I only just started listening to Fleetwood Mac's early stuff, pre Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Damn what good music I had been missing all these years, a whole different sound that is fantastic if you haven't listened to their early stuff yet give it a go it's great

I actually barely listened to fleetwood mac after 1975. except for a few christine mcvie songs i really wasnt a huge fan of the nicks/buckingham lineup. My favorite album is definitely“ then play on“ from 1969.. then "future games“ then " bare trees“ then "mystery to Me"in that order. 1974s heroes are hard to find is pretty cool too. But " then play on“ is my absolute favorite. Danny Kirwan definitely blossomed on that record. And i liked the way Kirwan and Bob Welch clicked on Future Games and Bare Trees. Mystery to Me i liked mainly for Bob Weston‘s guitar work and Christine McVies vocal work.

Rumors was 1976. And the band began in 1967. It had minor success in the years 71 to 75. Bob Welch was part of those years and he was close to Stevie Nicks despite never officially being in the band at the same time. Along with Welch, John McVie, and drummer Mick Fleetwood were Bob Weston and Dave Walker. The original 1967 to 1971 band was consisting of Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Bob Brunning and Mick. But Brunning quit after 5 months so John McVie replaced. After the debut album Danny Kirwan joined as his former band fizzled.

Listen can I just say that you have absolutely NO idea what went down between lindsey and stevie. There are MULTIPLE accounts from many books, interviews and people speaking about the kind of people lindsey and stevie were. Every biography I have read about Fleetwood mac has the same similar atmosphere of lindsey: that he is controlling, high tempered, abusive and has the ego of a God. Whereas all accounts of stevie have said she is humble, sweet, funny and really down to earth. Quite frankly she has made it easy for Lindsey by not publicly addressing the way he treated her and let me tell you, if she had to put up with an egomaniac for HOW MANY YEARS?... then it's her own right to be finished. It's not just about the fans, the band are living, breathing people too and if she is done being tossed around by lindsey then good on her. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that there is a bigger story to what went down in 2018 and the real reason he was kicked out. There is no ways she wouldve done it for a 'selfish reason'. I do however think she is (like she always does) protecting lindsey by not speaking about what truly went down. Their manager only let off that "Lindsey's ego got too big" that's it. We dont have any more info, but she wouldnt just put up with him for her whole life, to kick him out for 'nothing' or 'something that isnt a big deal like a smirk'. Quite frankly I'm sick and tired of the hate stevie is getting recently because of this situation when NOBODY. ABSOLUTELY NOBODY really knows what happened. What we do know (that for the life of me I cant understand how people dont get this) is that mick would not have been so quick to kick him out and be on stevies side if there wasnt a good reason to. If it was a silly reason he would have told her to grow up.... but he didnt. Need I remind you that micks autobiography also depicts lindsey as a not so kind hearted soul when mick was literally his friend during the time of this writing. Stevie is in her 70s, a successful queen, someone who got tired of lindsey, worked her ass off to get to where she is today, and the only woman to get into the rock and roll hall of fame twice. She has succeeded in greatness and although it saddens me that this is what has happened to my favorite band... I dont put the blame on stevie. I put it on the person who never grew up, never lowered their ego and continued to act immaturly to the band ,and stevie in particular. Lindsey. theres a deeper meaning so stop looking at "what stevie did" shes expressed countless times how much she loved/loves lindsey and so for her to come to a point like this is not her own doing. In fact it's her being sick of having to deal with 50 years of Lindsey's bullshit. Lindsey's wife filed for divorce recently, proving my point that he has major issues and he is the reason they (stevie and him, and now him and his wife) have broken up. In case you didn't know mick stated in an interview that when first joining Fleetwood mac lindsey had so much control over stevie, he treated her like a toy, in 1987 he "manhandled her, slapped her face, bent her backwards over the hood of his car and began to choke her" , during Buckinghamnicks he forced her to remove her top and also threw her into a stove, and the real reason stevie broke up with him before leaving sausalito in 1976 was because he threw her on the ground during an argument and she walked out on him. Nobody knows this, or they do but they turn a blind eye to it because they love lindsey so much. (And I am in no way stating that stevie is perfect, because their relationship was volatile to begin with and they both had hurt each other countless times but i do, however, believe that lindsey is far more to blame.) Tells you the kind of person he is especially considering the fact that carol (his girlfriend after stevie) wrote about how he treated her. He dragged her down a driveway by her hair and at one point she had to go to hospital because of how badly lindsey had beaten her up. everyone who's met him or had a tiff had nothing near nice to to say about him, which was the opposite for stevie. Even rupert hine, who she dated and ditched with no explanation talks about her with such kindness and heartfelt words, today and during the 80s around the time it happened. Benmont tench was interviewed and was asked about helping Stevie make one part of her album to which he said "and so I hung out with Stevie and it was great and shes- have you ever met her? I love that woman. You know shes not kidding. That's not a persona, that's Stevie. I love Stevie to death." Ken caillet said that he "finds and still finds lindsey to be extremely annoying" and stated that he was a very "angry man". Lindsey hit his girlfriend cheri, hit stevie, hit carol. He kicked stevie on stage and threw a guitar at her head, not to mention choking her and slapping her, pushing her into a stove etc. Stevie has said that lindsey "gets really scary when hes angry". Judy wong, their manager stated that he treated stevie badly, john mcvie stated witnessed abuse and tom petty, who became a close friend of stevies, went on interview and addressed the way lindsey treats stevie(in an undermining, master kind of way). And it's a known fact that he was a control freak, wanting to control everyone and everything. So many people hate him and yet so many people talk about stevie and their experience with her, with such adoration. (That is except for the lindsey fans who refuse to address or acknowledge the kind of person he is, and in turn throw everything at stevie to put the blame on anyone but poor little lindsey) this woman has been through enough so stop making assumptions about what stevie did to the band and give her a break. Honestly
@meganbotha4933
@meganbotha4933 2 жыл бұрын
Also LINDSEY wouldnt be anywhere without STEVIE. Fleetwood Macs only No. 1 hit was Dreams and the song that made them famous in the first place was rhiannon, both of which are Stevies songs. I know that they offered him a spot however that was because they just needed a guitarist. If Stevie hadn't joined the band wouldnt have been famous at all. Unfortunately without Stevie, Lindsey is extremely mediocre. Why do you think her solo career was a success and his was not?

@@jayannakelley9051 no she's just naturally talented in writing lyrics and has the quality of a star. Stevie's songs are unique, Lindsey's are not. Idk if you've ever even read a Fleetwood Mac biography but Lindsey was always extremely jealous at how natural these things came to Stevie and not him. She can write poetic lyrics in under ten minutes and Lindsey will spend hours to come out with lyrics like Family Man. I've noticed you comment a lot and I don't think you really know the kind of stuff Lindsey has done or the type of person he is. Read Carol Ann's book 'Storms'. It'll give you an idea of who he is. (Hint: he dragged her down a driveway while he was driving his car and she was being dragged by her hair)
