I'll be honest. I haven't watched the channel since Dan and Mitch left. Like it faded out from my regular watch then when I came back I was like "who are these guys and wheres Dan and Mitch?". This. I remember having stopped enjoying videos where the new guys appeared in first „as help“. I don’t know why. Once they completely took over I stopped watching it altogether. I don’t like the new humor, I don’t like the new content and I (yeah, that’s.. bad I know) can’t listen to the new guy/s without cringing SOO hard every time they say anything. View counts agree with it. The new creators and especially the new content does not perform.

Great to see Dan and Mitchell again. I've missed you guys. Part of the reason I liked your channel, was that you both have an odd sense of humour, and your chemistry together was perfect. Nothing was too serious - the video where I think you cut up an anvil, and then return to the store, to get a refund, because it was faulty, made me cry with laughter. Similarly, accidentally firing a skateboard wheel into Craig's roof, was hilarious. The first video I ever saw of yours did not feature the water jet. It did, however, feature Mitchell seeing what pepper spray, or maybe CS gas was like. It was a real 'are you guys mental?' moment, and I knew I had to see whatever other batshit crazy stuff you had done - and I was not disappointed. I do hope you return one day. Nice one. 👍👍👍

The said they never put much effort into their videos, but that's what I liked about it. It didn't feel like over-produced garbage, it was just some goofballs messing around and having fun. It reminded me a lot of Is It a Good Idea to Microwave This? and to a lesser degree the Hydraulic Press Channel and the early seasons of Mythbusters.

This video was more cathartic than you guys can imagine, lol. I always thought for some reason some big wig owner kicked Dan and Mitch out of the business and put another less costly person in place. No idea why I didn't think Dan and Mitch ran the biz themselves, lol. Makes me happy and sad that it was ultimately their choice to move on from this channel, but I guess that's the way it goes.

I agree, it did feel like a corporate take over and that Dan & Mitch was being forced out; but hearing it from them makes more sense. That the burnout was the negative vibe coming through and not a corporate overload. Also knowing about the take over explains why there's a lot less of waterjet related content and more random stuff. It helps to explain a lot. As much as we miss Dan & Mitch, it is awesome to see that the new team is trying to make it their own without (as to say) dissing the originals. Good luck to the team for the future :D

I've always enjoyed the Waterjet Channel for what it is: pure, silly fun, with a waterjet, and the Next Generation is just as fun as the previous. I do miss Dan and Mitch's dynamic, though! Also, I don't think a lot of people really get how tough it is to maintain a channel past a few viral hits - not everyone can sustain a channel doing vapid reaction videos for 35M subs, it takes a special "skill" for that! THANK YOU! Dan and Mitch made this channel what it was. Lightning in a bottle. They were able to capture my curiosity of dumb irrelevant stuff like water-jetting items, shooting stuff out of an air cannon ect. All the while having their qwerks that made it feel wholesome. Just a couple of buds, doin dumb shit and making some money on the side. THATS what brought me in. So when they just dipped out it made it hard to continue to watch as I felt like it was replaced by a “company” style of KZbinr and it turned out I was right. Dan and Mitch made this channel and it won’t be the same and it’s not fair for me to expect that. So thanks Dan and Mitch for your explanation! I hope you guys do restart a KZbin channel as I know you would get to that 1,000,000 sub mark a lot faster than you think. As for the new regime on the Channel, I hope you continue to grow and learn how to reach that content that made this so awesome in the first place!

I've been watching since the very early days and I've been wondering what happened since it's been fairly evident that the channel had changed a lot so I really appreciate the explanation of the behind the scenes. I'll continue watching and cringing when things are done badly, because much as we might complain when something is done badly/uses the wrong technique it's actually a lot of fun to nerd out in the comments and backseat the video with people of different areas of expertise (most notably with the world's fastest wheel series where you took the most difficult route to failure like using threaded rod as an axel with custom machined bearings causing them to fail completely rather than going with the easier and better option of quickly making a custom axle which I can only assume was intentional) It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for the channel and again thanks for making this video with the transparency and explanation

I'm still subscribed even though the hosts changed. I never minded the change that much. I love your: Can it knife? videos, and I was thinking you should do a can you make a knife out of plexiglass. Good luck on your future endeavors I'll still be here and cant wait to see where it goes from here.

I got into the channel in the last few months of Dan and Mitchell alone (but watched all the old videos) and when the hosts change occurred i still gave them a chance and now i still watch the channel everytime you upload

Thanks for this. I feel a lot better remaining a subscriber. Always hated that there was so many explanations for what happened without anything definitive.

I have been wondering for a while where Dan and Mitchel went. I appreciate getting the full story. It’s not the same as it was, but I appreciate that you are trying to take it in a positive direction. It’s sometimes hard for me to accept that we are past the old days of KZbin. I really loved how genuine the old school videos were. Something about two friends just playing around with a water jet just felt so right on KZbin. I can’t say I won’t miss it. But I’m glad to see it being taken in a positive direction.

It's so difficult nowadays to find "genuine" content. A lot of stuff is just immediately visible as being produced with the goal of pleasing the algorithm. A lot of things on the internet have become more of a game to beat the algorithm than actually producing stuff people want/are willing to pay for. Even though I think it's great people can live off of it nowadays I really wish we could go back to the old times of people just doing somewhat random videos and having fun. If it was good it would become a top-viewed video, and if not then it didn't. Just finding new channels like that is basically impossible nowadays if you don't already know about them.

Thanks for the closure, I was a very early subscriber, and really liked watching those 2. I wish they'd share what they've been up to, but happy to respect their privacy.

Thank you for this video guys. It made me kind of sad, hearing you talk about what happened, and it seems like this little passion project got way further than y'all thought... I hope you are doing well still, and Daniel, if you see this, I know it must've been hard. On every single video, comments were slamming on you, but man, you made me laugh, and you're doing a great job. Much love guys, you seem so normal (in the good way) :)

I feel like the community missing them is more about the chemistry behind the old water jet guys and the lick testing

Thanks for the closure! Glad you guys are doing well and moving on. I am one of the OGs that was salty about them leaving and I kinda left too but maybe I’ll come back now I that I know what happened. On another note, I’m still riding the High when I commented on a video and the very next one was my recommendation! It was the episode of trying to cut spoons with the Waterjet. I’m still happy about that.

The channel definitely took a turn for the worse when the OGs left. I only watched this video because they're in it. Now I know why the channel went to crap. I'll stay subscribed, but I rarely click. Just being honest, fellas. Good luck to you in the future!
