I remember when UT was also about discovering players, I remember using a silver muriel, non-rare gold julien draxler (fifa 14) throughout the whole game, now its just a race to mbappe and R9

I used to cook on fifa 14 and 15 with brasilvers and cheap beasts. With 5k coins you could buy emenike, doumbia, and eto’o. 10 years ago there was literally no point in spending more than discard value on cards

And having super high rated cards was a luxury. I never got a non-loan 85+ player until near the end of fifa 17!

Back in the day where there were literally no promos, you were hyped for Team of the Week and after some months you had to look for your own ways to make the game more fun and started to look what silver players look good... It was actually so much more fun than just being pack addicted like now Bro... Agbonlahor and Wynne too... Or there were some real OP Bundesliga cards too that I remember, Toprak, Moritz Leitner, and Elyounoussi and Sio... Or in Fifa 14 Alexandru Maxim❤

Im brazilian, and i miss the times when we had the brazilian league in fifa. Im proabably not even going to buy fc 25, but if we had the brazilian league i would buy it in a heartbeat. I want to play with my club and the players i like, too bad that beloved ea sports cant get in to an agreement with the brazilian league

Agreed, also Brazilian League heroes would be amazing D'Alessandro, Fred, Rogério Ceni, Diego Souza. But for some reason EA doesn't really give much attention to South American leagues in FIFA, probably because they wouldn't make them that much money (?)

To this day, silvers were my absolute favourite thing about FIFA/FC. Something about finding a cracked player within certain stat restrictions, the hype, rarity, price etc.. even now I make silver squads on Futbin for no reason. I just wish there was a way we could still use them like silver lounge at least

I remember having silver cards of Pablo Armero and Ignazio Abate in 13, and they were better than every back i used. Those 2 were legends for me and kept their spots even after i had stacked teams

I think we just have to accept that the power curve is higher now, so cheap gold cards are now the silvers of the past. Let's be realistic, majority of the gold cards themselves are outdated by January, which wasn't the case before FIFA 19. The community has just gotten more and more used to more content, and we expect that from EA. We love to complain that the power curve is too high and fast but the moment they don't drop any content at 1PM the entire twitter replies are "nontent". We've been conditioned to expect more, and this is coming from someone who started in FIFA 15 and was fine not having constant promos, but I've changed along with the game. I honestly also have no desire to play with terrible bronze and silver cards. I didn't in 2015 and I don't now, at least with EVOs we can make them better. That's just my opinion though, love you Dagnal my GOAT

Feels like the weekly Silver Stars obj cards would have been more viable and actually made it into people’s teams with the introduction of Playstyles and Roles. Sad that they’ve stopped doing it

Genuinely one of the reasons I fell out of love with FIFA, silvers were my favourite cards and I used the odd one over the last few years, Cunha, Leao, Kim Min Jae in Kleague, St juste etc. I miss OP silvers being 100k, even bronze cards could do something. Miss my Mayuka man As someone said, it's the engine, the same way those huge dipping longshots disappeared

I think a big factor of silver squads disappearing is that the Brazilian league is gone bc most (hidden) gems came from that league

I used to not complain in the old fifas with FUT champs that my team was worse cuz I knew there was still enough skill gap that if I was better I’d win, no matter the team. These past two fifas, now that ai is so strong, it just feels like 80% of who’s going to win is who has the more expensive team.

I miss my silver stars team. Even now I have a full first owner team. Playing the game normally you can have a super team by week 1.

I preferred Leonardo of RB Salzburg as a left footer on the right wing w/4*skill moves, and Keirrison as ST (4-3-2-1). But silver Brazilians were the most fun back then as a kid :) Stopped playing Fifas after 2015...

All EA want you to care about is the P-O-W-E-R C-U-R-V-E, which means overall rating++, PS++ and Role++ 😂 That's the opposite direction to making silver cards usable and the game fun again. Power curve wasn't a thing back in the days, and life was good 😌

Tournaments won’t help in the slightest. The gameplay is entirely at fault. Even gold players are painful to play with in this slow clunky delayed game, silvers would be unbearable when everyone just parks the bus and lets AI defend for them

Player playstyles render most of the cards useless. Enzo fernandez with gold long passes is like 100 times better than Trent at long balls which obviously shouldn't be that big of a difference. All EA wanta to do is make money and thats why pricier cards will be more and more unbalanced.

I tried playing this shit again ln, it was mildly fun for the first 2/3 days but now its just so stale and boring I give up... I'm pretty good too, above average easily and been playing since '12 but even when I'm winning.... I'm still raging at how stupid this gameplay feels, If I concede 1 goal, because of EA's dogturd gameplay I just back out... not worth it, don't get anything even when I play well because when the game is this scripted there is barely any skill required to win in this game

I’d give anything to go back to FIFA 13. Could play the game for hours with no other content just because I enjoyed the game. No it’s just an endless trash spiral of meta chasing rats, awful RNG gameplay, power creep
