It was a sad /happy day today. I waved bye bye to my 1999 93 Aero this morning after almost 2months of it sat at a garage with no brakes and not much chance of fixing it for less than the car was worth. I loaded it onto the truck of the SAAB guy I know.( who will likely break it for spares) When it had it's MOT test just before we managed to screw the brakes up there was quite a lot of rust starting underneath. And whilst you can weld up patches to put off the day of execution. It was clear that unless I was going to spend £1000s having it restored it would be dead in the next year or two. The happy part was this happened just after he unloaded the the 2009 93 Aero Sport waggon I bought off him yesterday.

Yeah, I was wondering where the NEVS and Emily GT has disappeared, seemed very quiet. Still waiting for some good news. Hope you get well soon!

Your gonna end up Technical Director of Saab Emily GT if you're not careful :)

I’ve been hoping for some news on EmilyGT. It’s a impressive concept, and looked to be a production ready prototype. 🤞

My idle thoughts and somewhat fantasies I guess is that the Emily GT could have also been produced as a hybrid hatch back version that would be successful and impressive enough that Saab Aerospace would re-license the Saab name to Nevs and a version or at least off shoot of Saab would be resurrected.

The plates on the garage wall- have you had all of them or is it just a display??

I used to live in Trollhättan, work at Saab and drive an old Saab. Emily GT looks nice and is likely a good concept. But it is way too late. The electric car marked is not what it used to be. Most of the producers are having financial issues now, so I don’t see who would invest in a disrupted project like the Emily GT.

Agreed, the Emily GT is a very cool example of Saab-esq innovation and engineering. Surely seeing it come to production would re-energize many a Saabaholic. Feel better, Jacob! 🚫🤧

Feel better! I think the "apparel" link on your page needs to be fixed as it just routes to the teespring main page

Man thanks for the video, but keep your eyes peeled in the next two or three car shows, at least.

Maybe the NG 9-5 should be brought back. Visually it is timeless. The Emily GT sadly looks a bit fat.

Great news. I like it

After watching the top gear video about Emily I felt rather disappointed. The outside is kind of cool but the inside looks just like a Tesla model S. They could've designed an ergonomic interior with physical controls , I know it's not easy but maybe then they could actually offer something other manufacturers don't.

Who owns the tooling for the Cadillac BLS Saab or GM i only bought my BLS to be different after 900s & 9-3 & really its more Saab than both convertibles ive owned as they are all Valmet builds. Has any Saab lovers imported the BLS yet or do American Saab lovers have to wait until they are 25 years old. Been a Saab 9-3 other than the front headlights rear lights & the analogue clock its identical to the facelift 9-3 & as its badged as a Cadillac can Americans get round the 25 years law. Glad we don't have it in Europe we can import cars from brand new upto any agem

Swedes are great technicians but lousy businessesmen/women, especially those who worked at Saab. Look at all the totally useless concept cars from the Zero's, then the hair brained scheme of building ev 9-3 chassis and shipping them to China for final assembly, the whole ev 9-3 debacle that took ages and resulted in a car with sub par performance nobody was waiting for. And then the final nail of a beautiful looking Emily which would have been the natural successor to the 9-5NG if only they had used a proper engine, for my sake even a hybrid. Too much of a Messiah complex while nobody out in the great evil world is waiting for their gospel. This was my Saturday rant after several hours of shoveling snow, I feel very much relieved now 😄.
