is a way.... and my vids prove this

You will not get bored of session i promise you, if you skate or have skated irl and have any understanding of skateboards session is the place to be. it gives you such good feelings of, wow. OMG, AMAZING HOLY SHIT THAT WAS CLEAN YO!!! Play skater xl with mods if you enjoy Skate 1-2-3 and have no knowledge of skateboarding because at the end of the day you won't appreciate the tricks so it doesn't matter

Board breaking i guess is huge, but once you have that moment of, "wow i just broke my board", you turn it off, because it serves no real purpose. It would be like if they added random pebbles that bail you while riding, "wow i just hit a pebble, thats so realistic!" and then you turn it off.

Session all the way, I’ve put hundreds, possibly thousands of Hours into both, including modded/un modded. Session is literally a million times better on console than skater XL, on PC I’d say skater XL but ONLY modded. Which is honestly really bad, like they’re game is only good because of the community so that in of itself is kinda another reason to play session IMO. Session might “feel” worse to some people but I’m very confident most of those people have not even tried to get into it/are just mad it’s harder haha. Once you put time into it and learn the game/fine tune the settings to your liking it’s so much better than XL. Just like really skating, session is much more fulfilling in the sense you actually have to battle for stuff and earn your tricks/clips. I find skater XL to just be a lot easier and more of a casual experience, to each their own though.

Even on console, session feels like your playing a game with mods. I have both for PS and both on PC. Session is damn near perfect on console/vanilla settings while skater xl is trash af without mods. They even have options on the console version of session that's normally only seen(a few exceptions like THUG 1 & 2) with mods.

I got it on the Nintendo switch paying almost $50 something like that played for five minutes. I was so pissed off I actually called Nintendo and say hey this game does not work on my switch correctly. I only have a switch light. I have it on the Xbox. It works fine but on my switch lite, it does nothing but glitch freeze and it’s horrible. I’m wondering if there’s anyway to get my money back and they actually refunded me shout out and turn down her doing the right thing because the game sucks on the switch it doesn’t run it’s horrible. I only paid $10 for the game on Xbox last year and it runs fine on there. So just a word of advice do not buy this on the switch. It is horrible and I guarantee the price drops in a few weeks and it goes down like five dollars. It does nothing but glitch in freeze glitch in the freeze. It looks like a Nintendo 64 game do not buy anyways good luck stick to the Xbox version and like I said it’s gonna be like five dollars on the switch in a few weeks guarantee then I’ll buy it and then after they do upgrades it hopefully will be better anyways to Garrett. Keep up the good work in you eat a chance on enjoy watching someone who is actually good at it play I’m actually a bmxer and all we have is pipe and all I have is an Xbox and it’s horrible and on there there’s three levels nothing to do it’s just boring. I still play Dave Mirra two for my PS2 I think that’s the best BMX game and I’m 37 years old. I still ride and I remember that came out when I was a kid and I was mind blown and I’m still happy with that game. Hopefully someday they come out with a better be in last week, but I’m happy with skate two and three. I think they’re the best extreme sport games i’m done rambling now. Just one more time.
