Missing in Action easily. They scare me. Rexy is huge, and terrifying. Rexy in the novel is a straight up monster. She however can't get into the bunker like maintenance sheds of Isla Nublar, and you have a chance to run away from her. The raptors on the other hand... They are insanely intelligent, hunt in packs, are very fast, and can open doors. Jurassic Park Raptors would make me way more nervous than the Tyrannosaurus. The Rex would get a tranquilizer. The Raptors get live ammo.

@Christopher-vj2ie5 жыл бұрын
The young raptors that DID make it, could have survived on other infant dinosaurs, and also modern wildlife such as lizards, snakes, birds and other things indigenous to the island itself. They would have had to adapt to the already existing echo system. So there's a big chance many of them might have survived until they were recaptured, or until the volcano erupted. As we saw in Jurassic World, most of the old park remained untouched within the enclosures. Thus the only solution for the new park was to enclose the entire island to ensure that none of the parks guests would stray and maybe get injured.

I like to think the little ones escaped and lived on rats in the service tunnels under the park like in the book (and after they grew up they ate whatever they could find) and that's the reason the old park was considered off limits in Jurassic World. Because with all the tunnels systems they just could not be sure they were all eradicated by "Hoskins and the boys" But that's just my wishful thinking.

If the Isla Nublar ecosystem included Procompsognathus, it's possible the fledgling raptors could have survived to adulthood, with a steady supply of compys to feed on. Likewise, the compys would have represented a constant threat to the nests built by any breeding raptors on the island.

So... The way I view it is that *Isla Nublar* was always intended to be a fairly controlled situation, as it was intended to be the theme park island all along, so it's likely a lot of the areas for natural resources, including both dinosaur and non-dino prey animals for the Raptors to survive on is fairly scarce. Since it's been stated that animals were raised on Site B and then transported to Nublar when they were old enough, it's likely, as also show in TLW, that the dinosaur population on *Sorna* was the one most likely to consistently survive in the wild with naturally reproducing herds of herbivore dinosaurs, since presumably they had been planning on an expansive park and needed a very large population to support that and the animals on Sorna simply were not ready to come over to Nublar both due to immaturity and due to the park facilities being very incomplete. With even the Rex seemingly not terribly far from death in 2002 when she was recaptured, it's reasonable to assume that means that the effective populations of the larger herbivores had been destroyed in the 9 years between the "Incident" and when she was recovered. If there was a genuinely thriving population of Raptors or other carnivores on Nublar it seems that Wu would have been able to document them fairly easily in 1994..however it's very clear that Masrani Corp felt there was a real risk of something, be they Raptors or Dilopho's or similar, having survived as they had the entire northern third of Nublar in a restricted zone. So while it's unlikely there is a large population of Raptors on Nublar like you would see on Sorna..clearly they felt there was a strong chance that... Something survived.

I would've loved to have seen a video of what happened to all the raptors on Isla Nublar from the first Jurassic Park film because the raptors they've shown on screen or those they didn't show on screen, we can tell the ones on screen were killed or died somehow but the ones off screen, we never got to get any concrete evidence if they survived or not, but even if they did, Hoskins and his men would've killed them all anyway. So this video pretty much covered that.

I used to think the raptor Lex and Tim locked in the freezer was the same one that somehow found its way out and into the visitor’s center that faced Grant, Lex, and Tim. I’ve known about the baby raptors from the nest Grant, Lex, and Tim came across but like most everyone else hadn’t put much thought into them. I had assumed while they may have survived for sometime after JP, they eventually died in the long run way before JW. I’m unsure if they’d survive that long till then else we’d have another raptor pack other than Owen’s raptor squad.
@grmpynrthmn53715 жыл бұрын
Not sure if the Jurassic World park builder game for android and iOS is considered a reliable source for canon or lore, but one of the mission arcs has Zach and Gray lost out in the jungle and hearing what Owen, Claire, and Barry later confirm to be wild raptors which were only being kept at bay by the presence of Blue and the other members of the IBRIS Project pack. Other mentions throughout the game refer to there being several different tribes of wild raptor spread across the island, and debates on whether they were the result of the nests found prior to the breakout in "93, or if they'd possibly spread from Isla Sorna via either stowing away on ships travelling between the islands or even swimming the distance.

The survival of the animals is something the books went into details about but the films glossed over, it would make sense for many of them to die off. This is why I hate the DPG being canon. That nest was not protected from the elements, nor kept warm. The eggs weren't being turned which is literally something we see being done earlier in the movie. Therefore it makes zero sense for those to be raptor eggs because no raptors were there to look after them. Not to mention Grant makes no mention of them being raptor eggs. We also know it's not an old nest because there was a literal tropical storm the night before, which would have, at the very least, washed away the tracks.

Always felt bad for that baby raptor in the movie. I remember when they were leaving thinking, what about all the hatchlings that were left behind in the labs. So, the dinosaurs in the original Jurassic Park were bred lysine deffecient, so if they got of the island, they would eventually die due to the lack of lysine. With that said, I think in the Lost World, someone mentioned that the dinosaurs were flourishing because the carnivores ate the herbivores, which ate plants and gave them lysine. The reason the baby raptors in the original Park didn't make it was because they were too small to hunt, which meant they couldn't eat herbivoress to get their lysine. That's why they didn't make it. But it also begs why did the the wild born raptors on Nublar fair so poorly compared to their juvenile Sorna counterparts? Was the fact that they were just too young to be on their own, in comparison to the juveniles on Sorna? We they Nublar born raptors facing more extreme competition from the Dilophosaurs and compies? And for that matter, did the report say how large these juvenile raptor corpses were or their estimated ages?

So It does seem plausible that most of the infant raptors died, I do think that there are some that survived. The catchphrase of this whole series is "Life Finds a Way" so I do think that life found a way in this case. Most of the eggs probably were eaten by Gallimimus and some of the the ones that did hatch were eaten by Dilophosaurus or T-Rex, or weren't strong enough to survive in the wild, but I'm almost 99.9% sure that at least a few of the raptors on the island lived to adulthood. I think with aufficient cover/somewhere to hide- like the visitor center- it shouldnt have been impossible for wild chicks to survive. Also I for 1 dont believe the raptor in the walk in fridge stayed there forever. They arent air tight and meant to imprison man-sized prehistoric beasts indefinitely. I feel that within a number of hours if the the lock didn't break, the hinges might. Walk ins also usually have some sort of ventilation fan to keep them smelling fresh so it wouldnt die of asphyxiation. I feel that as tough as the remaining raptors might have had it they wouldnt have it any tougher than Blue, and she was alone for 3 years. I thought the raptors lived in that small enclosed area where the cow was fed to them. When were Raptors kept any other place before the power went out?

Ron Perrine jr thanks. It makes much more sense to me now. I always thought that was a mistake in the story, but I was just misunderstanding for a long time. This makes me want to see a prequel film about the early building and operations of the first park.

Completely unrelated but do you plan on releasing a video about the new Jurassic World Evolution trailer?

HolyFurryFish1998 it’s from the Jp snes game. The chaos continues I think is the games title.

Life finds a way. The raptors survived. Its a huge island and they eat insects most likely when theyre young. Smart, Social, Apex predators that mature mentally and physically pretty quickly dont normally disappear. Especially with such an affinity for adaptation.

I think there is three left rember in the game three survived after they killed Oscar but like Klay said the ingen team probably killed them because they wanted raptors to try to train because those were wild raptors

Makes you wonder where the DNA came from for Blue and the other raptors. Did Ingen / Masrani harvest it from any Sorna raptors that were left or did they still have the base dna from the first film hidden somewhere since I believe the Nublar emyros in storage got damaged or destroyed. Probably had an off sight facility. Possible one on Sorna that they took with them when they left it.

Please make a video about the history of the mammenchisaurus in the Jurassic park franchise

I personally believe that there were other raptors on the island (IE: THE RAPTORS FROM JPTG) but due to poor social structure of and predators, they eventually died off.

What I've always wondered is this: if the three Velociraptors had never escaped before the system was shut down, and Grant, Tim and Lex found the eggs PRIOR to the escape... Who were those eggs laid by? Do we have to assume more Velociraptors were cloned after the Big One had killed five other Velociraptors? In that case, the Velociraptors we see in JP: The Game may be seen as canon, but the question about their fate remains unanswered...

Apparently the monitoring of the island was not the best and there is a moment, iirc, where they use the system to check if all dinos are still there and Grant asks them to check higher numbers than the ones that should be there. They indeed found that some dinos had reproduced and since the Velociraptors previously were kept in a different area, the sex switch and egg laying could have happened then (I think this was also the time when the Big One killed most others). Since we never saw more than those three in the movie but know that more were born in the wild, I think it is not that hard to believe that Wu's group just did not find alive ones. It is often easier to find corpses (they don't run away or hie actively) and there are real life cases for animals that were not seen for decades and believed extinct before being found again. Granted, those are usually smaller than Raptors but then there are also more scientific expeditions in real life than there were on the island in the JP universe (at least that we know of in canon) so it would not be unrealistic if they were not accounted for yet still alive.
