It's a combination of flying the crap out of them and the fact that it's winter time so all of the issues that we may not have had in the summer are presenting themselves now.

@@nickgalasso6086 I have been passionate about aviation as long as I can remember. I earned my PPL before my drivers license and studied aircraft maintenance while working on my pilot ratings. I enjoy the heck out of maintenance (and im still involved through my maintenance company) but it was only a matter of time before I went back to the piloting full time. I'm happiest in the air. As far as doing one or the other I can't make that call for you. Find it in your heart. They both have their ups and downs so trying each is a good start. In terms of education cost, maintenance will be far cheaper, but you should also do a discovery flight somewhere to see how you feel about flying. Best wishes!

Chris Ebeling that is what the PC 12 calls out in there AMM. No Tq wrench, just spin hand Tq - 0 - move to next hole. Crazy I know, but that is what PC 12 calls out for.

@@mobileaerialshots6040 you are correct sir. these aircraft were designed to take off and land on undeveloped runways, the crew can only carry so many tools,and spares (parts) torque wrench for a simple tire R&R not needed.

No, there is random drug testing under DOT covered positions such as aircraft maintenance.

I don't think having a medical card makes a difference since the DOT is a federal agency and the federal government has outlawed the use of cannabis (even for medical reasons)
