I enjoyed the show, but I also took it as entertainment. I wasn't aware of all the gripes that the real life players had with it. But I was familiar with the major beefs from Jerry West, Kareem, Magic and others. I didn't see Bird as a bad guy, so much as just freaking intense. And my big takeaway with regard to his and Magic's rivalry was how they lived rent free in each other's minds, and built each other up into freaking nightmare monsters. One thing this show did was inspire me to scour KZbin for as much Showtime Lakers content as possible, which is actually how I stumbled on yours, BTM, and AOH's vlogs!

Also, Ferrell would have been fine, John C Riley is also primarily a comedic actor. And, comedy I believe is the most difficult genre to act, you can potentially not even know comedy is supposed to be funny if it’s poorly acted and comedy has a higher ratio of other acting on average than a drama. This why I think Pitt is a better actor than Leo, because he’s happy to be comedic, completely comfortable in silly roles. Both can do drama masterfully. (Neither do drama like Daniel Day Lewis… sheesh) IMO

I wanted to like this so bad and I was out by the 2nd episode. All I wanted was an HBO-style portrayal of the rise of the Lakers and their rivalry with Boston. What we got was a mockumentary and the worst of its kind because these legends didn't deserved to be mocked.

I actually like Winning Time. I was upset not because it ended...but how abruptly it ended. At the end of Season 2 Episode 6, it says "STAY TUNED FOR THE SERIES FINALE". I was like WHAT?!

I loved the show, the second season seemed rushed but I figured it was due to the writers' strike. It's disappointing that the show ended the way that it did. I was hoping it would go through the introduction of Jordan. I credit Winning Time, The Timberwolves making the playoffs and this channel for resparking my interest in basketball .

to be honest comedians does such a great job at serious roles or dramas than most actors. like adam sandler in "reign on me" or jim carrey in " eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" i also love ferrell in "stranger than fiction" not a total drama but some scenes shows how good he is as an actor too with all the emotions.

To be honest, I watched Winning Time during my last year of high school (which I graduated in 2023) and me personally, I thought the show was pretty good but I also had mixed feelings about it like on one side, I enjoyed the show but then on the side, there were some moments during the show that left me confused a little bit and I wish they could had tone down the fliter a little bit but I really loved it. Overall I'll give Winning Time a 8/10 at best

Bird was made to be the villian in this story(from the lakers perspective) so it made sense to me they didn't wanna show him too much. Kinda like Darth Vader in the OG Star Wars. Gotta keep the bad guy mysterious lol.

Not 2 seasons though. The creators were asking people to please watch cuz if not they would get canceled and the show has to end with the Celtics winning. They wanted at least 3 seasons to have the happy ending for the lakers

Gotta blame the producers on this one… if u knew u wasn’t gone be accurate with the characters or scenarios u should have ran it by the ppl your actually depicting so it wouldn’t have been the negative push back
