American Soul/R&B group Tony! Toni! Toné!, sometimes referred to as The Tonies, composed of D'wayne Patrice Wiggins, his brother Charles Ray Wiggins, also known as Raphael, and their cousin Timothy Christian Riley, were born and bred in The Bay…Oakland, California to be exact. Both D’Wayne and Raphael sang lead vocals and played guitar and bass respectively. Timothy, the more low key of the trio, shined on drums and keyboards.

Tony Toni Tone is definitely in my top 5 of the best 90s male group's. My mother told me we were on a plane when I was 2 going back to the Bay (where I was born and where we lived in the early 90s) she said she noticed Dwayne on a plane we were on and said Hi and they talked and she said he also commented on how cute of a baby I was. They definitely deserve their flowers!

Geez. Had to watch twice to get the gest of all the chaos. Didn't realize the had so much mess within the group. Raphael needs his own vid because he's had a hand in some iconic projects the past 25 years or so. I see his name pop up in credits in the most unlikely places and I love it. Also, quiet as it's kept, he's had a lowkey entertaining love life. Good vid, thanks for sharing!

@@dawnlockaby7737 I wouldn't say he "discovered" DC. The group had already been through lineup changes, group name changes and been signed and dropped by Elektra when he worked with them. They also had already worked with Daryl Simmons prior to then as well. Basically DC was a group that had been shopped around to labels for years by that point. What he did unequivocally do is help craft the sound of that initial album and his talent is on display there for sure.

To this day I will still listen to TTT and dance like I did the first time I heard their songs. Especially Feels Good..I dance down the street and care zero. Lol Good music like what the 90s had will never be the same..Nothing now compares.

I love this channel!!! I'm rediscovering groups I somehow forgot about. I'm about to go add "Feels Good" and "Let's Get Down" to my Spotify playlist!

Tony!Toni!Tone wasn't a 3 man group. It was a band. The record company pushed for the main 3 to be the face of the group. There's a 2 hour documentary with all the members of the group and cousin who wrote and changed their sound for their second album. More research on this one cuz their was like 12 members of this group

Always thought Raphael had everything to do with The Tony's and EnVogue breaking up. But all the info was rumors and this video clears things up. Thank you!

Greed and Raphael. I wish someone would upload that BET clip when Tony Toni Tone appeared on Video Soul (I can't find it anywhere). Raphael made this breakup joke that was funny, but very telling. He said, his other members hated when he did that joke.
